  1. While I don’t normally like to dismiss things out of hand, the idea of a “Civil War” seems very unlikely. I wonder where people come up with these things! I do hope the rumour of the wolf being included in the smallest set is legit; I’ll be able to justify buying a few sets to get a small pack of wolves.
  2. There’s a black shape across from the “ice dragon” piece that looks horned; I wonder if it’s part of the building, another dragon (doubtful) or a bigfig. I did see that apparently it comes with 9 minifigures, and that the sketch is missing a tower with a crossbow piece.
  3. That’s an interesting idea! I wonder why they never expanded on those emblems. Maybe because it felt too random in the early days; or as you mentioned, perhaps they felt it was too redundant with Chima.
  4. I like fully molded (poseable) mounts/beasts/etc. As @Exetrius pointed out, they tie more into the “play” aspect for me. I like the newer brick-built ones as opposed to the older molded head/brick-built body from an aesthetic standpoint, but I do wish Ninjago had more animals like the classic horses, dragons or the JP dinosaurs.
  5. If there’s actually a contingent of Pyro Snake antagonists, I’d love for some of them to have the lava/serpentine torso she had. I’d also welcome molded (not brick-built) snake steeds with open arms. The brick-built dragons from the Dragon Hunter line are far superior to the ones from the first series, but still really lust for proper old school mounts in Ninjago.
  6. Interesting; I wonder if he (or she) uses a flame whip. It would be cool to see a team of antagonists that mirror the ninja’s elements.
  7. I’m very curious to see what the villains will look like for the summer sets. The general consensus seems to be an ice based, but I’m not sure if that’s due to statements from the showrunners (I haven’t been active on Twitter in years) or just assumptions from the leaked set names. I took another look at the leaked photos of the white wolf/fox earlier today; while I was initially assuming it to be some sort of mount/animal, now I’m wondering if it’s a transformed character. The eyes are very expressive, and something about the markings seem similar to the elemental symbols on the new ninja outfits.
  8. I love it! I wonder if all the ninjas will get that elemental “mask” print.
  9. Oh, I get why they went the way they did; and I think they did a great job (as far as I can tell from tye pics). I’m just not sure they’ll fit into my own builds. We shall see! At the very least, I can use some “normal” parts to build characters. If the line goes beyond the one wave, I’d love to see other types of monsters. Amd I’m a huge fan of mini-fig packs.
  10. Those are amazing! I’m curious as to how he built the balloon parts for the airship and hot air balloon... On topic, I’m not a huge fan of the “possessed” figures from a purely aesthetic view. I like some of the pieces, but I feel that having only certain parts look ghostly and other pieces being normal off-putting. For my own collection anyway; similar to how I feel about fleshies compared to the standard yellow.
  11. It does seem like that sometimes! I’m really curious to see what this next wave will do.
  12. This looks like an interesting line; I’m not sure that I’ll actively collect it, but I’ll at least need that boat set. Mainly for the tan crocodile, but the boat and kayak could be useful as well.
  13. But they aren’t really “mech pilots” as a general rule; most of the machines they operate are vehicle-based, when they aren’t traveling on a flying pirate ship or battling on top of dragons. They tweak the suits to tie into whatever sub-theme is current, while still maintaining the “ninja” motif. On a toy level, the suits are the only thing that really makes the line “ninjas”; everything else is a clever mix of fantasy, sci-fi and whatever-punk (cyber, steam, bamboo, etc). I imagine that’s what’s helped maintain the theme’s evergreen status; there are elements that appeal to all sorts of interests.
  14. Anything’s possible; but the pictures I’ve seen of the wolf figure seem more geared to an East Asian theme than the “American cartoon” vibe I’m getting off of this theme.
