Amsterdam Gift Shop - Modular Building
brickcitydepot replied to brickcitydepot's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks for all the comments and being put on the front page. My brother might come out with 1 more Amsterdam building but I am diving full on into San Francisco at the moment. -
Thanks for the comments guys. I had fun building this one and I am almost done with another 16 wide San Fran house.

B-RM-07C This is our first in a series of San Francisco houses. This Victorian style house was modeled after several houses in San Francisco. It has a garage, with working door, and a workshop on the lower level. There is a kitchen and a foyer on the middle floor and upstairs there is a bedroom and bathroom. eBay user sells instructions for other builder's MOCs
brickcitydepot replied to Badsneaker's topic in LEGO Town
If you are referring to the auction I pointed out he bought the instructions from me and turned around and listed them for sale. He did not reverse engineer anything. It is like he bought a movie and turned around and was selling digital versions of it online. I am not sure how this is a grey area. -

I sent a message to the seller and marktplaats. So I am not sure who took it down. -

I found another tool that thinks being a thief is fun. http://kind-baby.marktplaats.nl/speelgoed-duplo-en-lego/542658201-modular-lego-beschrijving-voor-san-francisco-panden-10224.html gaddo@live.nl is the sellers email address. He is selling some of my instructions against my will on that website. pathetic swine -
Great job on this. The custom stickers really help bring it alive. The architecture of the building is really recognizable. The mechanic looks great too.

B-OM-17B This hotel was modeled after one end of the Amstel Hotel in Amsterdam. This is our third in a series of Amsterdam buildings. The hotel features French Renaissance architecture. The first floor is a lobby with a front desk, stairs, a fountain, chairs, and a bathroom. The second floor has stairs and a door to a patio. The third level has 2 rooms for the guests. I was wary of the roof at first but it turned out better than I was expecting. You have captured the France look perfectly. I like the use of 1x1 tiles as plates or bowls.

Awesome. Thanks for the comments guys and blogging it. I put a link on my mocpages to the post.

[pid][/pid]211C Here is my entry for the Jolly Roger III contest for the Pirate Town category. This is my biggest MOC so far and it took me a long time as you can imagine. There is a small section of a larger fort that overlooks the bay and the town itself. I had fun creating all the different houses, trying to make them different and including different roof styles. The layout of the town was much smaller at first and went through several different iterations before I decided on this one. I wanted curved streets and for the buildings to curve around and have the buildings follow the road. Here is the main picture and several more. You can see more pictures of it on mocpages. I wanted to find out how to get my website banner added to the list of recommended Sites on the front page. thanks for any help www.brickcitydepot.com

I will echo everyone's comments and say that this is a masterpiece. You really have thought of everything and all the interior details make it stand out. All the techniques you used shows that you want to build differently and that you have a good eye for what a part can be other than the standard use for it.

B-RM-5D This is my brothers third completed modular building. They are a pair of houses typical of Amsterdam that line the streets of the canals. The blue house features an office downstairs with a detailed bathroom and stairs that lead up to the 2nd floor which has a living area and a kitchen with a toaster, food processor and a dishwasher. The third floor has a bedroom and a bathroom with a glass sink, shower stall and towel rack. The brown house has a living area and kitchen on the first level. The second floor has a bedroom and computer desk and the third floor is a drafters office. Corner Shop & Apartments - Modular Building
brickcitydepot replied to brickcitydepot's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks I sent you a message. -
B-OM-11E This is our newest Modular building. I have been working on this one off and on since the start of October. This Neo-Dutch Renaissance styled building was based off of a corner store in Amsterdam in Muntplein Square. The real building can be seen here: I made the first floor a jewelery store. The 2nd floor has 2 apartments and the third floor contains a large apartment which is a bachelor pad. eBay user sells instructions for other builder's MOCs
brickcitydepot replied to Badsneaker's topic in LEGO Town
This is Brian from brickcitydepot.com. Someone alerted me to someone named miskolc_downtown who was selling my higgins boat instructions on another auction website. http://www.vatera.hu/item/view/index.php?cod=1522041203 He bought my instructions and turned around and sold them elsewhere. I was also alerted to another seller on ebay: laygoman28 He pretty much copied one of my houses and is selling the plans for it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Modular-House-Home-10185-10182-10218-10211-Instructions-Town-Green-Grocer-/270880837981?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f11c1915d he copied the dark blue house in this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280696360860&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123 I am really dumfounded by the 2nd one who put in a lot of time to copy something that wasn't his. In his description he writes: "Or make it a blue house with white trim, etc." And at the bottom he states "-I created this house. I own the rights to this unique design." and he goes on to forbid people to sell what they make with their own lego pieces. Both of these instances make me angry beyond belief and I would suggest everyone steer clear of these criminals. -
Chili's Restaurant 2.0 and Pet shop alternative model
brickcitydepot replied to brickcitydepot's topic in LEGO Town
That was the exact idea for this one. We wanted to provide instructions for a model that they had the pieces for already. I'm not real happy with the versions I have done so far. I might put it off for a little while and come back to it. I am more tempted to do the same thing with fire brigade as I like the colors more in that model. -
These are 2 new modular buildings that I finished recently. The first one is Chili's. I showed the first Chili's modular building on mocpages some time last year and it was very well received and I got numerous requests for instructions to be made. I finally did it and this time I made Chili's even better with a newly designed roof, eating area, kitchen and I added bathrooms. The 2nd model is a pet shop alternative build. I miss the pictures on the back of boxes showing what you could make with the pieces in that set. I hope Lego brings that back at some point. Anyway the pictures are of my 3rd and 4th try at building a modular with the pieces available. Just experimenting with some ideas.
