Yeah, I never thought they'd add anything to them after cutting down on the amount. Sadly, it just seems like they had to downgrade/cute down on them in order to cut costs. It's happening with a lot of things in recent years, including other toy lines and products. It's really bad for consumers, if you ask me. In the case of CMFs, I prefer more variety, not less.

I would not mind that personally, though wasn't there a rumor that Sep 2024's CMF would be series 26?

Yeah, that would be amazing, tbh. There'd be much speculation from such a set as well, I imagine it'd be a hot topic of conversation with everyone trying to guess what gets used.

I collect them, actually. I wish they were talked about more too. I always feel really alone when collecting these since nobody seems to care about them much.

Very possible. I collect Happy Meal toys (...er, used to), and McD's and DIsney have gotten quite chummy lately, and most of the promotions have been Disney. Every so often there'll be something from a different studio, like the current Mario one, but a lot of them have been related to Disney. I was excited when Disney and McD's reunited back when it was first announced in 2018, but ever since then, it's gotten pretty boring to mostly get Disney stuff rather than other ones.

Yes, exactly. There's plenty of characters in Sonic to be able to justify a CMF line, plus there'd be the variants (like Super Sonic). And like you said, Spaceman, a CMF set would compliment the theme plus save them some money by not having to produce a ton of sets to include new characters in.

Yeah, wanted to quote this for truth. I'm a bisexual (and yes, I have to say this or people just assume I'm a bible thumping homophobe), and I hate seeing people and characters pigeonholed into stereotypes based on their sexuality and other traits like religion. Sure, there are gay men that are flamboyant and enjoy pink, femenine hobbies, etc, it feels like the media wants to push that this is an inherent trait in gay/queer men. A lot of the time, based on my observation, it leads to a lot of confusion and people feeling they must act a certain way in order to 'be gay'. Anyway, all that said, love this new set. Love basically all the new characters, and their designs. Love the color schemes being used. More so than the sexuality representation, I do like seeing disabilities being addressed since I don't see as much of that in most media. I really hope the characters surprise me, and transcend stereotypes, and are super enjoyable in the animations.

Same. I have to agree. I feel like they haven't even covered the tip of the iceberg yet for Disney. Harry Potter is another good one for a series 3 continuation.

Yeah, I think one of the leaks confirmed the third CMF is something never done before, so I'd rule out something like Disney. I can see Disney series 3 coming out in 2022. Though has any licensed CMF gotten more than 2 series tops?

As far as I know, undetermined. I haven't seen any proof that it will be.

I have to agree with you. I think the most likely choice is Marvel, and it's also what I'd want most from these options.

Possibly, though that's kind of silly. The Simpsons is one thing, Disney is a whole different beast. Not only is there a wider demographic for Disney (I bet few kids got either of the Simpsons CMFs), there's so many movies and shows that they can pick various characters from. There was much more hype for the Disney CMF than for Simpsons as well, I remember the news of the set going all over social media...because Disney has a strong brand.

If we do, I'm betting the fourth set will be Disney CMF s2.

That's what I'm thinking. The Batman series might justify the price increase due to the licensing and extra figures in the line.

I really hope they do. I actually like themed CMFs (and yes, licensed sets as well :p). We already got Halloween, and as a fan of Christmas, I'd love to see them tackle that. There's a lot of cute possibilities like a snowman, guy in reindeer costume, santa, elf, etc. I agree. There's just so much they can do with Disney, and themed sets alone just might not cut it. Some shows/movies probably would lend themselves better to have individual mini figures than a full-on set. And depending on which characters they use, I think they would sell like hotcakes. I think s1 sold remarkably well, even with people who don't normally collect CMFs.
