  1. They are Disney in the end now with TFA. Everything is calculated to acheive the maximum hype possible. Even if the methods are seemingly non-traditional. The movie is what they want to hype, the toys are the seeds of the hype. Have the toys come out a few short months before the movie means that all the kids will be asking for a new one each month. And that when the movie comes out, the parents will simply say "yes" to go watch it. Jim
  2. The Lego design may end up being correct. For all we know the ship in the trailer is transporting who ever ends up being emperor or some such. Why would what appears to be the apprentice get the most fancy ship? Jim
  3. Since I've put off buying the Shuttle Tydirium, for what special figure will probably show up at Lego stores on Force Friday. But I will probably pick up the snow speeder, and either the TIE or the Troop Transporter. Maybe get the troop troop transporter and the assault carrier. To create a larger transport. For all the "flaws" the sets look decent. Jim
  4. Or Quebec judging by the French. Nevermind, definately France in Vitrolles Jim
  5. I think the Snowspeeders sell more then you guys think. It is for the younger crowd, who instinctively go for more easy to built sets that is playable and at a price point for a ship that parents can agree on. A lot of the wants in these threads, with relation to mini-figures makes them less playble for kids. A kid can have the current snow speeder fly around as the snow trooper tries to blast it. Having mechanics, and other auxiliary figures may be playble to us adults and many kids. But it isn't the typical GI Joe action figure style of fun that many kids want. Jim
  6. Any pictures are good. With a thread this size I am sure some of us missed it the first time around anyways. Jim
  7. Those walkers look neat. More like a tortoise then the box known as an AT-AT. Shorter too. Other then so the Rebels can use tow hooks, the idea of putting the body of a heavy transport on thin long legs never made sense to me. Jim
  8. Walmarts are supposedly doing Force Friday too. As are other retailers world wide. I can't see why TLG would shoot themselves in the foot and not release the same day. Jim
  9. Went to my local Lego store. New September flyer says nothing about a September 4th Star Wars launch. Nor mention of a May 4th style event either. Only thing about Star Wars, later in the month you can get a free poster. Jim
  10. Small sets, perhaps with mini-locations sounds good. The Battle packs and other small sets do need an update. Jim
  11. Anybody else thinking it will be a trimmed version of http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/7666_Hoth_Rebel_Base Based on the video Otherwise it will probab be fun glorified http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/7749_Echo_Base Jim
  12. To me, I think the shelves will be Episode 7 only for the weekend. After that, unless Disney will buy back all the merchandise, I doubt retailers will spend the money to pull stock, ship it back to their centralized warehouses, and sell online only. Jim
  13. I'd like to see more building sets, such as the Hoth Base or Mon Calamari Cruiser. Ships and the like are all well and dandy but a base or two would be nice. Maybe bits and pieces from Rebels such as the Tie bases in Lothal, the Republic asteroid base etc? Jim
  14. In some ways you are quite right Jango. Jim
  15. So I've been eyeing the Death Star for a long time. A couple weeks ago I picked it up. Between my brother in law, my best friend, and myself, we build this over 3 evenings. Although not quite as easy to build as a team like say the Star Destoryer, actually rather impossible, we had fun. Sorry for the bad photograph. JimCanuck
