its from the movie "zulu" thats how its called. (my brother always laughs with that title :-D ) It's the same rubber band I use for my bayonets on my muskets. I must get some more of them. TT
-
if we get some accurate greek hoplites, very fine for me. If we get some accurate roman legionnaires, heaven to me. But don't mix them! They were not the same cultures! (I see a terrible vision... Lego uses silver dragon helmets for Romans...) *runs away in pure madness* TT PS I really support the idea of death Romans or Greeks in the adventurers line!

this is very nice *wub* I'll play it for certain, any chance you can play as soldiers? I'd love to see a game where you play as a napoleonic soldier, and have to fire once, wait 20 sec and for the rest use your bayonet *wub* TT

Hey, I just saw the movie zulu, and loved it. (is it ok for the pirates forum?) I made this little vig after seeing it: enjoy! Gaetano TT (Phredit: change links to picture links)

thank you sir. I do like fleshies very lot, I consider them to be normal. As in my battle for the world folder, you can see that yellow still can be used with fleshies. wich face do you mean with starwars face? I only used 2 harry potter heads and a paul gasol (bb) head. TT

well what you now, it is a sticker, it looked like it was printed :D I based myself on this nice pic: TT

Hi all, this is a bignette, the scenery itself is awful, but its about the figures. No muskets, rifles or arquebusses here because most of the conquistadors troops still used medieval weapons like crossbows because they were more reliable at the time than fire/gunpowder weapons. Comments are welcome as always Gaetano TT (Phredit: links changed to thumblinks)

I'll get some scans from the 4+ big ship (hate that ship), BSB, mybe carribean clipper, and small boat from island. Should get them this afternoon or tomorrow. TT

I'll join this contest for sure! I have selected my target :D TT

maybe for fast communication? :-D I'll go to Waterloo when I have money to buy some things there. I'm already going to Bastogne, saving for a German uniform *sweet* I hate that lion... TT

Armothe, I think producing a french type shako would be better, so we can use the official shako then as the english type. That way most of us I think can manage too arange their armies then. some questions: 1) when will you have the dark gray german helmets on your site? 2) will they be avaible for a longer period, because I'm out of cash now? 3) can I order them painted in for example orange color? Thanks, TT

imperial soldiers of course! reasons: Napoleon from the first pirate sets they got me into lego pirates they... can camouflage into the water? X-D Plus the red soldiers were so few... More officers than soldiers... Gaetano

Any news yet? Gaetano

pretty rare i think... cheapest on bricklink is 2.9 $ it comes in 3 sets: the caribean clipper and 2 rather rare adventurer sets. I got it lucky in a lot of pirate pieces... Is the problem of the shakos already solved? I'll check the thread... thanks for the comments, more are always welcome! Gaetano TT

UPDATE 30 MAY 2007 my bricklink order arrived, I could snatch 11 soldiers for a reasonable price. My army now counts 25 soldiers without Napoleon (wich will get new official clothes). I will place a big order on flesh faces soon. Comments are extremely welcome as always! P.S. 2 bayonets are also added. I'm also going to buy more of those rubber bands. eldorado fortress, the glory of the imperial soldiers! Man, I loved that set. And, (the following comment may hurt some AFOLs) It's a great parts pack for white and yellow plates and bricks. (wich I didn't owe many at the time) Gaetano comming close: BSB: I have it, and it is very nice, but they're not soldiers :p Imperial trading post: it looks great for trading products,... I think good playability Sabre island: the set that got me into pirates and I still don't own... (Or can I make one...?)

POTC 3 - From a Pirate LEGO Fanatics Perspective
Tanotrooper replied to hans-thegreat's topic in LEGO Pirates
well, I'll say it like this: I like fantasy that is possible: 300: Everything in the movie is possible, sometimes on the edge, but it is possible. Star wars: I always liked sci-fic movies, who'll tell what the world will be in the future? And of course, darth vader :D I always loved Gladiator for exemple. I finally found some slow down button, and saw so many errors in the armor in the beginning battle. Gladiator sank... They said they did a lot of research... 300 is pure fantasy, but possible (:p), so they can't be blamed for making it not historical correct. Gaetano. I'll say it like this: I'd rather go and make a assignement in religion class than watching POTC 2 again. -
POTC 3 - From a Pirate LEGO Fanatics Perspective
Tanotrooper replied to hans-thegreat's topic in LEGO Pirates
finally, someone who understands it... why I don't like POTC: 1) they make fools of those british soldiers 2)I think Orlando Bloom can't make any role good... (:shivers: Troy) 3)I don't understand how a ship with ripped sails can be the fastest ship in the world? 4)Its one of those new kind of movies: great visual effects, but a very thin storyline, with actors who don't act convincing enough, but are "good looking" and get a lot of money. Movies like these are: Daredevil, Van Hellsing,...) 5) and of course 5: I hate fantasy (except star wars and 300 :) ). I'm bored watching POTC 2 or all three of the LOTR movies. Why I like POTC: 1) Captain Jack Sparrow always acts like he's drunk or took drugs. The worst of all: I have a few friends (all girls) who watch this movie only for Orlando Bloom and Johhny Depp. How low can movies go... 8-( Sincerely, Gaetano P.S. Me and some friends are making a maffia movie right now, inspired on the Godfather. That's one hell of a good movie. -
do the fake imperial torsos fit with lego bodies? Gaetano

Sets containing piratical and/or complimentary elements!
Tanotrooper replied to Berry Syedow's topic in LEGO Pirates
mr. T... lol And the spider harry potter set is also useful for its long string with studs on the ends. The ferrari pit stop set has also two small strings with studs on the end. Starwars' tusken raider encounter is good for black muskets, some ninja sets have black flintlock rifles and pistols... I have about 20 old brown boats i'd like to sell, so if anyone is interested? (Its dangerous to fill your bucket in legoland when the giant tub of legos is full of brown boats...) Gaetano. P.S. I have placed an alternative idea for english shakos (then the toothpieces can also be considered complimentary elements) in the moc forum. sorry for disturbing you :-D -
you can easily sand down a top hat (makes me remind of top cat lol) to a very straight shako. I would love to see the french shako instead of the official one. Then I only need the official ones for straight shakos. I would be interested in buying 10 to start but that will rise when I have more bodies. Gaetano
-
indeed. These are for general infantry, while the official shakos are better for the english rifles or light infantry. I also made a design for a higlander, I'll try to post this evening. Gaetano
-
that would make a great idea! Romans and pirates! I voted for sabre island, still don't own it, but it got me into lego pirates. Gaetano

Hey, I have made a new design for the English shakos, made of a 1*1 tooth plate, a 1*1 plate and a 1*1 inverted slope. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Tanotroo...-2007shako2.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Tanotroo...-2007shako3.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Tanotroo...-2007shako1.jpg Comments are as always extremely welcome!
