Hi, this is really great! Thanks for sharing! :-)
-
If only my budget for LEGO this month wasn't going on 10247: Ferris Wheel, I'd be going mad right now, getting extra sets for my in-progress LEGO Minecraft build...
-
Ahh, it may well be something that simple, thanks! I wouldn't have been selecting the spider or any other figs, just the structure itself, but I was most likely "picking it up" high up on the group. One question that does spring to mind is how would the group snap to the underneath of the baseplate? Does LDD treat a baseplate as if it has studs on the underneath? I've got to get a replacement graphics card, but will try your suggestion as soon as I can. Many thanks! JC
-
Typically, my main PC's graphics card has just packed up, so I can't get the specific file, but it's easy to replicate... Just place a 32x32 baseplate in a new LDD workspace and import the LXF of 21118 The Mine: http://bricksafe.com/files/stephan3321/LDD%20models/The%20Mine%20A.lxf If you then try to move it over the baseplate, to place it, you should see it "dive" down a few levels... If I can boot my PC up enough to grab the specific file, I'll definitely do so. Thanks! JC

Hi all, This has been driving me bonkers, but there's probably a simple solution. Simply, I am trying to place a group of bricks, such as a set onto a standard 32x32 baseplate in LDD. I can pick up the group and it looks as if it is okay, but as soon as I move it over the baseplate, the group drops down 4 or 5 bricks, so that it now partially sits under the baseplate and refuses to attach. I have tried rotating the view and other things, but to no joy. Any ideas? Regards, JC

I hope this isn't against forum etiquette, but my review of this set is now on the Brickset.com home page: http://brickset.com/...128-the-village If it is, please delete this post.

Not yet... But I will be... :-)

Well, I'm very happy that this VIP release is, indeed, The Village! :-) The set itself looks really very good indeed, with the exception of the choice of figs. We really don't need both Steve *and* Alex, as well as another zombie, creeper *and* Enderman... Also, why they have included an Iron Golem, when they have only just released a specific set for that, I don't know. I'd think that, if you are going to buy The Village, you'll already have, or will get The Iron Golem. An additional villager or two would have been appreciated, as well as CHICKENS!!! The villagers that we are getting do look excellent and the inclusion of a zombie villager is also appreciated! :-)
-
I have seen it mentioned elsewhere that the VIP early access set in May is likely to be 10253 Big Ben: http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-may-2016-store-calendar-promos-and-events/
-
Isn't that more likely to be 21127: The Fortress? On a separate note, I caved in and bought 21125: The Jungle Tree House, even though it's appallingly priced, compared to the US. It was the set that I was most looking forward to, so I couldn't wait any longer and picked it up for double VIP points, at least. Plus another Chicken Suit Guy... :-) I wasn't let down, either, as it's a fantastic set! I love the new jungle trees and vines, there's loads of Medium Nougat bricks and overall it just looks great! I have immediately added the bricks required to make the creeper face build to my next BrickLink order, so that I can build it separately and add to my Minecraft diorama, which I am itching to rebuild, now that I have all the new wave of sets. I might hold off until The Fortress and The Village turn up, so that I can build one massive display, as I've been stocking up on plates and basic Reddish Brown & Medium Stone Grey bricks, for creating basic landscapes. Can't wait! :-) ^Sorry, I misunderstood. This is a generic, not-necessarily-Minecraft VIP exclusive, from what I can see. Is there any reason that you think this is going to be The Village? The full set of D2Cs for 2016 is believed to be: 75159 The Death Star 75144 Snowspeeder 75098 Assault on Hoth - S@H states available 30th April 75257 Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ - Already Released 76052 Classic TV Series Batcave - Already Released 71040 [Minifigures] - September? 21128 The Village - August? 10251 Brick Bank - Already Released 10253 Big Ben I think that it is more likely to be one of the others, but I'll be very happy, if it does turn out to be The Village.

