  1. Thanks very much mate @Jack Sassy i really appreciate that, as I said above I've been following alot of these awesome builders on here for years now so it's been fun to finally show off one of my own models
  2. After being a huge Marvel and Dr Strange fan for countless years I finally went out and bought the Modular Sanctum Sanctorum set as Ive been after to add in to my lego city since it was released. but once I finally got it in hand last October I found that I was really let down by the actual size of the the building and the interior as it felt really crammed in. I absolutely loved the look of the set on the outside and the different building techniques the designers used to make it but I knew that I was going to go and really try to expand on it and to make it my own. "Bleecker St" After really researching online for different shots of the physical filming sets and rewatching the films constantly to catch any small details for some good reference pictures last november, I began to build my moc. The build encompasses 2 of the original Sanctum sets as i managed to buy just the build again on ebay for significantly cheaper, and then I made a fair few different brick link orders to help me continue and complete building. "Different perspectives of the Sanctum Sanctorum" I started out building it in small sections just whenever I had some free time and now after 4 months of building on and off I feel like I've got it to a stage where I'm really happy with it. Don't get me wrong I've still got a few extensions I would like to add in at some point but I'm pretty happy with how it's all turned out. "Get Lost Squidward" "The Children of Thanos" One of the key aspects of the original set that I loved and wanted to keep true too was the modular aspect of the build so in my moc I've managed to keep it so that all 3 floors can still be taken apart floor by floor to access the different levels allot easier. Font get me wrong there is still parts of the moc where smaller sections still need to be removed to get full access but I tried to incorporate that in to the build as I went floor by floor. Unlike the original set where at the edges of the sanctum would just be a harsh corner I've added in the angled corners like the building has in the films, I've also made each floor taller by at least 1 or 2 blocks. I used some of the extra banister peices to change up the design of the lamp posts out side to give them a more intricate design and I also added in the small black fencing to the front of the Sanctum to match the films look. For the main exterior of the building I've tried to keep it in a similar way to the original set but I've expanded it out allot and added in alot more pillars to replicate the exterior look that can be seen in No way home. "Street View" "Sling Ring Portal opening" "Matt Murdock passing By the Exterior Kitchen Door" "Sanctum Enterance way" "Strange on the Grand Stairs from the Enterance" On the inside of the ground floor I've added in the small doorway space and fairly increased the floor space of the main hall. I've increased the size of the stair case to help make it look grander as its always the main focus of the scenes when it appears on film. I tries to use some angled walls and hinged areas to help give the space that more rounded feel the room has in the films as well as using the dark blue bricks to create the wall paper instead of just having the exterior bricks showing on the interior. I've done this on all of the other floors of the build as well. "Looking into the main hallway" "Sanctum front Enterance and Lobby" "Did you Seriously just say hither to undreamt of?" "Are you Seriously leaning on the cauldron of the cosmos" "Door portal enterance and lobby utility door enterance" "Sling Ring Portal to the Sanctum's Attic" "Hidden detail behind the doors" "View down the stairs to the lobby" "View on to the fireplace from first landing" I've added in a few small desks and different couches and seating to match the films. One of the main things I really wanted to do was have a portal opened up in this room with the main window from the attic showing to create the illusion that Strange or wrong had just portaled down. I also focused alot on building up the fire place area that can be seen in No Way Home. "No Way Home Scene Recreation" "Door Leading to Kitchen from lobby" "Fire Place" Some of the smaller areas that can be seen on the ground floor include the small part of the kamertaj library where the time stone was kept. I always liked this small part of the original build so I made sure to keep it hidden away somewhere so I kept it in the corner of the build where a portal could open out to an alley way. There is a door way the leads to this area in the main room of the Sanctum bit I've put the doorway portal to the dark dimension there as a small not to the door way portal that's in that area of the Sanctum in the films. "Ground level overview" - showing back rooms " "Kamer Taj Library - Portal View" "Kamer Taj Overview" "Time Stone over head view" "Alleyway View with portal and 2nd level open Monster panel" The Next small room just under the main stairs is a small access room with some piping and circuit boards to make it look like the facilities