  1. Hello, First post here. I was at Toy Fair, and saw the Death Star Close up and took some pics of it: http://jeditemplearchives.com/toyfair2005/lego/#rots4 The model that they are using on the Lego Shop Site, looks to me to be the same Model that I tooks pics off at Toy Fair. I don't see any variation in the 2. If you say so... I assume the photos that were taken at S@H had slightly different angles than Ace's (Admin of FBTB), since his pics showed a lot of gaps between the plates... Oh well, I think that model is made to be looked at from a distance! *wacko*
  2. Actually, I have the 4x4 Offroader and the chassis is full of studded beams. It is absolutely beautiful and the few styling parts make it even better. It's its smaller counterpart, the Extreme Offroader that lacks studded beams, I can count only 4! Well I have the Off Roader as well, but what I really meant by lacking, is the use of those bendable hoses/beames instead of the Studded Technic beams as part of the outlined body frame. Nonetheless, it is still one of the best Technic sets ever made.
  3. It is bad news for the Spiderman Line fans, but on the other hand its good news for the true AFOL community... LEGO should go back to it's original themes like the old days... But after seeing that Dino line, I'm not really sure LEGO is heading on the right track! :/
  4. The Star Wars is the best line made in the past 10 years or so, the designs and the variety of parts are still the best I've seen in a while... The Designer line comes second IMO.
  5. Well, the Off Roader was the closest one to perfection, it had a working gearbox, suspension, working steering mechanism and even hydraulic doors. The only thing that it lacked is the studded Technic elements. But I do agree that the old Technic sets were the absolute beauties... Now, the new Technic XXL Crane might be the second best among the new Technic releases. Oh, and that F1 Silver Champion was a good engineering marvel.
  6. Now that's a bit disappointing to tell you the truth, especially for such a big set. :/
  7. BTW, does it have a gearbox mechanism (like a working gearbox similar to the Off Roader)?
  8. Yes it does, we're having fun crtiticising crappy blocks :-D I can tell. :)
  9. I'm a big fan of Technic (well, the old Technic), and this baby is a must for me... But I still think they could have used more of the studded Technic elements with some tiles here and there. I wonder what is the American MSRP on this set?
  10. Post the all the entries in this thread, plus you could always post them again in their individual threads to discuss them like any other MOC. If you have any question, please go ahead and post it right here. Or if you prefer PMing me, go ahead. :)
  11. why would that stink if they were all or most (dinos stink) awsome? So would you like to see the whole world driving one brand of cars, or kids play with one brand of Toys? That would be awful, don't you think? Variety in general makes the market competitive thus making the products more innovative and less expensive (well most of the time)... The same applies on this kind of medium. OK sorry MAN >:( Hey... Take it easy, will you. I was just clarifying my own opinion, that's all. Of course you could always disagree, it's your prerogative you know. ;)

  13. So? Does that mean you have to stop discussing or building? Of course (of cause :P) not. If you wanna really enjoy this hobby, most of you should go build something and share it with this community. :-D
  14. Honestly, what is the purpose of this subject? Talking about how bad Megablocks will get you nowhere! I see these clone brick products as serious competitors, which is healthy on many levels. Just imagine buying one brand of cars, TVs, cheese, computers...Etc. That would stink, right? Plus everything would be utterly expensive and less innovative. The same goes for the construction Toy market.
  15. Guys, if you are so bored talking about it, go build something better. Just a suggestion. ;)
  16. Although I did not purchase any thing from him yet (simply because I'm a LEGO purist), I still think he is a great designer. If I had his molding skills and money, I would start my own brick toy line as well... (LEGO in mind, not Megablocks).
  17. Technically yes, but I've seen earlier models that showed SOT construction for those legs (which I'm not a big fan of)... I posted that just to be on the safe side you know. ;) But the more use of SNOT, the better IMO, as long as you don't loose the artistic vision.

  19. Hello every one, This is a contest that I'm currently hosting at FBTB, but after talking to Jipay, and in order to promote some building around, we decided to re-post it over here as well, and hopefully to follow it up with more contests that might strike your interests.... I had this idea of introducing a series of new concept vehicle contests based on the OT Star Wars movies.. I just simply called them the OT New Concept Vehicle Contests, where we the LEGO customizers try to be creative, innovative and competitive to produce some fresh new versions of the actual movie elements that we all loved and adored through out the years. This idea came to me after reading some of the trends we all hyped about (and made fun of) when we knew that Mr. Lucas might continuously keep modifying the OT movies with newer special versions
  20. Like I said at the FBTB forums, they are great, and a couple of them are hilarious. :-D Keep them coming.
  21. Dude, forget Canada, and move to France at once... You lucky Bas****..... :-D
  22. Sorry to bug in, but... Holy Smoke! I just saw the prettiest administrator ever!.... :oD *wub* And no Jipay, I wasn't talking about you...
  23. Great, what I have wished for is becoming a reality. I'm looking forward to it anxiously. :oD
