I'd like to see new animals if at all possible. If not, some repaints would be nice. 1 x Narwhal (or whale) = 5 points 1 x Jaguar = 5 points 1 x Turtle = 3 points 1 x Seagull = 1 points (total=14 points)

Great News! Anyone know how to contact the board games division--and if they will consider taking idea submissions for new games? I've been playing boardgames with Lego pieces for over 20 years, and with only a few games lined up for their launch, I'm hopin' for an openin'! (Seems like Lego never wants actual product designs though... )

Having seen the new Indy minifigure, I need to take back what I said earlier. I am actually becoming excited for this line now that I can see that Lego isn't cutting corners and recylcing the Adventurer's line like I originally feared! :) I've rarely been so glad to be wrong!

Not to rain on everyone's parade, but I have a bad feeling about this... Often, (thought not always), Lego tends to slap these sets together for the quick tie-in buck, (look at Avatar; Spiderman, Jurrasic Park, even Harry Potter to some degree), and when it does so the sets end up being very ho-hum. I'm hoping they don't just recycle all the Adventurers theme pieces in flesh tones, but my expectations are extremely low. Wasn't Adventurers just a rip-off Indy in the first place? I may just wait for the few "new" pieces on Bricklink if my fears are confirmed.

The Red Devil series was sweet, but it came out several years ago and has since been discontinued. The newer sets boast even higher quality--and not everything is stickerized either. Most Lego clones (especially in China/SE Asia) copy the exact molds TLG uses--which never ceases to irritate me. One thing I really like about Oxford is that they use all their own designs. (OK, so the basic bricks look the same--how original are you expected to be with a rectanglular building block?) :-) Here's their website. Hi Justin! I must say I'm impressed with your review (and not just because of the nice things you said about me :-$ ). I love LEGO first and foremost (and probably always will), but back when I lived in Asia I really liked Oxford too. They may be a "clone" brand, but they are extremely original in their designs and even their themes. (Pro-wrestling or American Idol anyone?). Their uber-compatibility with LEGO is also a huge plus over all the other clones. It's difficult (as you mentioned) to get ahold of anything Oxford if you aren't in South Korea, Hong Kong, or Tokyo. (Actually Tokyo was pretty hard too--the Koreans and the Japanese have some very long-standing historical issues--Oxford even has a Korea vs. Japan medieval theme!) I love their sets, but the shipping alone more than doubles their otherwise very decent prices, and no one online sells directly to the US anymore. |-/ For anyone interested, I can occasionally be persuaded to locate sets and/or pieces, but they are never cheap. However, for the serious customizer, Oxford offers truly unique pieces. I'll be sending RedBean some pics to update his accessories page soon--I just got a bunch of Ninja sets with the shipment I got you your Red Devil set in. Off to build, Jared "Gosuke" Stewart PS: Oh--and you don't have to sand or cut off the head stud on Lego minifig's--just hollow out the hollow of the stud by severing that "Y" shaped bit of plastic and the Oxford helms will fit perfectly!
