The Second Crash - Day 2
Ranger of the Forest replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
If you’re not trying to pick a fight then why are you insisting we continue to talk about this? If we go by your logic, I certainly wasn’t the only person to throw out a “baseless” comment on day one. What I said was honestly more of a self reminder than anything. Next time I say anything about you, I’ll make sure to have a full powerpoint presentation with a list of my sources prepared. Are you happy now? -
The Second Crash - Day 2

I would agree with you if I had voted for you, or made a legitimate case for doing so. I just said I found you suspicious, but that this was likely not valid because your play style is such that I usually find you scummy. And for heaven's sake, fluff does not equal town. I know you had RL things going on, but you can't just be like "oh well it was day one" in your defense, and then start jumping down my throat for one comment on day one when we have other things to discuss and make such a big deal of it. Your reaction to this just makes you look more suspicious, to be honest. I listed a passing suspicion on day one, and you started making a big deal about it without much reasoning behind it. If you don't think my contributions from yesterday were helpful, then fine. But I don't believe you have a right to talk, all things considered. Well it depends what your definition of "good town read" is. If you mean it in the sense that you're 99% sure that someone is town, then yes, that is ludicrous. But finding someone who you feel inclined to believe is town on day one is not. This doesn't mean that you trust them, or know that they're town for sure, but from their posts you consistently get a feeling that they're town. It differs for everyone, and I certainly don't have many townreads at this point, but it certainly isn't impossible to have a good town read on day one. Honestly, after my post yesterday, I kind of forgot about your general existence until you came raring in this morning to "defend" yourself and point out how scummy you think I am. You weren't a serious suspect of mine before, but you certainly are now. Excellent news! Vote: Anthony Dixon (jluck) -

And that's what I meant too... I mean ya don't just parrot people but it's OK to say you agree with someone, and then expand upon their thoughts by giving your own take. Which you did do some of yesterday in one post, to your credit. I don't still think you would be a good lynch today, however. -

I already explained myself on that point, and I don't see a reasom to repeat myself here. And if you were so concerned about getting a lynch, why weren't you here at all to push for that in the second half of the day? Just because it's day one doesn't mean you can't post anything of substance. If it's RL stuff then that's at least understandable, but if not then why were you mia for the rest of the day? I mean, if this is all the response you have, then fine, I'll take it. But I don't have to like it or think that it makes you less suspicious. -

Yeah, as I said I didn’t put much stock into my suspicion because I usually find you suspicious regardless of circumstances, for whatever reason. But fluff doesn’t somehow excuse you or anyone else from scrutiny. And I wouldn’t go as far as to say I had a “scum-read” on you yesterday. I was trying to admit my own bias with my suspicion of you, which makes it even less of a “scum-read.” Quincy, do you have anything to say to my comments from yesterday? Or do you not consider my thoughts regarding you worthy of a response? I did not get a PM from jluck, if it matters. -
The Second Crash - Day 1
Ranger of the Forest replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Pretty standard start of the day material, some roleplaying, wondering at the situation, etc. Nothing blatantly objectionable. I actually agree that personality shouldn’t be an excuse for behaving oddly. And yet...you contradict yourself by making a big deal about not wanting to let personality influence your vote, and then you...decide not to vote for him because of his personality Maybe I’m misinterpreting your intent here, but you switch your approach in two sentences. I also find Perce’s behavior odd Difficult? There have been plenty of loud personalities who aren’t scum. In fact, it makes less sense for scum to draw attention to themselves by being either too quiet or too loud. You’d think they’d make more of an effort to stay somewhere in the middle “safe zone,” if you will. Are you trying to not look scummy by not being a “loud personality,” if that’s what you think scum typically act like? Those two sentences just don’t sit right with me. And here we have the calling out of people who aren’t posting. At the very least you’ve refrained from automatically assuming low posters are scum, but your passive request for people to talk seems strange in light of your own absence for the past several hours. Do you not have anything to contribute? What’s your opinion on current events? If it’s RL events that are keeping you from posting, that’s understandable, but for goodness’ sake don’t say you want to hear people’s thoughts if you aren’t able to give any of your own. And radio dead air from here on out... I’d like to hear some sort of defense or explanation from you, because I don’t want to vote for someone as a result of me not understanding their approach. I’m keeping my vote where it is from now, but if you really are town, a solid defense from you could make a difference. You’re not currently in danger of being lynched or anything, but hearing from you would be helpful. I’m beginning to find Molly a good lynch option, considering how defensive she’s being at the moment. You have what, one, two, votes on you? Why are you acting like you’re about to be lynched all of a sudden? Flailing does not somehow alleviate suspicion of you, however slight it may be. Of course I forgot to address something. Following after the “I also find Perce’s behavior odd” bit...I think the fact that you jump to neutral as a possibility a little odd. Correct me if I’m wrong, but there’s no indication that there is one at all this game in the rules. Maybe it’s usually like that, but I still find it strange that you’re bringing it up. Not impossible, but his claim was definitely more vanilla townie focus. And if there is a neutral, who happens to be Perce, I think him outing himself like that in thread would be very foolish, even if he is new. What are everyone else’s thoughts on there being a third party? Likely? Not likely? Although, at the moment I think the question of who we’re lynching is a more pressing matter. I still feel like Quincy is a good option, but until I hear from him I’m not changing my vote. *So until I hear from him... I’m struggling with words today you guys. If any of you other people currently active (Molly, Anthony, Mike) have anything to say, please chime in at your leisure. I’ve got some other matters to attend to, but I’ll be back if any of you have questions directed at me And of course, any other valuable thoughts you have are greatly appreciated by all of us townies, to be sure. -
The Second Crash - Day 1
Ranger of the Forest replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I think you misunderstand me here. I’m not changing my opinion in regards to who I find scummy, I’m changing my opinion in who would make a good lynch candidate. I am by no means indifferent to who we lynch. My point is I’d like us to get a lynch today, as often that gives the town more to go on in the days ahead than a no lynch, and I’m willing to change my vote in order to have one. Of course if I don’t think there’s a good chance that the person is actually scum, I will withhold my vote. That’s...actually not a bad thought. Might as well at this point. But I think it’s only fair to ask other people besides me, who haven’t already done so, to do the same, no? Do you have any reasons for believing that I'm scummy? Besides the fact that other people have said so? -
The Second Crash - Day 1

