  1. Pure awesomeness! Great idea! Would lve to do something like that for my desk at work!
  2. We have 2 beautiful ginger boys, one of which, Gizmo, LOVES playing with LEGO. We've had to fend him off from chewing pieces a few times and he definitely enjoyed playing with the tower crane load, but when he started playing with a boat hull we just had to leave him to it as it was so funny! We had just received it in the post and it was on the living room floor. Gizmo (who loves playing with boxes or anything he can get into), promptly came and sat in it! 'This is the Captain of your ship calling'...
  3. Great, we should be able to make it. We are pretty recognisable; Pinky has bright pink hair. You can't miss him! Anyone know if their PaB wall is any good atm, we have a load of the promotion boxes to fill
  4. I think far more people love Lego than who actually admit it. We've had great fun over Christmas - I had the Winter Village displayed on a table downstairs, and there were a number of Pinky's Technic bits and pieces around. If anyone comments on them or simply says 'wow', we take them upstairs to see the loft. That said, we're kind of reknowned for having a lot of 'toys' and gadgets... Oh and I have a Lego heart on my desk a work that also generates interest (present from Pinky)
  5. Pinky and i would be interested in meeting up although not sure what we have that would be of use to trade at this point, both being new to the AFOL scene. We live in Mitcham, between Wandsworth and Croydon, and can easily do meets at Westfield or Bluewater.
  6. The last lonely minifig series 2 from our local TRU...
  7. After having people over for christmas, Pinky and i decided to have a quiet one to ourselves. We finished our loft 'Legoroom', watched Star Wars, ate fillet steak, ate chocolate sponge and ice cream, played with Lego. Watched the London fireworks on tv then went to bed
  8. I wasnt going to point that out, but that was my impression and like you, i wont bother looking because of that. Incidentally, we have had success with old lego in a pillowcase in the washing machine on its gentlest cycle with no spin. Mainly older pieces that will mainly be used for hidden structural work tho.
  9. 2010 has been somewhat a monumental year for me and Pinky... We bought and started renovating our own house, rescued our second cat and both rediscovered and embraced our childhood love of LEGO, going on to spend a small fortune in fixing the loft and filling it with an enormous amount of Lego, ready to play with in 2011! Good times. We wish eveyone a great night tonight and a lego-filled 2011! Our evening is consisting of some good steak, chocolate sponge cake, wine and LEGO building in the loft!
  10. *snip* Was there any need to reply to ALL threads relating to cleaning LEGO?
  11. This is the full layout of my Winter Village - which generated a fair few comments this christmas! At the back right you can make out the Winter Mill - the entry that didn't make it... All creations can be seen here Next time I'll hopefully have the time to be able to set up the photos properly!
  12. The new 'educational' city minifigure set The new police chase set Golden staff guradian set Toy story army men set 4x new series minifigures 5 of our 11 holiday brick boxes :-)
  13. Pinky and i just left Bluewater (literally we are on the way out of the carpark!). Apparently they didnt receive their shipment of sale stock due to the weather before xmas so they only have the SW starfighter on sale with 30% off and some packs of magnets. Disappointing. Is it worth going to Westfield?
  14. Oh i love the sunroom with the plants! Some really nice touches there!
  15. I hope we're not too late. Pinky and I had a lot of technical (SD card) issues so I've not had time to get their backgrounds done properly :-( Will try to upload better images tomorrow if allowed... This is my entry - Winter wedding at the Chapel Images can be found here: http://nova-star.co.uk/nova/LEGO/ The happy couple, vicar, congregation and coach The belfry and view of the inside. The cold stud is the switch to the lightbrick, illuminating the decorated inside.
  16. We are only just getting our layout down now as we have been insulating and sealing the rafters and have boarded the floor- makes it lighter, more stable, less dusty and loads warmer! We also have the issue of random wooden beams in the middle of the city Whereabouts are you in the UK?
  17. Heh, we have been known to use Pinky and the Brain as a joint account name on some forums, but thought we'd register here separately to post our own MOCs as well as our combined work I am definitely the Brain and he is definitely Pinky (you will understand if you ever see pics of his hair!)
  18. ^^ My other half ^^ We'll hopefully post each of our Winter Wonderland entries tonight
  19. Absolutely love your layout! It is pretty much what we hope ours will look like when we are a bit further along- even down to having ours in the loft as well! Cant wait for thenext update
