  1. Hey I am interested in how you added two ports to your IFS, you said to PM but it wont let me so I figured I would let you know here. Anyways, lemme know.

  2. I don't own the SES, but I do own the IFS and I can say one thing about it. Photos do absolutely no justice to that ship. It is absolutely beautiful, as well as (in my opinion) the best built Ship that Lego has ever released (It only has one structural flaw!! and yes that is good, usually I have to fix like 10 flaws on most sets). One way to give those who don't own it a perspective, I have roughly 24 minifigures on board with various "duties" and plenty room to spare for at least another 10 minifigs. Now by then it might be a bit cramped, but pushing it to its limits I would say at least 40 minifigs could fit. That is huge, and easily playable. As well as all the details that went into the ship. Anyways, that's my "short" shpeel on the IFS. As far as the SES goes, it is the one prate ship that I want most, mainly cause it is the only one that could ever even have a small chance against the IFS, but still, it seems to be no where near close in my mind as far as seaworthy, detail, or awesomeness. So ya my verdict is, IFS Rules lol.
  3. The Fearsome Red Coats, not those peach skinned Brits though. :D
  4. I just have a quick question, which is where can I find shooting cannons, and more specifically the newer metallic gun colored ones. I have bought quite a few (when there were some) from ebay, and I have looked extensively on bricklink (no luck). I was hoping someone could give me either a direct link to bricklink (as I might have been looking in the wrong place) or to some other site. Help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  5. Trust me I have thought it through quite a bit, I am highly considering adding elements from my second favorite fort, Eldorado Fortress (6276). I might upload some sketches I have done, but I am quite terrible at drawing, so I might not lol. Anyways, I am currently short on money and do not have the baseplate, so I will probably do a "flat" version of it at first. Anyways, I will keep you all posted.
  6. Hmmm, it's a good idea for making the dock wider. So far I am planning on making the port utilizing modern colors, and I am thinking about re-arranging it a bit too. I first need to buy the raised baseplate, after that I can start preliminary design and then color code it afterwards (I always do that, makes building and MOC'ing much easier).
  7. I recently have been buying into and looking into Lego Pirate sets. I must say that my favorite "fort" set is the Imperial Trading Post (6277). However, this set is long expired and is waaaay out of my price range (especially since I just bought an army of redcoats :P). So, I figure, why not re-make it? I was looking at pictures, and I realized that it wouldn't be that hard. I have tons of ideas flowing through my head right now lol, and getting it done isn't really what I need "help" with. I guess the big thing is, since you are all just as much lego fans as I, if not more. Should I just plain Re-Make it? or should I Re-Make it with a twist/ addons, subtractions(not much of those) and other misc things. I am sure it has been done before, but I want one for myself lol. Also, I think that it is inevitable that I am going to make it with more modern parts, as I personally hate the ugly yellow that was used then, but still. Anyways, maybe this could be made into a poll or something, but either way I would like your guys help with this decision. Thanks and I will keep you all updated, that is if anyone is interested :P
  8. I wish that I had enough bricks to even build one ship lol. I recently acquired the IF and want to make smaller support ships or something. Totally awesome though, a Grand Fleet for a Grand Admiral.
  9. Considering that the only war the French have ever won by themselves would be the French Revolution (that's using the term "won" extremely loosely and rather sarcastically, in case you didn't realize), I would have to say that the Red Coats are far superior. And they look cool too :D
  10. Where do you find that many of the same bodies and such to do this? I wouldn't think that brick link would have THAT much...
  11. These look pretty sweet! I have experience writing board game rules and whatnot, so I know that it can be a daunting task lol. I also had a quick question. Your largest ship type is the "Ship of the Line" and it states that it has a max cannon count of 7, whereas the IF can hold 8. How did you determine max cannon count? Anyways, I like what you have done and will be sure to try this out some time. PS- I think you should have some ports belong to factions and allow them to be attacked, but be sure to give them plus 5-10 armor or something rather because they are the "homes" of the players. Also maybe allow Pirate factions to raid neutral ports to gain money, while the Red/Blue coats can levy taxes or something. Anyways, just a fun thought, and I will be sure to keep posted on this lol. [EDIT] One other thing, I am noticing that your larger ships tend to have a greater total movement (distance) than the smaller ones which have greater maneuverability (turning and other capabilities), I haven't played yet so this may be balanced as is, but as far as real life the smaller ships were more maneuverable and faster. I guess I am asking, is it balanced the way it is and I should just be quiet? lol.
  12. Captain Becker, I think you may be right to a degree. Upon closer look I noticed that the silhouette on BB's box was the same from the IF's box and that they are both "unknown" ships. However, Lego is known for their "easter eggs" and I think maybe they do point back or forward, and maybe they were just the early design of the IF at the time, cause it was released a whole year later. Anyways, it was just an interesting thing to look at. Mister Phes, I hope they do lol. I also hope that the lego ship I just got (Imperial Flagship) remains the largest for some time, but not forever. And that they continue to release both factions, because until this line of Pirates theme, the Imperials/Armada/Guards have been seriously lacking in both personnel and firepower. One other thing that I hope that they continue, is the Redcoat/British look. I keep hearing that a lot of people want there to be new Armada or Guard (French) ships and themes. But personally the Redcoats look the best... Oh and the Black Seas Barracude was in fact re-released in 2002(link), but it was not re-made, just re-released. The Skull's Eye Schooner was never re-released as far as I am aware though, which stinks cause that's my favorite Pirate ship.
  13. Signed. I'll get picked on for this, but this generation of the Pirate theme in my opinion was one of the best (mostly due to the drop of the yellow bricks and the updated uniforms; however, the prices were ridiculously high for some sets) and I really don't want ships like the "Black Pearl" on shelves. I would much rather have more like the "Imperial Flagship" set.
  14. Okay, on Brickbeard's Bounty, we see a silhouette of the Imperial Flagship in the background. And it appears that on the Imperial Flagship there is no silhouette of a ship in the background. However, if you look on the back of the box (picture can be found on this link)you can see a silhouette of a ship. The question I have is, what ship is this? It is a Double Masted (triple sail per mast it looks like), square rigged vessel with what appears to be a flag on the rear of the boat, and a much larger than previously seen jib sail of the forward of the boat. At first I thought it was another Flagship, but when looking closer the details were too far off for it to be that. The next ship that would come to mind is the Black Seas Barracuda, and after that the Skull's Eye Schooner. Does this mean that Lego might be re-making one of those ships? I have heard a lot about the pirate line being discontinued in preparation for Pirates of the Caribbean (Honestly I hope that if they do bring that line in, that they will someday continue the more or less original Lego Pirates theme as I find it much better), but this seems to go against that, or at least point to one final release before th big shutdown. Anyways, what are your thoughts on this?
