  1. Targets a little weird. I went by on Thursday and they had one green dragon from the movie and they said nothing else was in the back and they were told that Target was going to stop carrying Ninjago! I go back this morning and they said it will all be out by 6pm today. I'm going back after work and hoping to get all my stuff. As for Wal-mart, I was a night stocker for 2 years and those guys don't know shit. But, I was hoping hed tell me there was a pallet in the back room with a sign not to stock until whenever.
  2. I went by Target and the toy isle guy told me all the Ninjago movie sets would be out by Friday because they were a little behind. I went by Wal-mart, guy pulls out his phone and gives me the release date of the movie. I want to scream.
  3. The guy at my local target said everything would be on the shelves on Friday. looking forward to it.
  4. I'm planning on going by my local Wal-mart and Target on the way home and being totally disappointed when they have nothing new.
  5. I'm not sure that row thing is really true. I grabbed 5 bags off of one row out of a brand new box I opened myself at HEB and got 2 duplicates.
  6. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, Brickvault has a livestream (10 hours) of the city set Its on there twitch https://www.twitch.tv/brickvault/videos/all and on youtube they have a summery video
  7. Found this pic on a comic-con page. Shows the complete back of the set.
  8. Yours looks really great, can't wait to see it complete. Do you have access to any pictures we don't? As far as my model has gotten its already about 100$ on brickling. I shudder to think what yours would cost. Do you have any idea how the elevator will work?
  9. I am mostly just working on the base for building a connecting Moc. On the other hand, can I download that one anywhere??
  10. I'm really excited for this set. I just LOVE how cyberpunky it looks. Reminds me of the kind of cities in Ghost In the Shell and other works of Masmuni Shirow, Blade Runner, Big Hero 6, things like that. I wan't to do a set of buildings to expand it into a row, maybe 4 plates. Here is what I have so far. Its mostly about getting the base right since that can be the basis for all the custom ones I need to build. I'm thinking about mirroring the base for the right hand side rather than rotating it. Is there a mirror function in LDD? comments?
  11. Ninjago is Lego original content.
  12. I've spent days staring at these pictures and trying to work out what the bottom level looks like. This is what I've got so far. I'd really like to do a set of 4 of these and link them together into a larger scene. I'm not sure if I want to do them in a block: or a line.
  13. THis would have been better as a small series like the Scooby-Doo sets.
  14. Im thinking plain white realistic sails. What I most want to know is can you just buy cloth at a craft store and cut them out? Has anyone done that? I could just trace sails I've got onto some cheap fabric and cut them out. But, I wan't some advice from anyone who has done that sort of thing, rather than just jumping in. I'm working on a hybrid steam/sail ship based on the Sea Cow, but heavily modified.
  15. Im working on a MOC/MOD lego ship and I'm thinking about making my own sails. I was hoping for some advice from the community about this. Anyone make there own sails? Any pointers?
  16. My wallet is starting to feel the pinch. Ghostbusters firehouse, the bank, Doctor who, and now this. I may need to sell a kidney.
  17. Nice. I recognize lots of the little architectural flourishes you used from various sets, but everything works together really nicely. The minifigs everywhere really bring the thing to life.
  18. This SUCKS! I had decided to pass on this due to the cost, but now that I've seen this awesomeness I can't pass on it. I'll have to save for months to afford this. (Sad face)
  19. I wanted to add the Bike Shop and Cafe to my modulars and here's what I have so far. (larger pictures can be found in my Imigur album http://imgur.com/a/xaGH4) I like the way they look here, the low heights of these two add more variety to the roof line. I started with 2 copies of the base set, the rest I pulled from stuff I had on hand. The 2 sets gave me most of what I needed. I was a little short of dark red bricks for the Cafe and added some black to the top row. As for the BIke Shop, there wasn't nearly enough of the medium blue so I added 2 rows of regular blue - I like the way it turned out. The backs don't look that much different than on the smaller units. The inside of the bike shop. Bike repair shop might be better, not much room for stock. I'll add some extra tools later. I'm quite pleased with the small apartment above the Bike shop. A bathroom that is just a toilet (the resident will need a nearby gym membership for showering), a kitchenette with hot plate, a bed and a desk. I like the way the cabinets look. Bike Shop roof. Lots of room to add some stuff late. Cafe ground floor. I already have a coffee shop in the works for my layout so I've left this room bare for now. Im considering turning it into a flower shop or a bookshop. I liked the ATM so I turned it around to use it on the inside. second floor of the Cafe. Not much here yet. Some built in shelves, but nothing on them. I'm not sure If Ill add any kind of bathroom. I like bathrooms in my lego buildings because they add some reality, but they take up a lot of space which there isn't much of to begin with. Cafe roof. A bit of air-conditioning vent and a small garden. Lots of room to add stuff, but I'm pleased with how they turned out.
  20. I'm working on a couple of modular buildings. I was really inspired by Tea Weevil's chinese resteraunt and since I have a bunch of bright red bricks that I couldn't seem to fit into anything else I started throwing this together last night. Modulars are mostly built on the 16x16 square pattern which is just not enough to me, so these 2 are closer to 16x 24. Im still just in the "thinking with bricks" stage.
  21. in price-per-brick terms its cheaper than the big Ninjago temple set and about the same as any modular building. Id like it to be cheaper too, but its not like there gouging us on the price. Lots of bricks, lots of money. Dr Who, the new bank and this - its shaping up to be an expensive christmas.
  22. I just made my first ever visit to a Lego store, The one in the Houston Galeria. I picked up the Pirate chess set and also, thanks to bricklink picked up the Pirate VIP set for a reasonable price.
  23. So, I've wanted to make a lego steam punk pirate ship for awhile and thought the best way to start was simply to buy a second Lego sea cow. I went ahead and assembled the sea cow as soon as I got it and then started ordering parts. I've just started my Modding by adding 3 more hull sections to stretch out the ship to a better length. I've got lots of plans about what I want to do. Updates as I progress. Suggestions? Comments welcome.
  24. Im getting into Lego ships and wanted to discuss some ideas. Im 41 years old and have loved Lego since I was a kid. I've gotten in and out a couple of times and have decided to collect ships this time. The one thing I regret from the first time I got out of Lego is that I had the original Black Seas Barracuda and most of the very first run of pirates stuff. I gave it all to a cousin who put in a garage sale. <Cue screaming> So, I've bought the current pirate ship (99$), the Queen Annes Revenge (160$ on bricklink, no minifigs) and The Sea Cow ($240 ebay, NIB) I've also bought some incomplete stuff on ebay. A viking ship missing some pieces (@$40), an Enlighten pirate ship, missing a few pieces ($30) and a Mega Bloks Viking ship (@$40) Im planning on building a custom viking ship with the viking hull. I've shortened the middle from 3 pieces to 2 because it just seemed too long. Also the mast and sail are just too big. I'm gong to shorten the mast and use the Mega Bloks sail. I added the extra middle bit to the Enlighten hull, which I planning on building a MOC ship with. The Mega BLoks viking hull really looks like an ancient Mediterranean hull, so Im planning on using it to build an ancient Egyptian ship. I chose Egyptian over Greek or Phoenician because I can get minifigs to crew it. I've also got plans to buy another sea cow and use it to build a steam-punk ship. I'm also thinking about building an Ironclad and some other things. Ideas? Suggestions? I welcome comments on my ideas.
