On picture 2 why is the man with the green hat holding a stick with a hand on it?

Thats funny because i watched a lego pirate youtube video with two cannons that slide like you said and i took that idea but i still have no spare cannons so i will have to buy two soon,then i will show the finished ship.

So does this means you can take it off the magnetic base?

I bought this set for about £7.00 its pretty cool and good for army building.

Well about the cannon thing,im using all my cannons on the brick beards bounty ship so i dont have any spares but i will hopefully be getting a few soon from toy fairs or off ebay.But i will probably only be able to store two on the same side because there are only eight studs on the hull and cannons take up four plus the pull back piece on the back.

I am going to get cannons and pic 1 makes the sails hard to see,also I am unable to upload any more pics. Ah now more pics.