This is the set that I was most looking forward to in this wave of LEGO Minecraft sets, but the difference in price between the UK and US has totally put me off buying it: £74.99 vs $69.99! It's bad enough when we get charged at a 1:1 ratio, but this is ridiculous. I will wait until I can get it at a significant discount.
-
Well, confirmed prices are up on S@H, so I thought I'd run a little comparison between prices on the UK and US sites: Set GBP USD 21113 19.99 19.99 21114 24.99 29.99 21115 39.99 39.99 21116 49.99 49.99 21117 59.99 69.99 21119 19.99 19.99 21120 39.99 39.99 21121 59.99 59.99 21122 69.99 79.99 21123 19.99 19.99 21124 49.99 59.99 21125 74.99 69.99 21126 29.99 39.99 Please can someone explain to me how on earth TLG are charging £74.99 for 21125 The Jungle Tree House, while it is only $69.99 in the US? Now, it's bad enough that for so many sets we are charged on a £=$ basis, e.g. £/$19.99 for 21123, but to be charged MORE £ than $ for the same set just sticks in the throat!
-
Smyths.co.uk and amazon.co.uk have the following pricing on their websites: #21123 The Iron Golem £19.99 #21124 The End Portal £49.99 #21125 The Jungle Tree House £74.99 #21126 The Wither £29.99 I haven't seen definitive parts counts yet though.
-
I'm sure you've seen this already, but Huw @Brickset has posted a review of #21125 The Jungle Tree House. Looks even better close up!
-
That looks like a nice set... It'll definitely be a nice addition to The Village, when it appears. Nice new printed parts and that modified tile with peg will definitely be useful. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the play features in these sets, as they detract from the basic block aesthetic of the theme, but it doesn't upset me too much!
-
^ For us LEGO Minecraft afficionados, the villagers are one of the most wanted, currently unreleased, mobs in the game and a lot of people will be after them, I would guess. I think also, given the price point for this set, a lot of people who are not going to buy the whole set will be after villagers and those that do buy the set will probably want a few more. Price on Bricklink will then depend on that demand and the supply from resellers who purchase the set to part out. That will be an unknown...
-
Personally, I'd like to see a well, a small farm area, a library, blacksmith, two or three generic houses, a priest, a blacksmith, a librarian and a couple of villagers, lamps and, finally, some chickens and rabbits! What I don't think we need at all are any Steve / Alex, zombie, spider or skeleton figures, as we have plenty from all the other sets. I'd much rather have more villagers... Can't wait to see first pics of this, as it has the potential of being a fantastic centerpiece to any Minecraft diorama.
-
@r4-g9 That will be fantastic! Really looking forward to seeing what that will look like... This round of releases is shaping up to be really great! :-) Which is as many as in the first wave, which also had 6. AFOLs may not be buying them much, given the lack of discussion of the theme on most forums, apart from people joining in to say how rubbish they are, but someone must be buying them! :-) I honestly don't get why AFOLs dislike the Minecraft theme so much... The builds do hark back to a simpler way of building, with far more focus on basic 2x2, 2x4, 2x6 etc. bricks and plates, but there is a coherent style that runs through the theme and IMHO allows for a lot of creativity in creating landscapes and dioramas. Personally, I absolutely cannot stand Bionicle or Mixels, but I wouldn't be joining discussion threads to moan about them. None of this, of course, is aimed at you, falderal!

It's great that there are some villagers being displayed, but it's odd that they are doing so with these sets, unless 21128 is simply not available for announcement yet, but they're "teasing" its existence. Double fingers crossed that it's a village with chickens, as has been suggested! :-) Looking at all those sets, they are all going to be definite buys, but the larger ones, #21124, #21125 and #21127 look especially fantastic! I'm really looking forward to adding them to my collection. The smaller sets are obviously draws because of the figures, the Iron Golem, The Wither and those Wither Skeletons... The dioramas that come with them will add on to current sets nicely.

@Moelli - Yes, of course! Silly me... @dimaks13 - Okay, thanks for that. Not too long to wait, then!
