Marvel Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion

I’ve seen one that uses the four red stones included in The Ultimate Battle. Now I really want Spider-Man or someone to make a bedazzling joke on Infinity War.- 3,962 replies

I would love to see these immediate discounts continue this year. For the Black Panther wave it’s hardly been a week since release and Amazon has both for 20% off. For example, if the Sanctum Battle were 20% off, of $80, before the movie even came out, that’d be an absolute steal from the sound of it.- 3,962 replies

Post Your Superhero Minifig Collections Here!

I just ordered 76099 for pickup later today, resulting in getting the Black panther wave for essentially 20% off! I’ll try to post a picture of the seven Black Panther minifgures together, as I often find it difficult to come across analyses of entire waves. I think it’s a good way to see how far your money really goes when collecting these. -

This does seem odd. I was expecting the Sanctum and then some side builds similar to (but larger than) the small buildings in the Harley Quinn Cannonball set. Maybe Peter resides in the Sanctum part-time now that the Avengers are no longer based in New York City?- 3,962 replies

I don’t see it, though he’s led followers to another account (the User who leaked the Solo sets) with hopes that the Infinity war wave will be revealed soon.- 3,962 replies

Speaking of extra pieces. I tried out an extra Black Panther headpiece (from 2016) on the Black Panther from 76100. It does not look the best, unfortunately.- 3,962 replies

Yes, it leaves a door open to do so. But I doubt they had combining multiple Sanctums in mind when they made the set. They even marketed the original Modular Buildings towards buying more than one.- 3,962 replies

I wouldn’t think so. The Avengers could be heightened and/or stacked, and the bridge could just be combined to make double or longer bridges. The description sounds s if what we are getting is a full building, in comparison to but on a smaller scale than the Modulars.- 3,962 replies

The Sanctuary is Thanos’ alcove in space, where his chair is among rock platforms. The Sanctuary II is a large spaceship, a mothership if you will, where Thanos travels and controls the Black Order and Outrider army. The latter was glimpsed in the credits of Thor: Ragnarök.- 3,962 replies

The Helicarrier has been the only D2C for Marvel. It was announced January 29, 2015 and released February 17, 2015, if I remember correctly. This was to coincide with the Age of Ultron sets, yet came out even earlier (for VIP Members). The film released May 1, 2015. However, the Helicarrier included only the new variants of characters for the wave, and displayed no notable spoilers for the movie.- 3,962 replies

Just picked up 76100 for 20% off at my local Target. They hadn’t been put on the shelves yet. Can’t wait to build it, my local movie theater just began pre-sales for Black Panther as well!- 3,962 replies

I agree. We received two variants of Hulk in 2017, plus Red Hulk. I’d rather get a different character than Hulk if it were going to be a repeat of the Age of Ultron variant. He is. However, I would think Loki might have a spot in these sets. Although we received him in 2017 as well, he was in the trailer in what looks to be a pivotal offering.- 3,962 replies

I think you’re right. The build that uses the Bionicle pincers? I was hoping for the cannon-like system that held three ball pieces within, and could fire rapidly. EDIt: Ha, yes!!! The pizzeria has a shawarma grill! And what do you guys think the “Groot arm extension pieces” are going to be?- 3,962 replies

Keeps getting better! The Hulkbuster has a pounding arm (go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep!). The tower uses a “ball shooter,” which I’m hoping is the reintroduction of the shooter from Bionicle. And the description lists Falcon’s Redeing drone as an “element” rather than a build. Interesting.- 3,962 replies
