Eurobricks Event 2018 - Sign-up topic
Keter replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Hi all) Will be there with my wife same time) Want to join you!) -
Great, tanks! Will try it soon!
-
It is a good Idea. Now I have a pause with project becouse of some other work. But will continue it soon. Next step is to make a borders of each Guild on the map, if somebody could help me, welcome!
-
Ok, will make Ulandus bigger. About disputed lands, I know that they are not clearly defined, but I think that we should do it if we want this project work good.
-
Will make it whan understand what I need from them) Thanks! I want to make it as easy updatable as possible) Yeah, I think so. I also want to add some new territories which wasnt at original map. I hope that it wouldnt be a problem for old players. Yeah! That sounds great! Need to make contours of territories in SVG format! I will write you PM when finish map in photoshop.
-
Yeah I will check free tools at first. But some of them havent got all functional could be needed. SVG is a vector graphic format, JS mean Javascript. Thats what I need for interactive map.
-
Now I dont using any hostings or domens. But they dont cost much and I think that I could pay for them from my own money in the future. Will try both variants. Now I think that for first-step map it doesnt need. Titles would be too small and users wouldnt see them clear. Anyway all geographical objects I would make for second-step map and if it would be needed I will copy them to first-step map. Or will make a trigger for users to show mountains, trees and deserts on first step map or not, as they want. But now it is not main task for me. Map viewing could be changed after beta-testing of site before relised. Now SVG-JS functional is more harder task which I should work with.

Thanks for your large answer! About third-step map - I dont think that it would be done in nearest time. May be it would be as addition at the future, but dont sure. For me the main deal are first-step and second-step maps. About Kaliphlin - have I got something wrong on my geographical map now? I want to make this project for active members. It should add a lite competition to the GoH life. I want to make some counters (to know what guild is more active) and events, special trophies for active members and other interactive functions. My idea that each MoC should be added by an active member who registered on the Map site. It also would add points for this member and his guild. Probably old MoCs would be added to the database, but it would be done by moderators and wouldn't care in the score. . Yeah, next step I will change rivers on avalonian island. Now I will try to make a plan of work and after it I could say what could be done.
-
Hi! Thanks, but this map will work mostly with geographical objects, not politycal.
-
All elements would be on the detailed map. I will try to explain more clearly now. I want to make not one map, but two or three. First-step map would show full GoH World: four guilds, Varlyrio, Frozen beyond... Here I want to show borders (in color scheme of guilds). But if we will try to put all objects on these map we will have a problem: they would be too small (or we will need a map with very high scale and large weight) So if we put all info on this map - users wouldn't see it clearly. So I want to create second-step map separatly for each guild. User click on Avalonia at the "color" map and see new window with separate Avalonian map. Here we could show all elements as cities, roads, mountains or something else. Such map will look like maps each guild have now at their main pages. This map would be splited with using SVG and JS by interactive regions. Mistic Isles - is an interactive region. If user hover it on second-step map he would see info about MoCs on it. I also have a plan for creating third-step map. But it is a realy hard-realized plan: user could click Mistic isles and see more detalised third-step map with each city, road, cave, settlement on each isle. If we do such detailed map we could use my plan with markers. GoH member would be able to create a marker for new objects they want to build for. It would be a world-creating functional where each member could make something new for GoH world. We couldnt do this functional at the second-step map becouse this way it also would have too much objects on a low-scale map and would be not clear for users. Third-step map is a realy hard work that would need many hours in photoshop. I dont sure we need it now, and anyway I couldnt do it alone. Please ask me if you dont understand something. I know that I am not good in english. I will try to explain more and more clear if it would be need.

Thanks, will try dark red or red color! But I dont know Nocturnus borders yet( -
Start working with mountains and forests for detailed map. I think that mountains are good, but dont sure about forest. How do you think: is this style ok? Or I should add more types of trees? Could somebody help me to find more png trees?

Thanks a lot! Will wait for Mitgardia detailed map.

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Keter replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Hi all! I am working on interactive GoH map now and have some questions to all Avalonia members. What color would be best for your guild? (I need it to paint territory of Avalonia). As I know it is green, am I right? Also would be good if somebody could paint Avalonian borders on this map: GoH map v2 by Evgeny Susekov, on Flickr I also want to know how much people are interested in my project. If you are interested in it or have some ideas, please, write a comment in my topic. Thanks a lot, Best regards Evgeny -

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Hi all! I am working on interactive GoH map now and have some questions to all Kaliphlin members. What color would be best for your guild? (I need it to paint territory of Kaliphlin). As I know it is blue, am I right? Also would be good if somebody could paint Kaliphlin borders on this map: GoH map v2 by Evgeny Susekov, on Flickr I also want to know how much people are interested in my project. Thanks for your answer. I think that would be not a problem to make an interface were each member could chose what variant of map he want to see: detailed or not. I am working with this map as with many layers, not as one object. So it will be not hard to try many variants. But I want to start with easiest version of map. I am doing it alone now and it would be hard to me to do all details. I want to make all basic functional at start and see reaction of GoH members. I dont want to spend hundred hours and close project becouse no one need it. Now It is only my enthusiasm. I will write to the guild treads now, thanks for this idea! UPDATE: What about Cedrica? As I understood it is not a guild, but it is not only the city, it have it's own territory?
-
I thought about zoom function and think that it is not a good way at this step of map. As I sad before I want to make many interactive functions as counters of MoCs of each guilds, guild events and other. So each guild should be as the separate object. So there would be three interactive steps of map. 1) Full map of four guilds. (the map I posted at previous message). Each guild painted at own color. No mountains, forests or cities on the map. Here user could hover on each guild and see info about it: members, history, races, counters of MoCs and other. 2) User could click on guild teritory at previous map and see a detailed map of it (with zoom function). Here user would see all objects as cities, forests, mountains, roads and other. User could hover mountains (or other object) and see it's name, description and qty of mocs on it. If user click on object he will go to the new window with list of MoCs, their info, description and url to the topics on EB. I wrote many words about markers. Now I have two variants. 1) We dont use markers. We dont need them if map of guild with separate large objects would be last step. This case with using markers we would have too much of them and wouldnt see map clear. 2) Each large object on detailed guild map is also clickable. User could click on the mountains and see very detailed and realistic map with all small caves, roads, settlements, small rivers, lakes and other small and concrect objects. This way markers would be good way. But here we should do a realy hard work with map. ANd I know that I couldnt do it alone. So I think that at the first version of interactive map we start without markers, but with separate clickable and hoverable objects. So I need a colors and borders for the large maps of all guilds.

Yes, Varlyrio, but it would be in a special "box".
-
Thanks for your answer! Anyway I think the best way now to finish Interactive map with all territories we already have. This is map V2. Please check it and write if I lost something or did something wrong. (Varlyrio would be in a special "box" and I will change rivers on large Avalonian island in V3) GoH map v2 by Evgeny Susekov, on Flickr Could somebody draw borders of guilds on my map? And what colours would be better for each guild?
-
I have a question to all GoH members. I work with map now and want to make some new places on it. May be icles or undergrownds or new cities. When interactive map will be finished I want to start some events with them. How do you think - would it be OK or not? Do you want new places in GoH? Or you think that GoH is OK now and dont need something new?
-
Ok, thanks! I think that our interactive map wouldnt have info about any political borders, I think would be better to use geographic regions for it. But anyway rivers would be done correctly.
