  1. This is what I came up with!
  2. Not exactly a pirate film, but I'd love some sets of Master and Commander: The Far Side Of The World. - The two main ships; The Surprise and The Acheron. - A chance to bring back Islanders from the trading post scene. (although they were more sophisticated.) - A Galapagos set with some new exotic animal molds. It's not really a children's film, so it won't happen, but I'd love some sets inspired on the above mentioned points.
  3. I bought the #70412 Soldier Fort, which I will be building shortly!!
  4. Welcome Dave!! Those are some great MOCs!! That tall crane is awesome!! And I really like the set design for the city set. I love the wheels on the truck, the slimmer ones in the front and the large ones in the back!!
  5. Thank you guys! And Phred, yes I have been posting in the Pirate forum already!!
  6. I have that Playmobil pirateship. Or maybe a version later or so. I must've got it around 1990 I guess. I remember it till this day. It's a tragedy, so ye be warned. My parents took me to a major toy store in Germany, where I could get a Lego pirate ship. I remember running through the isles toward the Lego isle and picking the ship I wanted. I'm not sure if it was the Black Seas Barracuda or the Caribbean Clipper. I think it was the latter, but my memory is a bit hazy about this point, because of how the events unfolded. We were on the way back to the register, little me very proud with his first Lego pirate ship in hand, when my parents came to a conclusion. I should put it back on the shelf and get the Playmobil pirate ship instead. Playmobil (in their logic) was much more sturdier. If I ever accidentally dropped that ship, it wouldn't break into a million pieces, like the Lego one would. So the decision had been made. No Lego ship for me, but the Playmobil one. I enjoyed it, can't deny that, but it wasn't the same. Also the top of the mast of that ship broke, with no way to properly repair it. We glued it a couple of times, but it would still fall off. So that is the tragic story of how my parents kept me from getting an awesome Lego pirate ship. Later I had them keelhauled for that! No I didn't. But every now and then I like to bring it up. Just in jest of course, since I still love Lego and haven't looked at (my) Playmobil in at least 15 years.
  7. This is a really cool MOC you've made! I love the way the water in the pit seems to be wild and everyone in it is splashing, eating or surviving! It looks very dynamic! Also a cool backstory with the bluecoats and all!
  8. My latest was the new pirate ship #70413 Brick Bounty. My first Lego pirate ship ever, although I have started playing with Lego since they days of the BSB, I never had the chance to get one of those or later ships. Anyway, I hope to make up from now on! I'm already planning on buying another BB to make a better one and maybe a small ship for the soldiers from leftover parts!
  9. Welcome from one new member to another!
  10. Good evening, fellow Lego fans! I have been lurking on this forum for years now, but the buying of my first Lego Pirate Ship ever, (the Brick Bounty #70413) seemed like a good occasion to finally sign up. I have been a Lego fan all my life, but I guess this last decade have been my dark ages. Apart from a (small set) here or there, I never bought much Lego during this time. So with the new pirate ship, I hope it brings an end to these ages as I certainly would like to become more involved again. Building the ship made me feel like a little boy again and it brought me joy to be spending time doing something I have always loved. It felt magical to see all the little bricks become an awesome vessel. Anyway, I hope and strive to become more active, not just in collecting Lego, but being a member here as well. I look forward to meeting you all!
