This might be a little premature but since I never got a chance to buy the BNSF or Sante Fe I would have to say my current favorite is the Maersk. On the other hand this new train called Horizon Express looks beautiful and it looks like you only need to get two sets to have that proper complete look to it. Due to these facts I'm going to pick the Horizon Express as my true favorite.

I had to move from Germany to Pennsylvania since I was in the US Air Force and I thought I had the ship pretty well protected along with my collection of modular buildings but they received pretty heavy damage over the move. I had also run out of brown plates at about the same time. Unfortunately due to all the damage and me not being willing to spend any more money on this project. I will rebuild it slightly smaller but still pretty grand by LEGO standards. I had also said I would try to move all the minifigs over to fleshies but that will never happen unless the prices go down on fleshies. I did double the amount of marines that I had for the ship. Due to the fact that I am currently obsessed with trains and the modulars I probably won't be working on this project again for awhile.

I love this I'm going to get two of them and I will modify the bogies so that they look like the real thing. Will also get the full power functions kit as well. I just wish they would sell a straight track pack only. I have so many cursed flexible track and curve track. Flexible track has its uses but sometimes I just want straight track because it looks better and it works best for straight runs.

This is amazing! I'm surprised TLG has never released a boat like this with the harbor sub-theme.

This town is great inspiration for my own. I love the styles you used.

I'm going to try and put some of these into brick form for my town.

An update I'm looking to start a club around Pittsburgh in a couple months. Please let me know if you are interested in joining. It will most likely be focused on towns and trains.

I agree I think this should be the new direction for LEGO maybe they should have them set up just like this on a 16x32 plate just like the pet shop. I think this would make them more affordable too. They could have them be 2-3 stories high and sell them for $50-$80.

Hi I'm looking for any AFOLs in or around Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania to start or join AFOL club here in the local area. My favorite themes are Pirates,LotR,Castle,and Town.

I agree with everything said here. I think we will see another LotR craze start. I don't see how TLG can pass up this opportunity.

This was very different from any LEGO survey I have filled out before.

I think that when the Hobbit movies come out the LotR craze will fire up again. I think everyone keeps forgetting that the LotR Trilogy made a ton of money and dominated the box office for a very long time. Quite a few people even went back and watched the movies again after all three were released. It was extremely popular and will be again once the Hobbit movies come out. TLG missed out last time so I think they will take advantage of this second opportunity and release a Hobbit/LotR theme. As to the people who think that a LotR theme won't give us anything new for castles or fantasy sets I say just look at all the new pieces in the PotC theme.

Are you crazy??? Modular line a bust???? You weren't serious when you said that were you?? The modular line is extremely successful! TLG just released the six set in the line this year and they are now releasing a mini model of the first five. Jamie Berard the designer for the modular sets is like a legend for AFOLs!! I don't think they would do this if the line was a "bust". I don't think these sets will ever get re-released in their original form. However someday I think a couple of them may get released again but they will be changed and probably have a higher price tag. I can see Cafe Corner getting released maybe at the 10th anniversary with an interior. All that aside I wish TLG would expand their pick-a-brick selection to include some of the more rare pieces like this one in Dark Red.

Well as far as I've noticed we are embarrassing ourselves. The only fresh ideas that seem to be popular on LEGO Cuusoo are the piano and De Lorean suggestions everything else just seems to be bring back this and bring back that. There are entire threads about stuff like Zoo animals. Why are we not supporting this more? What about new stuff? New themes or stuff for NXT? What about the people who want new colored pieces? Why aren't we posting and supporting this stuff? Monorail? We have an entire discussion about bringing it back yet very few seem to be supporting it where it really matters.

Nice bank. I like how you used the new modified round pieces to build the two front pillars.

Ok I would like to see the old modulars come back but I'm getting sick of all the other bring back this and bring back that support threads. Bionicle ran out so forget it, it's not coming back maybe you'll get an occasional nostalgic release but that's it. Another thing that is annoying is these people with unrealistic expectations advertising that your idea has over 9000 pieces pretty much means that nobody but a select few will ever be able to buy this off of the shelf at a Walmart or Toy'R'Us. Oh and do you really think parents are going to get those for their kids? LEGO is looking for new and revolutionary ideas IMHO.
