[MOC] Underwater Version of 30070
Stardusty replied to Stardusty's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thank you! I included the link just in case a TS fan wants to see both entries. Thank you for returning the favour. Well, I've tried it, and it doesn't look good. I don't know why does the tr neon orange on my pictures always looks so red. In reality, it looks very nice. Thank you! It's intended to be living creature. Probably a mutated octopus or a sea snake. Placing it beneath the ship was very hard, but I guess everybody will see something different. That's the whole point of imagination. Thank you for commenting! Like I've said, imagination is a very nice thing. Thanks! Although I need to say: 14245 is there alone (if you ignore sea creatures). -

Wow! MY favorite is probably the bus, but everything is great! -

I've seen this entry earlier, but weekend is atrting, and it's time for me to comment. I can only say: "Sweet!" Hermit crab in police van is very cool. Vegetation is very well done. Your photography is brilliant! -

I must say this is my favorite entry in this contest. Your photography needs some work, but idea and execution are awesome! -
The Underwater Version Entry Thread
Stardusty replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yes, another entry that presents underwater version of set 30070. Here's how the real set looks like: (picture is a link) My little MOC is named: "Is it a fiiiiiiiiiish?" Is it a fiiiiiiiiiish? by hrcywindu, on Flickr Is it a fiiiiiiiiiish? by hrcywindu, on Flickr Neat little backstory: Once upon a time, in a galaxy far far away... On a little planet called Pizza Planet live LGMs, also called aliens. Once they technology was developed, those little fellows decided to explore the universe. They've sent few little ships to find planets that would be suitable for a life. Their task is to find out as much as they can about the planet suitable for living, write a report, and come back. One of them, called LGM 14245 (try to guess where's the name coming from ), came to planet once known as Earth in year 2152, after many, many years of traveling. The whole planet was a huge blue ball. All the icebergs have melt, and sea levels have rissen. It was the doom for all it's natives. Creatures that were able to live under water survived, but LGM didn't care about them. LGMs don't need food, air, nor anything else humans need. So, he parked his ship near "vents", since that's the place that should be easy to find. After weeks of exploration, he came back to his ship, and fin it a bit dirty. But that's no rpoblem for our hard-working friend, he'll clean it. BUT, what's the thing under his ship? "Is it a fiiiiiiiiiish?" My thoughts. I had no idea whgat to buidl until today. On my history class, we learned about ancient history, so I've decided to think about what to build. I remembered a small set I bought in March: 30070. So, I came home, and built my entry. I know there are some things that are not logical, but ignore them. All of them were made on purpose, since that's the way they looked the best to me. For example, LGM would float, and it makes no sense to leave thrusters working while under water. The ship would drive away! But, those are all teh little details I ignored, to make this entry better in my eyes. I had a lot of un building my entry. Thanks to Eerobricks staff for organising an hosting this contest! I hope you like my entry! Please comment and criticize it here! -
Yes, another entry that presents underwater version of set 30070. First one was made by ceroknight, and you can check it out here. Also, this was made for EB Underwater Version Contest that's part of the Underwater Action Themes Month. Now, onto my entry. During my history class, my mind was on this contest. I had no ideas! Then, I finnaly decided it will be 30070. Then I've spent two hours working on my entry, and now your's is up. I have no luck. Mine is a lot different, though, and although it's finished, I can't take pictures of it until 19:22 (when it's dark enough to make my first fully-efficient photo studio give it a decent light). Great minds think alike! I like your entry very much. Scene the little alien came into is so cute. Nice job!

Twisted mind Skrytsson, twisted mind. Also, I see why did you choose number 69. It would look better in more normal font, though. Hilarious jokes, anyway.

I'm glad you guys like it! In fact, it was inspired by the Bird of prey, at least the main shape. I'm not so sure about the cockpit and engines. They just came naturally, since I knew I was limited in terms of the space for the pilot. @Legostein: You are right. I never remembered to use dome pieces for the intakes. Thank you for your comments and some critics!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 discussion
Stardusty replied to eiker86's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Since I've completed series 4,I've decided I'll complete every next CM series, including CM Series 5. Currently, I'm buying Gladiators (bought nine already), and I'm selling them for 5$ (sold five already) so I can get more money for other CMS5 figs and LEGO sets. Being a TFOL is not a LEGO fan's dream. -
Hmmm. I'm not a big fan of BSG, so I'm not very familiar with this. Concept looks good, "milk" bath kinda creepy, but the wall looks perfect (or cool at least, sometimes simplicity is a win). Btw. Your photos are very crisp and clear. Nice job! I suggest you to use white paper as a background.

You never cease to amaze me with your MOCs. These vignettes are great. I love the bits of humor here and there (btw, nice use of trans-yellow windscreen ).

Yeah, I had a lot of fun building this starfighter. It was a short build, actually, around two hours. As I have said, I made this for 'Put Your Brick Where Your Mouth is Two' contest on Classic Space forum. Some data. 15$ category, 230 g (15 g stand, that I've forgot to add on the pictures), one minifigure, very sturdy and swooshable. Besides swooshing, it also has an opening cockpit. [MOC] Mission 10.2 - Geonosis: a Sandbox from Hell
Stardusty replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
MAn, I like that ARC-170 Starfighter. I'm even glad you actually reused your last version, because it looks so good. Nice job on the debris. -
Winners will sure be lucky with their prizes.

Well, kost's entry was far more superior than any other entries (they were good too, but not that good). Congratulations to all the winners! BaronSat's entry was my second favorite so I'm glad it squeezed into the top 3.

MOC: Trapped In The Trash Compactor (complete)
Stardusty replied to M<0><0<DSWIM's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow, this is awesome MOC. Nice job M<O><O>DSWIM. Stormtrooper armor is brilliant! -
I think the best X-wing (in terms of coolness) is Mike Psiaki's. It's also the sleekest one I've ever seen.
-
I've seen it already, and I was a bit disappointed with the look of it. It's inaccurate in so many ways. Well, it looks cool at least.
-
Placing order 66 on BL was hilarious. Was Ki Adi Mundi buying himself and extra headgear, Twi-Lek or chrome lightsaber hilt? I just want to know was it worth of dying for.

Community Build: SW Episode V - Empire Strikes Back
Stardusty replied to ACPin's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Stardusty (me ) - micro battle of Hoth I think I'll start to build Snowspeeders right now. I was really sad for missing the first community build. I was really busy and had no ideas. Well, I sure won't miss this one. I already have a ton of great ideas. Are some custom stickers allowed? -

Impressive army and very nice presentation. -
Second one was brilliant, Oky. I've laughed for 3 seconds.
