  1. The binoculars in this case are used as air horns, the boat equivalent of a car horn. Example from a random Google site: http://www.boatersworld.com/product/MP80814520.htm?bct=%3Bcihorns
  2. My 4-1/2 year old daughter is the reason I got back into LEGO, and I do wish they had more "girly" sets. I bought both pink boxes, but that's not enough. I am glad they have a good representation of female minifigs in the collectible lines, she loves to get the girl ones!
  3. I need a Painter, Ice Skater, Frankenstein, Wolfman, Haz Mat Guy and Surfer Girl from S4 and the Tennis Player and Hula Dancer from S3. PM me a price shipped to zip code 74105.
  4. Spongebob and Patrick packed up! (Squidward is in there too!) My daughter really wants those little guys! (That's her favorite part of LEGO)
  5. I always see sets on sale at the Wal Mart here, usually between 10-20% off. Not bad.
  6. I just finished sorting through the ones I got last week, and turned up with almost 200 Minifigs, over 22,000 blocks and parts (had to seperate them from the other toys and Mega Blocks and wash them all, so I figured I might as well count them. My wife helped thank God!). Alot of classic stuff mixed with some newer stuff, but nothing newer than around 2000. I had to buy some new storage bins to hold it all! I actually tossed a few things before realizing they were LEGO, like the big old yellow life vests and the brown parts to make palm trees. :(
  7. Honestly, I don't get it.
  8. My best find so far! Traded a Sega Dreamcast for a HUGE lot of LEGO ranging from very very old to one small set of Star Wars (as far as I could tell). Let's just say the gas station signs go from Shell to Exxon to Octan. From Space to Space Police, to things I've never even seen. Pirates and forestmen, knights and a ghost. I even found a small LEGO compass. AND I've only made it through one box out of three. :) 72 complete guys so far, and I'm sure there's more to come! I would have traded the Dreamcast just to look through this stuff! I love Craigslist!
  9. I was hoping there would be pieces I could use, but I don't see any use for any of it. The $5 is pretty much for my time and packing materials. :) If there was anyone local, I'd just give it away!
  10. I agree, I have no use for it since it isn't really "compatible" with standard LEGO stuff. Someone might be interested, maybe the Bionicle crowd?
  11. This is not my first MOC, but it is the first I've posted online! Here's a link to my website, you can view the slideshow there, or just the individual pics. http://alexandriahope.com/GallerySlideshow.aspx?gallery=409609&mt=Photo This was created yesterday with my daughters help (who the website is named for!) It took me about 3 hours or so to get everything right, but I could work on it for weeks. I usually build things and then take them apart the next day, so I figured I would start taking pics of them. I decided to share this one since my daughter liked it so much. The 3 roof sections are removable for interior play. Included in this MOC are a pizza oven with pizza paddles on the side and a chimney, booth seating along the front wall, table seating in the open dining area, an outside eating area with flowers and a cute umbrella for the table, and the pizza lady's bike out front. There are various interior lights, and decorations on the wall above the booths. The kitchen is complete with a fridge and sink with dirty pots and cups. :) I included a street scene with streetlamps, and a small porion of a chained-off field across the street with bushes, flowers and a horse having lunch. Comments welcome, but sugggestions will be noted for next time since it will be coming apart tonight. :)
  12. Got an awesome older lot today: 7094 - Kings Castle Siege (missing 4 unimportant pieces) 7040 - Dwarve's Mine Defender (complete!) 7624 - Indiana Jones - Jungle Duel (complete!) 7620 - Indiana Jones - Motorcycle Chase (complete!) 7625 - Indiana Jones - River Chase (complete!) 7621 - Indiana Jones - The Lost Tomb (complete!) MEGA BLOCKS - Going to Goodwill :) Anyone want to take a guess at what this lot is worth? (Not on eBay, just what you would be willing to pay) They had all of the instructions in pretty good condition and the boxes are there, but some were folded and crumpled (The kings castle one is huge, so it was folded in half) My daughter is very happy today, and I am as well!