room. It has a back door leading out to the alley way as well as an open hole where I plan to eventually expand the Sanctum and build the under croft from No Way Home. "Lobby Door to Facilities room" "Sanctums Circuit Boards" "Overview of Facilities with opening to lower basement level" "Look down to the Sanctums Basement Level" "Back Alleyway enterance to the Sanctum Sanctorum" "Overview of Back Alleyway" The last room along to the back right corner of the build is a small kitchen space where I've used the fridge from the main set and have added in a cooker and some small worktops and a sink. Both of these areas have a door leading to the exterior areas as well as a door that takes you out to under the Grand stair case like can be seen in the films. "View onto exterior kitchen door" "Looking down onto the kitchen space "Looking down onto the Kitchen workspace" "Kitchen Overview" "Kitchen From the Lobby door" On to the 2nd floor I've built up the stairs that split up and off to the sides a bit more to better fit a minifig. On the first small landing I've kept the book case design that was used in the original set but I've completely changed the size and spacing of them. The main change I made here was to remove the door portal play feature as in the films its much further back so I've started to build out the corridor that leads down towards this room. "Overview of the main Sanctum Sanctorum lobby and balcony floors" "Upper landing of the Grand Staircase" "Looking down on The Grand Staircase" "First Landing and balcony Area without the Upper staircase" "Book Shelves and monster wall" "Small seating area and display cabinets on balcony area without the Upper staircase in the way"" "balcony Area with the display cases without the Upper staircase in the way" "Balcony and display area without the Upper staircase in the way" "First landing with the enerance to the back corridor and balcony Area without the Upper staircase" I've left a whole out the back as I plan on extending out to that room once I get a chance and have more money to buy the extra parts. Above this I made a small rooftop area with a small water tower and some space for another hero such as Spidey or Daredevil to perch on and jump out to action. "The Devil of Hells Kitchen on the lower Roof top" "Lower buildings rooftop with water tower, behind the Sanctum" "THWIP" Following the stairs round I've made the balcony area extend right around the room unlike the set, with some different dr strange style pictures decorating the walls and ive added in a few small trinkets in cases like the tesseract or Dr Stranges watch he got from Kristine. I kept the interchangeable wall with the large monster creature feature as I really liked how this worked in the original set. Next to that is the small seating area next to some book shelves that can be seen in the Thor ragnarok scenes where Thor visits strange to ask about odin. "Looking down onto the lobby past the stair case" "Look at Stairs in place on balcony level" "Overview of the Sanctum with the stairs added in" "General look at 2nd floor" One of the biggest bug bears I had with the original set was the lack of stairs to the attic area of the Sanctum as it was a huge part of the films cinematography and I always loved that shot of Strange walking up to the large attic window. So I built a staircase that leads from the balcony and and swings up towards the attic window to help recreate that scene. "Dr Strange walking Towards the Attic Window" This can be removed to give better access to the balcony area and the lower floors but I feel that I get it to fit in quite well with the rest of the build. "Stairway to the Attic - Removed from build" On to my favourite areas of the build the attic space. I love how this area looks in the films with the different display cases, trinkets and relics all out on display. So I tried to best showcase this as much as I could adding more in with different interesting parts I found from some ninjago sets and other different lego themes. I tried to cram in as many different references as I could from things like the Shambala WiFi password to frog Thor chilling in the back of the room. "Strange entering the attic" "Side view of the Attic" "General look at the attic space" < "Look at the Sanctums display cases' "Overview of the whole Sanctum Attic Space and stair well" I made the space at the large window larger to that Dr Strange could fit and gaze out of the window as he usually would in the films and comics. As well as the different display cabinets I added in some old armour displays a desk for strange to work from and a place for Cloakie to hang from. At the far back I built up a small staircase that could lead up to the Sanctums roof top. For the flooring I used the same technique as the ground floor to help make it look a bit more interesting and keep the connection to the rest of the build. "Look at the display cases and Cloakie's display" "Back of the Attic" "Front of the Attic" "Looking over to Strange at the Window" "Strange looking out over New York" Now up to the roof I've raised the height if the surrounding walls to make it minifig height to help recreate the scene from endgame where Dr Banner interacts with the Ancient one. I've