  1. That is the point - you migth believe they make more money with the battle packs bought by AFOLs, but unless you have actual proof that AFOLs spend more money than children/parents, I won't take this for granted - even though there are many AFOLs around the world, LEGO is still considered to be a children's toy by most adults; therefore I am pretty sure the majority of TLG's customers are children.
  2. Right, because TLG only has customers who are army-building people willing to pay thousands of dollars for battle packs - who needs those countless children wanting to be able to play immediately with only one set anyway? I think what Mirandir says sounds legit, of course it isn't proven until we have pictures, but since it is the first time he has such news there is no way to make sure he isn't lying. For the moment I am willing to believe him, I don't see any reason why he should start to post fake news after 4 years on this site...
  3. The TIE Fighter is confirmed, so there are only 3 sets left for CW/TPM. I guess the TIE will be at 50$, which leaves a 70$ set and two 30/25 $ sets. Since the battle packs are likely to be OT (Endor, you know) I doubt that these 3 sets will contain any other OT sets. Still, half of the sets being from the old trilogy seems like quite a success after all the CW stuff we got lately...
  4. I think 50$ are more realistic. It is quite big compared to the older versions und it includes 4 minifigs, 3 of them featuring a new piece. The bounty hunter gunship has the same amounts of minifigs. The TIE easily consists of 400 parts, so actually the gunship's price range is perfect for this set. I really like it, though. At first glance I thought it was a new UCS, the detailing is really nice for a "normal" set and the figs are great. Compared to the new Naboo Starfighter, this is actually worth the money...
  5. Great review! I have to agree with Brickdoctor, though; the battle pack design was far better, this one looks much too bulky. IN your SN set?
  6. 5) Cryostasis (Build by Darkblane) 3 points Truly an amazing build!
  7. 21) Mad Scientist Entry (Build by Darkblane) 1 point 24) Musketeer Entry (Build by mookage) 2 points
  8. We already have a proper translation; everybody can use google to to it. Besides, the google translator makes an awful lot of mistakes.
  9. It is one of the pictures you get when you click the picture of the Naboo Fighter on this site: http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=7877&cn=709
  10. Nope. All the new sets are available in Germany and there are reviews of a small set (Ewok Attack), a middle-sized set (Geo Fighter) and a large set (Frigate), and none of it contained any pictures of the Hoth set. I guess it will be a random release like the Dropship, until the release of the Executor TLG has nothing to release for SW fans, so why not throw in a nice big Hoth set?
  11. Yes. Someone who bought Ewok Attack promised to make a review today, so at least this set will be reviewed soon enough
  12. All the "normal" summer sets are available in Germany (only in LEGO Land, though); someone from imperiumdersteine.de bought some of them and took those pictures of the minifigs: http://imperiumdersteine.de/album.php?albumid=1387
  13. Interesting... it seems that TLG realized their mistake quite fast, at least I can't see the picture anymore. Well, in case anybody hasn't seen it, it is still visible at imperiumdersteine.de: http://imperiumdersteine.de/showthread.php?p=511273#post511273
  14. No, we have never heard of that set... do you have a link to your source or where did you get this information? It sounds more interesting than Jabba's Palace, but 400 €... I'd rather buy the Death Star now It does make sense that TLG releases a new expensive and big set to replace the DS, though...
  15. Rememember the new-sized Battle of Naboo and Plo Koons Jedi Starfighter sets? The other sets are much smaller as well, at least in Germany every new set is considerably smaller than it was before. The battle packs now are just a little bit bigger than impulse sets... it looks a bit weird on the shelf, you have to pay three times the money for the same size, but it is much better than those ridiculously large boxes.
  16. Well, last year the sets were available in May, so it is possible that you can get them in about a month (BoN was sold in Novembre, so at least in France everything is possible ).
  17. Another raffle would be great Congrats to the winners, a bag of astromechs is a wonderful price to win!
  18. We have the new design since yesterday, so how could this be an April's Fool joke? Awesome idea, the gun is a nice touch, I miss the eb stars, though. I'm sure you are working on this, great decision anyway All this talking about plastic was ridiculous, finally this forum has grown up.
  19. WOW! That is one big and beautiful collection, legolandia! I wonder how long it took to collect every fig there is... except for Boga, of course 29 $ for the Attack Shuttle? In Germany you have to pay 70 €...
  20. Great idea - my entry is done, the idea may not be the best but I couldn't come up with anything else, and I really want to win this Boba Seriously, it's amazing what the staff does for this forum - indeed!
  21. Sometimes, after a long day of bounty hunting, Boba enjoys to look at some old 3D hologram pictures of his childhood; even though they are in black and white, he still feels like a boy again when he sees the picture of his 14th birthday and his first mandalorian armor his father gave him that day. Picture 1: Boba sitting in his leather chair looking at the photo on his expensive wooden hologram projector; besides the controls&displays there are 6 ports for hologram disks. Picture 2: The White Boba goes on the white square in the floor. Picture 3: Here you can see that it is 16x16 studs.
  22. Is this so hard to get? Some people love sets even though the angles aren't perfect or it doesn't look exactly like the studio model. In this case, I think the LEGO model looks much better than the fighter seen in the movies, so I absolutely agree with Roncanator. Every time somebody says he actually likes the way a LEGO model looks you just post some reference pictures, I think you really didn't get the idea of LEGO Star Wars sets if it is that easy to confuse you. My choice would have to be the UCS Falcon, but I would just resell it and buy the sets I like (even though some angles might be half of a degree off ). The set I like best is the 7662 MTT, and yes, I know that there are several flaws such as the droid deployment device but it is still an awesome set which looks great in your army and comes with a whole bunch of battle droids.
  23. First of all: Great job everybody, they all look amazing and it was really hard to decide which one I liked best! I chose Rufus' Banner - I love the way Maul's lightsaber creates a perfect background for the text. The figs on the right are beautifully composed while they appeal every SW fan there is (Clone Wars, Prequels, OT), and thanks to the death star, which continues the line of the eb stars perfectly, the left side isn't too empty either. The stars & text which blend very well with the overall design make it easily recognizable as a eurobricks site - in my opinion the perfect way to decorate the blog
  24. My thoughts exactly... Your last x-wing looked great, but I like the clean look of marshal_banana's X-wing better. Your angles/proportions may look better, but the overall look isn't as good as it could be with more SNOT or tiles. The cockpit of your last one looks much worse than marshal's solution, are you going to use this piece again? Anyway, your x-wing does look very good, but if you want to make it look as much as possible like the fighters seen in the movies you have to make it more clean and sleek.
  25. Nothing new about it... When do we usually get info/pics of UCS sets? I hope a picture of the Hoth set shows up soon, after the big disappointment of the N-1 I want some good news...