Yes, I know To be honest, the more I wrote about Quincy, the more guilty he seemed to me. I still don’t think Anthony is in the clear, mind you, but for now I feel Quincy is the better vote. And if I have to change votes again for us all to get a lynch, so be it. There’s no limit on how many times you can vote/unvote, so I don’t feel there’s anything wrong with me changing my opinion. Do you not find Quincy suspicious as well? I assume you’re talking about Quincy here? I believe you should be referring to someone else here...? I haven’t accused you at all thus far... A lot of people have been pinging me on and off, but my opinion changes frequently the more I read/think about these things. And as it’s day one, there’s not a lot of substantial evidence for any one person. Doesn’t mean we should vote mindlessly, but it’s hard to get a good read on a lot of people. I personally feel like Quincy is a strong lynch candidate at the moment, but not many others seem to think so. I find Ewan to be a bit scummy as well, truth be told, but since I usually find him scummy I don’t feel that that’s a compelling enough reason to vote for him right now. -

Agreed. We need to decide on a lynch candidate, sooner rather than later. Just because it's day one and we (meaning the town) don't know much of anything yet, doesn't mean we shouldn't have a lynch. I'm glad there's no one bandwagon, and that everyone (for the most part) is expressing their own opinion, but it would be nice if we could all reach some sort of consensus before the day is over. -
The Second Crash - Day 1
Ranger of the Forest replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'd hardly call it a wagon, all things considered. Did you see the vote count so far? 3 people with 2 votes on them, and a ton of others with 1 vote. Not very much consensus yet. I even said that my vote was almost entirely subject to change, especially if we need to get a lynch. Which I think we should all start trying to do. ...alright then. Not really sure what to make of this. Soft claiming vanilla seems rather unnecessary. I find your behavior very strange, but I'm not sure if I should attribute that to your newness or something else... Look, vote for me if you want, but just because you don't find him suspicious doesn't mean no one else can. I think just chalking things up to someone's play style is a dangerous thing to do, and the scum can easily use it to their advantage. I mean, look at what happened with Gale not so very long ago. I honestly am tired of apologizing for not being active all the time. I made my first post minutes after remembering what was going on. And generally, if I don't have anything to say, I'm not going to waste space with meaningless fluff. That's not going to help the town. Just because you're always active doesn't mean you're town. And calling out people for not being active is a very easy way to make yourself look useful, without actually doing anything productive. Yes, I've only posted once so far today, I MUST be scum. :eyeroll: In light of Perce's bizarre contributions, I feel more willing to overlook Anthony's own quibbles. But right now, I'm keeping my vote where it is. When we can come to a consensus on our next lynch candidate, I will change my vote. Right now I am slightly suspicious of Mike, but since he voted for me I doubt that will be counted as a legitimate concern But yeah, people whose posts consist only of fluff and telling other people to participate piss me off. I'm looking especially at Quincy, whose posts seem to fall right in the category of trying to look useful while not doing much of anything. Besides being rather sheepish. On second thought, I have more reason to vote for him than I do for Anthony. Unvote: Anthony Dixon (Jluck) Vote: Quincy Easton (KingoftheZempk) Again, this may very well change, but for now I like my vote. Is this a good enough summation of my thoughts? Or do I need to "defend" myself further? -

Ranger of the Forest replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Apologies for my absence, I was so busy making sure that we had enough supplies for the journey that I forgot about all of you... Who is this "Jluck" person you keep speaking of, Anthony? But whoever he is, there's no way he's been acting fishy as you have so far today. Your posts genuinely baffle me, and I find you more suspicious than anyone else thus far. But considering it's day one, that's not saying much. So for now I'll Vote: Anthony Dixon (Jluck) This is almost certainly subject to change, especially if we need to get a lynch, but I might as well go with my gut for the present. -
Delwyn Couch here, reporting for duty. Thank goodness I had my handy survival kit with me when we found you all after the crash. One can never have too many life preservers and sewing kits on hand, am I right people? Although you really should be getting some work done, instead of loafing around talking about singing and other such nonsense We need to count out our provisions for the next month...again! Any volunteers?

The Second Crash - Sign Ups
Ranger of the Forest replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Shoot, is it too late for me to sign up? Post-NaNoWriMo has left me in a coma for the past few days. Ah well, I'll fill this stuff out just in case. 1.) Yes. Possibly a no to your second question, however... 2.) Yes. 3.) Eh, probably 2, but if it helps motivate you more then a 5. 4.) Sure thing 5.) Either Naboo or Mossflower Woods. 6.) I've never had the good fortune to see it in the flesh, but it looks gorgeous for sure. -
Also thank you DLL and JJP for being amazing hosts! Really enjoyed playing, and the pictures were fantastic
