  1. The first part that comes to my mind is this: Peeron link. It's not an exact match, but I can't think of any other part that would come close.
  2. I don't know if they add different costs in different countries, but in Holland I was charged only for the parts and shipping. However, liscenced theme specific parts can not be ordered, for example: You can't get the tommy gun from the Batman series and if I'm not mistaken, you can't order minifigs from any of the liscenced themes either. To clarify: Say you want the windscreen from the 7648 MT-21 Mobile Mining Unit twenty times. You call LEGO customer service and ask for 20 of them. They give you the price, you say thank you (or never mind, if you think it's too expensive), they send the invoice, you pay, they send the item. This method inludes, but is not limited to, all the parts available from the Pick a Brick selection. You can also fill out the replacement parts form on the site and lie, saying it wasn't in the set, (so you don't have to pay), however, because there is only one windscreen in the set you can only order one. If you want twenty you will have to fill out the form twenty times. This could make them become a bit suspicious. Hope this helps.
  3. Same here. I buy sets to complete the theme, be it Batman, Star Wars, or whatever, but once I've build them they get taken apart and all the parts get sorted. I'm also quite careful with the instructions. Why keep something together if you can rebuild it any time you want. Only exceptions might be some UCS sets. But only so long as I don't need any bricks from them. I'm lucky. I do have a dedicated room, at least I did until my sister moved in with her kids. But she's looking for a place of her own. Once that has happened I can get to back to some serious building.
  4. Removing tiles works in the exact same way as removing plates. See this link. I use it all the time.
  5. It's not from any set. It's a custom minifig.
  6. I bought mine about a month ago at the Legoshop in Oberhausen (Germany) and it had the Dark Pearl Gold version. Even the hands were that color. (When they were first released the hands were Light Pearl Gold) However, which color C3PO is in any given box would depend on when the set was manufactured. I don't think you could tell that from the outside. The box I have has a light C3PO on it, so no clue there. It could happen you buy a Sandcrawler tomorrow and it's from the first production run, not having sold because the stock was being replenished with newer ones. I don't know how likely that is, but it's something to consider. Offcourse if you were to place an order with S@H you should get a new one. Why are you asking? Do you or don't you want a dark one?
  7. You could try "Displex". It's meant to be used to clean up small scratches on you mobile phone display, but it works wonders on Lego as well. You can even remove unwanted prints from elements.
  8. I just found this topic, (maybe I should pay a little more attention) anyway.... My number: 6989 Location: Netherlands, Europe
  9. If I can come over to play with that one I'll keep the 6929.
  10. Do you feel too embarrassed to buy new sets? You could always ask the store attendant to giftwrap them, pretend your buying sets for a nephew or little brother. Or you could let them giftwrap the sets for this!! I have done that. You get some really weird looks. I liked it. I don't care. I'm happy. (in case you're wondering, I'm one of those 30+ old guys who spends way too much on Lego. Heck, if I don't get my ABS-fix regularly, I get cranky) Or, as Zouave said, get them online.
  11. I have added a Space folder to the MAJ account. I read this thread after I did that so I had no idea about the Photobucket folder. :-$ I have also removed the "quote" since it served no purpose whatsoever. Sending the password through PM might be a good idea if there are any more people thinking they're being funny by deleting pics. Anyway, great initiative. Let's hope it doesn't get abused again.
  12. That sounds like the 6972: Which is nice, but doesn't seem to have a lot of workspace. Looks more like a launch platform. I'm jumping on the bandwagon of the Message Intercept Base. *wub* Great looks, great playability and it's effing huge. (in Lego standards).
  13. Thanks for posting this on Eurobricks. Unfortunately, not all of them are available in my country at this time.... :-(
  14. Nice review. This is my favourite M:tron ship. I always saw this thing as a sort of fire truck, putting out plasma fires with the nozzle on the front. I never had any trouble with the cargo pod, it just needed to be pushed down to get between the fins. Maybe the problem arose with this release, it has a different boom construction than the first. Although, I have both versions and I don't recall any difficulties with it. Also the rotor assembly was changed in this one. It still works, but I always liked the first type better. I need to upload the first version's instructions somewhere. I can only find the second one online. One more thing to put on my "to do" list....
  15. Sure, pick on the set I inventoried. Good thing too, it reminded me I still have to take a picture of the stickersheet. As for it being the worst set ever....... there isn't a single useless part in it. Could that possibly make it the best set ever? :-D
  16. Well, I can't wait to see the new series of "Life on Mars". I'd love to see a set of the Ford Cortina with minifigs of Sam Tyler and Gene Hunt. Or isn't that the "Life on Mars" we're talking about? ;-) Whatever the new SPACE is, I'll be buying it. The number of copies of each set will depend on parts selection and price.
  17. I've never hidden my obsession with LEGO from my mom. But I still find the prediction a bit creepy, mainly because she's been dead for over 11 years. I guess some sort of psychic connection will come into it. Play "Twilight Zone" music.
  18. I like the noise of bricks being pushed together extra tight. Not during the build, but afterwards, when you apply pressure and the entire structure makes that creaking noise as if every brick is settling in. I find it quite relaxing.
  19. I used the heads for engines in the Starrunner, I'm happy with them. As for the new sets coming out.... I tend to agree with Athos: hope for the best, expect the worst. I'm trying not to get too excited untill I've seen the first pics.
  20. My first choice: The source of my addiction. My true favourite is this: Boy, do I miss Classic Space. :-(
  21. I thought I'd kill a bird with two stones and try to make the Dysons in LDD Factory. The result can be seen here. The basic instructions are there for the download (if anyone's interrested). Build it (or them) in your favourite colors and change the look of the nose and back. For inspiration see the link in the first post. As Xenologer wrote, the handlebar is not available in Lego Factory. Other parts I had to leave out were the droid arms (safety bars) on the side. Make sure to add them, otherwise it won't pass the safety trails. ;-)
  22. I'll see if I can get some construction pics. Never tried that before, so be patient. Meanwhile, there are two new bikes on show. Med-Bike Gallery I built Med-Bike1 because I wanted a bike that didn't have such a heavy nose. Than came the idea to put it onboard a spacecraft. But it didn't fold up enough so I made Med-Bike2. And because that would go into disaster areas it needed to be more rugged. Enjoy.
  23. Hi Snefroe, Nice review, but you missed something. When the ship is seperated you can place one cockpit on the front of the cargo section and the other on the rocket launcher. (you'll need to remove the satellite if you do) I was rather pleased with the "airplane wings" myself. I bought my copies of the set based purely on the fact it had six of them. There really isn't any Ice Planet 2002 set that jumps out at me. The best thing about the theme for me were the minifig heads. Finally a bit of personality for minifigs. Especially the female. Too bad she was only available in this one and the 6983 Ice Station Odyssey. So, any other reviews planned?
  24. I had an idea for a spaceship and wanted to put a speederbike on board. But because of the size and shape of that ship, the bike would have to be really tiny. It's not always easy to build small so the solution was simple: build a bike that can fold up. I liked the result so much, I built a whole bunch of them. Presenting: The Dyson Series Brickshelf Gallery Hope you like them. I've got other types as well. I will be putting those online when I have taken pictures of them.
