  1. I have/wear an ushanka myself, and the shape (not the colours) of Panaka's cap is similar to it if the ear flaps are put around the neck. But yeah, the colours make this specific piece not really useful for ushankas. (Or is it... It's dark RED isn't it? ) Gaetano
  2. "My rivals back home, it's not that I'm bitter But think how they'll they squirm when they see how I glitter The ladies at court will be all a-twitter The king will reward me, he'll knight me NO lord me It's mine, mine, ..." For those who have not seen Disney's Pocahontas yet: shame on you. Redeem yourself by watching the song: Mine, mine, mine! So this is the first of my Disney figures (from the so called Disney renaissance era) and an odd choice aswell. I was planning on posting Ratcliffe in his purple outfit but I don't have enough purple parts yet to finish him. So since it's basically the same outfit, I used the colours from the song "mine, mine, mine". Governor Ratcliffe leads the Virginia Company, and as soon as they arrive he has his crew digging for gold. Thinking he'll find "MOUNTAINS" of gold, he's already dreaming away, which is where this golden outfit comes into play. The Jack Sparrow head has a smirk and 'scared' face which is great since I can use it for his 'singing' face. The only thing missing is the yellow cape which I have to order from BL. I used two of those dragon capes instead until it arrives. Ironically, the hair is a 'savage' Native American headpiece. As is always the problem with lego, the hair and hat can't be combined which is a shame. Luckily for me, the hat also exists in purple for his regular outfit. I'll work on several others figures as soon as the exams are over. (Normal Ratcliffe, Frollo, ...) I'm also thinking about making brickfilms about certain scenes or songs, but that won't be for any time soon. Comments and constructive criticism are as always very welcome and appreciated! Gaetano
  3. This looks amazing! It really looks like it's a mix of an organic creature and technology. TT
  4. Awesome work Brickdoctor! I haven't really thought about using skeleton legs instead of regular legs, but it works out great. Might have to try something similar in the future. TT
  5. Happy birthday Iamded! Hope you have a great day. Gaetano
  6. Thank you, and it was fun meeting you aswell. No alcohol for me anymore though! I tend to get sleepy and loose my focus... Cola on the other hand does the complete opposite so I'll stick with that. Are you coming to Brickmania in Wilrijk at the end of this year? (It's near Antwerp, that's the closest BeLUG event to the Netherlands as far as I know. ) I have an upcoming ship project to discuss. @Big Cam: thanks, and I suppose you're right! I've found some good deals today and got two Hoth sets and a POTC set. Those would be my birthday presents I suppose. Happy with them. That being said, the multiquote won't work for me and it's driving me nuts. You're supposed to select the posts you want to quote and then press reply on the bottom one, right? Cheers, Tano
  7. Thank you both! Gaetano
  8. On second thought, I think I do prefer cake over death. Now there's a lovely cake! Thank you all for the congratulations. Gaetano
  9. Thank you all! Doesn't matter, the cake is a lie anyway! Cheers, Gaetano
  10. Hello Captain Bayonet, it's always a pleasure seeing someone else use this design. The figure looks nice, I like the asymmetric look of the legs. About the size, this is a plate higher than my regular TTfigs, but I use this size aswell when I need to make tall figures like grenadiers, Darth Vader, ... Especially the tooth piece as a chin guard only works when the legs (minus the feet) are 5 plates tall. Good work! 'Tano
