  1. Made some changes to the castle. Right one is the updated castle.
  2. I wonder if more castle sets will come out within the next year. This one is kinda meh. I'm waiting for them to do one similar to the rejected Lego Idea castle ones.
  3. Happy to fork out $450 if Lego broke even or made a loss last year. But no, record profits.
  4. No way I'm paying $600 for a set that's not even as good as the 10,000 supporter Lego idea castles
  5. If the set is going to be the one from the Back to the Future video, it doesn't look very good at all. But at 4,500 pieces, I can't imagine it ending up looking like what was shown in that video. Though the artistic rendition makes it look very similar to it. I think the majority of the not approved castles I've seen in Lego ideas look better than the one in the video. LEGO IDEAS - Discover
  6. Honestly, need to see the real model. The castle in the Back to the Future video had a lot of BURPs, can't see how it adds up to 4500 pieces.
  7. Would you rather have 1000 more pieces or 10 more minifigs? 3,500 pieces and 20 minifigs vs. 4,500 pieces and 10 minifigs.
  8. +2. Need to make up for the lack of normal castle sets in the past decade with a large set.
  9. 'Demand being saturated' lol. I think Lego's been interpreting this way for the past 10 years :D
  10. I would be happy with any of the last 4 pictures. Previous disappointments from Lego have set my expectations for this set lower than these 4 however.
  11. Like the awful Assault on Hoth set. That was so bad. If Lego does a Castle themed minifigure series, I might buy the 60 figure box.
  12. The right side of the front gate in this image is two large old-school window piece side-by-side. Left bottom corner is literally 3 angle pieces one on top of another. The medieval castle is good for $99, but for the $350 set to look like it is just lazy. (Many people wouldn't buy 3 sets of the 31220, if this is essentially 3.5 sets of the medieval castle, that's just weak.) I just can't imagine the final product being so sloppy and weak. This can't be it. If it is, for $350, I think I'll pass. I can build something better from pieces on bricklink with $350. $350 is not pocket change.
  13. If that's the list, I want 80% parts, 13% minifigs and 7% animals. So that's 6000 pieces, 8 minifigures, 4 animals (horses/goats only). I'm happy with that, got plenty of castle minifigures from the past. Rather that than 4000 pieces, 25 minifigures, 8 animals.
  14. That Daily building was pretty bad. I rather Lego put effort into the building vs. Figs. Of course given no licence, both should be done well.
  15. In this day and age, and in a $350 set, I don't think they should be using those old-school castle wall pieces.
  16. At 350 euro and with no license, I expect at least 5000 pieces.
  17. $350 should get us something like this but 2x wider with like 15 minifigures?
  18. Day one purchase. Might buy two. Price is not a concern - if it was cheaper, it would've been a bigger concern. It's been a decade since the last real castle. We are overdue for a modern, large and detailed one.
  19. Great creation! If you have a say in how much Lego changes your design in the final official release, please do try to see if you can convince them to keep the colour scheme similar to the original, at least for the brightness of the colour tones. We've seen the treehouse and medieval blacksmith become 2x brighter in their final models and it just makes the build less attractive/realistic (which I think is your intent). Also, if they are going to turn your beautiful trees into brick trees because of stability/illegal building method rationales, I think most supporters of your design would rather have no trees at all then (at least then, we pay less for the final build). Again, great design! Congrats and I hope the final official model will keep the attractive features of your original design.
  20. It will definitely be similar to the treehouse or medieval blacksmith: bright colours, simplified, as Lego CITY-like as possible.
  21. I find solace in the Medieval Blacksmith
  22. Thanks! Yes, the top part of the two towers are separable (and interchangeable). Also, the two towers can be separated, as well as the front wall. So there are 5 pieces here in total. Unfortunately, I don't have too many bricks left to expand. My ideal MOC would be smaller than this but higher quality. I see some MOC around that aren't too big but really nice looking!
  23. Hi all! Sharing my castle MOC based off of 7946. Looking for some constructive feedback on how to make it better. Thanks!
