Correct. The Minas Tirith set must cover the whole city or there will be a backlash as big as for the SW Death Slice... I still think it is feasible, either in microscale or minifig scale, but it will cost at least 500 EUR (and hopefully more - the more expensive, the more complete it will be).

I beg to differ. Lothlorien could be beautiful and very appealing if done properly. Grey Havens is not such a minor location as it concludes the trilogy and it could look great too. There are already two sets on Moria (including the recent Balrog) so I don't think we will see that location again any time soon. A new bigger version of Helm's Deep would be welcome, although I am happy with the one I already have. I am personally hoping for Edoras as the next set after Minas Tirith.
-
Yes me too of course, I hope this leak is correct as I am really looking forward to getting this new version of Aragorn :-)
-
Indeed. For example Sauron is in the Barad Dur set although he only appears in the prologue of the trilogy with a full body. Very unlikely to happen. Sadly the LOTR theme is not as popular as the HP theme (at least according to Lego) and one or two sets per year is the most that we can expect (and not on the same location).
-
I really hope it is more expensive. 400 bucks is not enough for a decent Minas Tirith. Agreed.
-
We already have Helm's Deep ! So I don't think it should be a priority. But after TLG covers all the new locations mentioned above, I would welcome a new UCS version of Helm's Deep :-)
-
Indeed! After Minas Tirith, the sets I would love to get in priority are Edoras, Lothlorien, Grey Havens and Argonath.
-
This may be the most absurd comment I have ever read in this thread... so just to avoid the disappointment of some people, it is better not to do at all the set that so many of us LOTR fans have been waiting for so long? A Minas Tirith set in any form is better than no Minas Tirith set at all.
-
First of all just to clarify, my ''price does not matter'' policy only applies to LOTR sets, because of my undying love for this theme. Second of all, I seriously doubt that TLG is reading this thread :-)

Actually for me the excitement is mainly about the beauty of the white city, even if I will be happy to get some key minifigs too. I just hope it will be as big a set as possible to do it justice, the price does not matter. In any case I will buy it in whatever form it comes out, and will just MOC the missing parts it if needed.
-
Yes, I am quite hopeful that they will go with something like this. I think 5 levels would be enough for the white city to look decent.
-
I really hope they don't do that. I want a whole Minas Tirith, which will cost at least 800 bucks to be decent. But on the worst case if it is only partial I will just MOC the rest myself.

I find more justified to spend €1,000 on a great Lego set which I will keep forever than on the last iphone which will be obsolete in a few years :-)
-
The awful design of the new Star War Death Star 75419 makes me a bit worried... This is the first Lego set to reach the price of 1,000 bucks and they could not even make a proper product for this amount (for those who have not seen it, it is just a slice of Death Star instead of a sphere). I hope they will not continue on this trend. I am ready to pay 1,000 Euros for a full Minas Tirith, but not for just a slice of Minas Tirith...

Same here! We need a Lego sandworm :-)
-
I think that even if the book nook does not sell well, they will still make a few more big sets which have proven to be successful (starting with Minas Tirith next year hopefully).
-
Can't wait to add it to my Mines of Moria display (together with the 2012 set) :-)
-
Could not agree more. Would have probably fallen on my sword if it had looked like that awful BrickHeadz :-)
-
I think it is because you wrote Shire with a t instead of r ;-)
-
Honestly I am happily surprised, I was expecting much worse for a book nook. This could even integrate well with my Mines of Moria set. Will definitely get it, but maybe not on day one this time (doubt that it comes with a gwp)
-
My Shire was shipped yesterday April 3, just one day after I ordered it. Not bad, if you ask me :-)
-
We already have Helm's Deep (maybe not all of us, but many of us have it). I hope we get at least one Gondor set before getting more remakes.
-
Haha :-) I have quite a few white sets (mostly star wars and space) and most of them are still white so far, even after 10 years. But yeah in the long run, who knows...
-
If they do make Minas Tirith, I really hope it is the whole city, not just a playset with a couple scenes. In spite of what some people say, after seeing the beautiful existing MOCs, I am convinced it is possible with about 10,000 pieces. And I would have no problem with paying up to 1,000 Euros for it (barely the price of an iphone, if you think of it, and you get to keep it for ever!)
