Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
GalacticHippo replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
The Australian shop@home site lists it as available now with a "FREE exclusive Hagrid™ & Buckbeak™" for any HP over $200, so would that be the same thing everywhere? Is there a specific GWP for Diagon Alley that isn't the secret stand? -

I'm going to optimistically assume we will get a better Lucius in a CMF S3 like how the CMF Bellatrix was vastly superior to the Burrow's one! -

"extended campaign" Well they got that right, this is the most over-extended, drawn-out affair I've seen so far. This is already a mess, I'm not looking forward to trying to buy it on release day -

Wow, it's beautiful! I can't wait to see the high res pictures of the interiors and all the details. Come on Lego, the cat is out of the bag! Give us those crisp renders ? -

Now that you mention it, Cormac definitely seems like a possibility since he's associated with both Quidditch Supplies and Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. So far it seems like some of the minifigures can be linked to multiple locations (the photographer fits with both F+B for the book signing and the Daily Prophet storefront). -

This reveal is almost comically underwhelming, considering everything we've seen (and bought) and even official-ish outlets like Brickset had already published images of the minifigs. -

As I hoped, Evazan looks much better now that we can see his face printing. And that Aqualish head is very robust, but I like the details and colouring. -

All of that back printing on the dress slopes is incredible! Did they have a higher budget this time? These photos are incredible; probably a lot better than what we'd get to see in an official reveal to be honest. -

Wow, those close-up photos have totally sold me on buying this series. The quality of the printing in the potions book, and new Butterbeer piece, are incredible... I haven't felt like buying HP LEGO recently, which on one hand has been good for my budget, but dang it the designers are just too good! -

Hmm, the sleepyhead hair would probably work well. I was also thinking maybe the Birthday Boy hair or Zombie businessman. To be honest, I wasn't too happy with the hair they used for Arthur to begin with, but hopefully they do use a different hair piece, especially as they'll also have full-length legs so it'd be good to distinguish them in a line up of Weasley minifigures. -

If the 'no battle packs in 2021' thing is true, I'm going to be really disappointed in Lego. My first ever Lego set was that original ROTS clone trooper battle pack. Getting rid of the small battlepacks while making prices unreasonably high (Grievous starfighter, Final Order TIE) is going to price kids and others out of starting/maintaining Lego Star Wars as a hobby. Is it possible that as some people mentioned the vehicle in Mos Eisley might be an imperial landing craft that got distorted into an imperial shuttle along the leaked chain of information? They're kind of similar... I guess it would also make sense to have an imperial vehicle included to introduce more 'conflict' in the set (like how the scout trooper speederbike was included in Ewok Village). -

Extremely late to the buzz about the new leak but I probably tend to agree with people who think Gringotts is likely (hopefully ??) included. Probably just a facade with a small lobby, and maybe with technic pin connection points for an Ironbelly cave/Lestrange vault/cart and railway/ some kind of an expansion type set or something next year. But everything else looks very exciting and promising (although not for my wallet). -

I noticed that the WB Studio tour in London is opening back up on the 20th of August...is it too much of a stretch that Lego is waiting until around then to release photos of the minifigures like they had them in the studio tour set last time? When exactly are they meant to be made available for purchase? -

I quite like the new head piece for Ponda and Evazan will probably look better once we can see the face wrinkles more clearly. I hope these aren't our only new characters in the set but I'm happy to see these icons finally get their due. -

I know this might be getting a bit off topic, but I do think there's only so far Lego can push the envelope with these prices. Grievous' starfighter is 78€ which is just over 90USD, in Australia it's just over 85USD. I think this wave of sets being sold out so quickly might be more an indication of limited stock/supply than people being willing to pay the high prices and I hope Lego thinks that too.... -

She might also get shoehorned into a random Hogwarts set/Ministry of Magic/Bill and Fleur's wedding/insert alternate scene, seeing as they did put Draco out of place in the Astronomy Tower. I guess it's a bit more of a stretch but I suppose they could do it... Some of the choices in the CMF do feel a little weird but I'm sure there was intention behind it. I wonder if they'll do an interview like the Star Wars designers did recently. -

Let's just report the political comments, no need to reply and start debate about basic human rights lol. Anyway, I'm hoping for Wuher himself to be in the set as well, because I missed the one in the last cantina set. Aunt Beru would also be a cool addition, I know she never appeared at Mos Eisley but it's been so long without her and maybe she could be outside or something (I'm probably being unrealistic but...why haven't they made Beru yet??) -

Looks like the people who wanted a Lego Bad Batch set this year will most likely get their wish, just a little bit later than expected... -

This is of course possible but my gut feeling is that Hogwarts is a very famous and unique silhouette and so a display piece appeals to a wide range of people. Diagon Alley does not have as much of an appeal and is slightly less iconic, which makes me think they're more likely to make it a play set than a microscale display. -

It looks like Lego was inspired by the Studio Tour set decor: https://www.boorooandtiggertoo.com/hogwarts-in-the-snow-yule-ball/ -

Wow, I fully just saw the piano and thought * table *. It's in Yule ball colours though, not black like Grimmauld Place, so I'm really not holding out hope that this will have elements from OoTP. -

Weird. Eurobricks glitched out for me a few minutes ago so maybe there's something up with that. And I just looked up pictures of the firebolt and that seems to make more sense now. Can't believe I didn't think of that! You're probably right. I suppose it was inevitable but it would have been nice to get more interesting, niche or Yule ball specific builds -

It seems weirdly cone shaped and oddly proportioned to be a broom but I can't really think what else it might be. Having another look there also seem to be the unavoidable presents that always come with ACs. I can't make out what's between the yellow present and the gramophone though. Something white—not Hedwig, maybe a food accessory?? On another note, is that the D2C Hogwarts in the background or just a stock image? I thought it was the Great Hall set but then I realised it has the three mini side towers. -

So uh moving on from this flaming dumpster of a discussion, has anyone been able to ID all the mini builds on the box art? I can see a giant gramophone, a microphone and stand, and a table, but I don't know what the rest are.