  13. After sitting in my closet for the past couple weeks, I thought I might as well sell this cheap to someone who can use it! $5+shipping, Paypal accepted, US only. I could also trade it for something, let me know what you've got! Box was opened, figure was assembled, figure was disassembled, box was closed. :) http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=8519&cn=619
  14. Another 3 For 2 TRU deal - LEGO Creator Apple Tree House, (another) Train Station, and City Corner. My daughter will love the Pizzeria, little boy on the skateboard and the bike, and I like the pieces that come with the Train Station.
  15. Picked up the "Traveller", "Wizard" and "Manta Warrior" impulse sets (3 for 2 strikes again!). I'll get the Jester one eventually! I've bought LEGOs almost every day this week due to the sale, and tomorrow will probably be no different...
  16. Got the Toy Story Alien Ship, Kraken Attackin' Pirate set, Kingdoms Prison Carriage Rescue, and Prince Of Persia Desert Attack. Another Toys R Us 3 For 2 deal, so we got the sets for some added characters, horses, the octopus, scorpion and snake along with other parts. Also got 4 Spartans for a fellow member and the rest of the Series 2 Minifigs to complete my S2 collection. My 4 year old loves LEGO and loves that her dad doesn't mind buying them 2 or 3 sets at a time. :)
  17. +1 for UsernameMDM! Got my minifigs today in perfect shape. Thanks!
  18. I know you can buy kits (such as from lifelites) but I'd rather do it myself. It's cheaper and more fun that way! I'm glad there are kits like that though since no everyone is electronically inclined!
  19. I searched for topics using "lighting" and it came back with all photography threads, and "LED" had no results. I know LEGO sells the lighting kit (two lights and a wire that connects to a power source), but how many of you use LEDs and battery packs to achieve the same effect? I also had the old LEGO lights (colored translucent blocks with "Fire" or "Police" on them, but they used bulbs and were cumbersome to power. As someone knowledgeable in electronics, it seems to be the next step after building a LEGO construction is to add lights! I have been experimenting the last few days with LEDs and different translucent LEGO pieces with some nice results. The blue and orange "flame" pieces are interesting in that diffeent colored LED lights diffuse differently between the two colors. I'll continue this later when I can get some time to make some short videos, but just wondered why this isn't a bigger part of LEGO building. Thanks for such a great site, and I hope to contribute and help as much as I can!
  20. I will look when I go get the rest of the ones I want tomorrow and will do $5 each plus the cheapest shipping I can do. Be back tomorrow...
  21. Took advantage of the "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" sale at Toys R Us! Got Spongebob's Good Neighbors Set, the Kingdoms Prison Tower Rescue set, and the City Train Station set. Spongebob's house was cooler than I expected, and the other two have yet to be opened yet! Also got some Series 2 Minifigs at Wal Mart (surprisingly!). Got a Mariachi Man, Surfer, Skiier, Vampire, Lifeguard, Mime, Spartan, Witch, Cop, and Pop Star. They have an almost full box, so I'll go back for the rest tomorrow!
  22. Well, it's just the basic brown rock that splits in two and there's a nub to fit stuff onto, and it came with a yellowish-green crystal. I think I found a guy that goes with the set, so maybe I will takesome pics tomorrow and see if he might help! Thanks!
  23. I checked out the LEGO.com forums and all it was was weird role playing. Eww. Anyway, I'm a longtime LEGO lover since my childhood (35 now) and my daughter had taken a liking to a few old small sets I had in a shoebox about a year ago, and it's been fun ever since. Bought her three buckets (small and large pink ones and a large blue one) Police Station, Fire Truck (the one with the little raft on the trailer), the Seaplane, the Toys R Us Semi Truck, this years City Advent Calendar and a few others I cannot remember. I started her off with my old sets that had an AT-ST, Landspeeder, and the Droid Escape set along with some extra pieces from God knows where! Happy to find such a great community!
  24. We picked the Big Chill set just because it looked the coolest to us. This one: http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=8519&cn=619