  11. My condolences.
  12. Only one title for me, but I'm very happy with it! TT Commander I received this title very shortly after making Star Wars themed TTfigs and posting them on the EB Star Wars forums. Gaetano
  13. Chuck norris? Does look like him. I haven't seen any movies or so of him so I don't know any quotes by him. TT
  14. Thank you both for your input and comments. I think I'll put the "III" higher to distinguish step 2 and 3 better. (A black line would ruin the look a bit I think.) TT
  15. Greetings! I've finally managed to create instructions for my TTfigs, as requested by several people: Since these are meant to be printed and handed out at events, could you all look and see if you can follow the instructions without any troubles or confusion? These need to be able to explane the technique to someone who has a basic knowledge of LEGO, so if you find something that bothers you, let me know! TT
  16. My God, that was hilarious! And a very good review aswell. I too would like to see a revival of the Belville theme, but it appearss it will be replaced by a minifig girl theme somewhere in the future. TT
  17. Why thank you, thank you all! I'm hoping to get a century of them together in the following months so that'll look even more impressive. (I'm anxious to see how the testudo would work out.) TT
  18. Thank you all for commenting, much appreciated! He is quite poseable, but the epaulettes need to be removed to give his arm a bit more range when doing action shots. I'm glad the rapier/foil was released with such a short handle. At first I didn't like it for the foil, but it worked out great for the pilum. TT
  19. Salve! I'll be working on several figures and scenes from the Ancient Antiquity, most notably Romans but other cultures aswell. (Greek scenes will finally become a reality thanks to the Spartan Collectible Minifigure.) The focus of these MOCs will be historical accuracy, and highlighting periods of the Antiquity that are often forgotten or misinterpred. (Republican Rome for example.) To start off, perhaps one of the most recognisable troops of the era (well, next to the Classical Greek hoplite): the Roman legionair from the 1st-2nd Century AD. This was the time when Rome reached the height of its power, and when the Pax Romana (the peace within the Empire itself) was (more or less) sustained. (No civil wars that tore the Romans apart and rebellions such as in Judea were succesfully crushed.) After many, many years (that would be around 6, I have done everything from purist to custom) I have finally come up with a sturdy, bent scutum design that can also be decorated like the original. I actually got the idea for this design while sitting in my Ancient Antiquity class. The pilum is also a new design. This version, with the ball-shaped weight was introduced later on than the regular one with the trapezoid base. The extra weight made it more accurate and easier to throw. And I was able to use my Latin aswell. Foolish are those who say it's a useless class at school! Well this is it for now, but I'm working on some Republican Romans which I'll hopefully be able to post soon. Comments and constructive criticism are as always appreciated! TT
  20. This is an outstanding MOC! You managed the capture the feel of Venice perfectly like the architecture and the degrading lower levels of the houses. Many excellent details aswell, especially the bird and the postcard stand. TT
  21. I saw the sets on shop@home and thought the same thing... The sets themselves aren't available in stores anymore. (I was able to get one half price a few months ago.) I don't know about the wacky prices, but they do seem to be still available on shop@home so I'd try that or visiting a Legoshop. TT
  22. Thanks for the comments! I tried the same thing when making the blasters, but the bar just sticks out too much to look good. With that brick at the end of the blaster though, the battle droid can grip it with the left hand. I have enough clips to make about 40 of them in tan, and I'll make some in the RC sheme. I won't be able to make the Geonosis version at the moment though since the droid arms don't exist in dark red and the rest of the parts don't exist in sand red. TT
  23. I play it regularely, but on PS3. The only platform never to receive ANY additional content... (I have excellent sniping skills for a PS3 player BTW ) I am however planning on getting it for PC though in the near future, so I'd join the guild TT
  24. Greetings all, I'm sorry these get posted so late. They previewed on the BeLUG event at Tielt earlier this month, and thanks to the series 4 raffle I finally took pictures of them. B1 and OOM series battle droids From left to right: B1 battle droid (infantry), OOM series commander, OOM series security, OOM series pilot. The OOM series was programmed more intelligently and had a somewhat higher form of independence. The OOM series was used as the basis for the B1 series, which could be mass produced. The most famous battle droid was OOM-9, the battle droid commander who commanded the invasion force during the invasion of Naboo. One note here: the commander uses only one antenna here, while he uses two in the movies. If I wanted two antennae, I'd have to resort to the grill piece and this doesn't represent the slender look of the commander backpack well. My battle droid design compared to the original. While not superarticulated, they can strike better poses than the official one and I can replicate unique colour designs like those from Republic Commando. Comments and criticism are as always very appreciated! TT
  25. Battle droids in action! The official droid is overwhelmed and can only watch in silence as his FOUR more articulated brothers strike awesome action poses. TT
