  1. On another note, I'm really digging the "slice of sky" behind the fox's cart. That's a cute use of parts.
  2. Isn't the whole scene about Easter eggs? (It's an ironic turn of phrase for this MOC, is all I'm saying.) I see a cow skull on the bunny side, and the little bunny is eating a chicken leg and is surrounded by more bones. Monty Python reference? What a great scene! This is the first time I've seen that baby chick costume and now I want one!
  3. I'm seeing some of the Easter/spring parts turn up on Bricklink, but they're quite expensive as availability was limited before everyone went into lockdown. I'm planning to hold off until I can visit a store.
  4. Man oh man, are these terrific! Too bad it's April Fools and they're not real! Wait...none of yours have been real regardless of the date they were posted...unless you count the few where a similar one has been produced... DANGIT, LEGO, HIRE THIS GUY AND USE ALL HIS IDEAS!!! I think my favorite this time around is the Sea Nymph--I love that elaborate hair and the print on her dress! The Folk Dancer has a very, very nice printed design as well.
  5. My cryptid of choice is Mothman's next-door neighbor, Flatwoods.
  6. There was a Chupacabra at one point.
  7. These are so cute! I love them all! Is that venom in the Herpetologist's flask?
  8. Well as long as we're just spitballing... Fey Folk Pack--various elves, fairies, goblins, etc. Mini-builds: gnarly tree, giant mushroom, patch of flowers and crystals Funny Animal Pack--like City, but everyone is an anthropomorphic cartoon critter. (Alternately: like Chima, but not epic fantasy whatever. Or: like Fabuland, but not obsolete) Monster Mash Pack--All your favorite Halloween archetypes, in one place and with updated designs
  9. I would love to see non-City people packs, but I understand why it's been exclusively a City thing so far. It's because, not to put too fine a point on it, cities are where you find lots of people. The point of most sizable building sets is the structures, not the minifigures...but then it looks kind of odd to have a bustling city scene with only five or six people in it. Enter the people packs, which provide a nice little "supplementary cast" (plus some more mini-builds) to flesh out the scene. The upshot is that for a given people pack to make sense, there ought to be an active LEGO theme or sub-theme that lends itself to well-populated models. As much as I would love to see any and all of the people packs you list, there wouldn't be much that could be done with them unless LEGO also launched matching building sets. Which of course many of us would appreciate! The only one that strikes me as a little odd in that context is the Dungeon Adventurer pack--if there were a related theme, I would expect the building sets themselves to include all the appropriate minifigs, making a people pack redundant. Out of your list, the one I see the most hope for as things currently stand is the Hogwarts Students pack. I think kids are more interested in the named characters from the movies, but AFOL Harry Potter fans would probably go for it in order to bulk up their scenes. Even better, though, might be a Diagon Alley/Hogsmeade pack, with students in their uniforms but also adult wizards in a variety of whimsical costumes, plus mini-builds related to magical shops and even a couple of creatures!
  10. I love him. I just have one suggestion. Maybe rename him Houngan? "Voodoo Doctor" could be construed as derogatory. Houngan is the actual traditional name for the role.
  11. Those color combos are gorgeous! They almost look iridescent!
  12. If they were using you for inspiration, the series would be much better than it is. I think it's a coincidence. A stuffed bunny is a reasonably obvious variation on a teddy bear.
  13. I confess to being pretty disappointed in this lineup, especially for a milestone like this. Maybe I'll feel better about it when I get to see them, but for now it's pretty lackluster. At the very least, you know what they should have done? 20 separate figures. There is ample precedent for going beyond the typical 16, and it would have been both appropriately special and thematic.
  14. @Toastie Just wanted to say, nice HHG reference!
  15. This seems to reflect a difference in the way adults and kids approach LEGO. Speaking in broad strokes, I think kids see their sets as toys and adults see them as miniature models. A vehicle is easier and more intuitive to play with after assembly than a building or other stationary structure, which is more natural to just sit in place on display.
  16. I called out the Halloween partygoer, Pink Elephant, and Ice Wizard (that's what I call him) because I can see characters like these being included in a CMF series without being decried as mere retreads of previous figures. The Halloween gal isn't exactly wearing a costume, is she?--just clothes and hair dye (and depending on the face you use, makeup) that proclaim a love of Halloween. The Pink Elephant is arguably a spinoff of the Series 18 Elephant Girl, but the Valentine's Day iconography stands out. Whereas if the 2018 Halloween characters had been included in a regular CMF line, everyone would have complained that they were just slight recolors of existing figures. I think it represents a new phase in a trend.
  17. It does kinda seem that way, doesn't it? I've identified four "stages" of this phenomenon: 1. BAM station contains what I assume is overstock of minifig parts from identifiable figures and sets. Sometimes you get CMF parts in there, but never enough to complete a particular figure--for example, I saw a lot of Egyptian queen heads and torsos at one point, but not her skirt or hair. 2. From time to time, you see variant colors of parts that have never been used in a known minifig, such as the blue clown wig and teal scarecrow hat. 3. End of 2018: The BAM stations are loaded with Halloween and Christmas themed parts that obviously go together as complete minifigs, and are equally obviously based on existing CMFs (and Mrs. Claus). Yet they are still different enough to be worth collecting, if you like that sort of thing. It's nice to be able to build a Halloween town where not all the vampires are identical. 4. End of 2019-now: We are seeing entirely new CMF-like characters, such as the Halloween partygoer, ice wizard, and pink Valentine elephant, that can only be assembled from BAM stations. Are they rejected CMF concepts that made it far enough into pre-production to be deemed worth manufacturing and selling a different way? Who knows, but I stan! We do need to get these new parts posted on Bricklink though. Part of the reason I was so unsettled when I couldn't find them at my local store was that I knew that was the only way for me to obtain them.
  18. Magnificent, @Robert8! The Monster Bride is one that I'm baffled hasn't actually been made yet. The Park Ranger would be an instant chaser with that fawn, and likewise the Shepherd with the black lamb. I love the Centaur's hair, which would work equally well for a feral elf. The Oni, I notice, has blue skin. Can we expect a red one in the future?
  19. Crisis averted! Both pink elephant and ice wizard were in abundance at the Glendale, CA store today! I grabbed a bunch of penguins too! And the employee manning the BAM station said they should get the Q2 Easter parts right on schedule.
  20. Oof, I hope I can find the elephant and that crystal torso. None of the stores I've been to so far have had them.
  21. Such smoldering intensity!
  22. This already looks like great fun!
  23. Oh, no. I haven't even found the Valentine's elephant or snow crystal guy yet, and now these are showing up? What am I going to do? All these holiday/seasonal minifig parts are too cute!
  24. Will we be seeing a new series when February rolls around?
  25. We need some kind of large floppy-eared dog, for sure. I don't know about the rest of you but I have to give TLG the side-eye for trying to pass off a perky-eared dog as a "Dalmatian" in some recent sets.