kept the chimney builds but have added in a small seating areas with some recliner chairs and a table for the ancient ones tea. I also built the base of a disused water tower and added in the small greenery and planting area that could be seen in the back. I used the door from the original infinity war Sanctum set for the exterior door way on the roof. I know that the location of the door might not be 100% accurate but I wanted to keep the flow of the build and have a staircase connecting each floor. "Roof space in perspective" "Left side of the rooftop" "Backside of the rooftop" "Right side of the rooftop" "Look at the water tower structure" "Rooftop over looking Hulk on a recliner chair" "Side view of the roof top" "The Sacred timeline" Eventually I'd love to build onto the back of the Sanctum to create Stranges bedroom corridor that leads to the doorway portals that the original set features. As well as another building on the left of the Sanctum to add an apartment building similar in design to Peters apartment from the 2018 set. So I've left some connector bricks at each side to help me build out and connect them all with ease and ive left space to create a small alleyway that leads to the portal to kamertaj. "Exterior shot next to the Daily Bugle for Scale" "View of side of Sanctum next to the Bugle for Scale" "Ariel view of the Sanctum in Scale with the Daily Bugle" Thanks for bearing with me as I went through my build, I hope you've enjoyed taking a look at my moc as much as i enjoyed building it. I e been a watcher on these forums for a number of years now so it was pretty fun to finally take part and post something out into the community. I'd love to hear what you guys think and any feed back you might have on it. I can't wait do do something similar to this once I eventually get the Avengers tower set sometime in the future.
  3. This is such an awesome moc, great job. I love your Delorean, would love to build one like that myself at some point
  4. These sets look great, cant wait to see some better quality images of the mini figs, especially baby groot and yondu.
  5. Thanks a lot Cody these Lando decals are absolutely Awesome! cant wait to try and apply them to a minifig, thanks again for your help.
  6. Hey folks This is an animation that I created with my friend Alex to represent our duke of Edinburgh walk, we spent around 140hrs on making this film over the course of 7 weeks, using a mixture of Lego, plasticine and model grass and trees. Weve hidden over 50 different references to some of our favourite movie or tv shows throughout the movie. Hope you enjoy the movie
  7. That's an awesome torso decal, you've really captured the look of his robe's great work . I really wish Lego released Old Luke as a fig, but Disney probably wont let them until episode 8's out . also are you going to do a face decal for him as well?
  8. I really like the new belt piece for batman. it'll be great for mocs and builds where batman's been captured by a villain and they've taken away his belt so he cant escape, just like in the 60's Adam West show. This piece would even let you give joker a utility belt just like he had in an episode on the show . I don't think that they have printed the belt on the torso though . The printing would need to be pretty low and cross on to the minifig hips for the belt piece to hide it.
  9. I love your pipeline set and your flash v zoom set. your designs are awesome really hope that your star labs makes it to 10,000 on Lego ideas. keep up the great work
  10. I really like the new han solo minifig, the hair looks great. but I just got the last death star last x-mas so I cant justify buying the new one . I might try to brick link the new han though
  11. no I'm not quite sure yet on how I'm going to apply the decal but any advice would be welcome as I've never attempted to apply decals on lego before. thanks for replying Cody
  12. Hi guys just found this thread today. Is there any chance that anyone could attempt these decals for me, the face and torso designs of an older Lando Calrissian as seen here http://media.comicbook.com/2016/04/lando-maz-lego-180748-1280x0.jpg and if possible could you also do a decal for his back Thanks
  13. This is the best Lego 1989 batmobile I've seen! awesome job getting the smooth curves on the front turbine and capturing the sleekness of the original car. I love the back of the car as well, really cool detailing and the fact that you managed to keep the car very low to the ground as well is awesome. great job
  14. R.I.P Kenny Baker. another cinema legend gone. had the pleasure of meeting him a few years ago.
  15. That new arkham sounds awesome, glad were getting Aaron cash another civilian/ named cop loved his character in the arkham games, I wonder if there will be any references to the batman arkham games in the set, wonder who the 3 unnamed villains are as well really hopping for some new villains like black mask or ventriloquist. It would also be interesting if this new arkham can attach to the older set. The batcave sounds awesome as well cant wait for another chance to get Alfred ,it would be cool if there's extra signs/name tags for other bat suits in the cmf range and other sets so you can swap them around.
