8043 Motor Upgrade
Chrizzle replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi, I have done this quite a wihle ago. The only thing you will need to solve is the different length of the L-Motor. But in my opinion it's worth the changes that you have to make on the 8043, since performance drastically improves! I also used two of the new V2 receivers. Everthing powerd by the 8878 rechargeable battery box. - Performance - Tracks and Motor PlacementRegards Chrizzle -

Hello again, after I have seen several mocs of the so called baja/trophy trucks I tried to design my own one. The model is roughly inspired by the monster energy baja truck. Here is the result: Main view: I also decided to add some lights: As most of those trucks it carries a spare wheel for emergencies: Side view of the truck: Rear suspension and gear ratio: If you like you can check out a short vid of its performance here: https://vimeo.com/68913085 (video will be active in a few minutes) Regards chrizz -

Chrizzle's MOCs
Chrizzle replied to Chrizzle's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hello everyone, after a rather long break from building technic, due to my bachelor's thesis I now want to share with you my latest creation. I decided to start with something simple, yet playable. So I combined the features of the 8043 (6 functions with 4 motors) with the claw of 42006 (great playability). As I'm a proud owner of two 9398 crawler sets I also decided to replace the m-motors and receivers by 4 l-motors and two new V2-Receivers. Everything is powerd by the 8878 rechargeable battery box. I also added some lights for the looks.Well as most of the parts of this moc are more or less copied from the two sets I at least wanted to do the lower structure on my own and didn't use the 8043 solution. Check out the details here: https://vimeo.com/64623068 - Performance https://vimeo.com/64623070- Motors and Tracks As most of you know the two sets already, here are only a few pictures of the model: So that's it for now. The creation turned out to be really fun to play with and is rather easy to build as you can use the imo awesome 8043 gearbox solution. Hope you like it. Regards chirzzle -

After a long break from building i started with another creation. It is a simple RC-Frontloader, inspired by the set 8265. I just wanted to have it fully RC and in another colour scheme! here are some images from my Brickshelf Folder this time i could also make a simple video where you can see its performance! My link hope you like it regards chrizzle -
Hello, what you have read in the topic is correct, you can just phone Lego Customer Service and tell them that you want to order parts. What you need to identify the correct part is the number of the specific item that u can look up in the building instruction of the set. Also they can sometimes identify the part using the so called "design number" whihc bricklink.com uses for identifying the parts. Furthermore the Lego Customer Service can tell you then, if the part is available or not and how much it costs. I have ordered a lot of parts using this method and i am very satisfied with it! Just give it a try! Hope i could help you! PS: i live in Germany, but i think that you can use that Lego Service in almost every country.

Problem with RC buggy Motors
Chrizzle replied to Chrizzle's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
thank you guys for the fast replies! then i will have to rebuild my construction and use two of the accu packs! kind of waste that you have to use two of them in a single MOC^^ -
Hey guys! i just bought 2 RC buggy motors (Buggy Motor) as i wanted to crate a vehicle using skid steeting (inspired by mahjqas metal grudge) i wired it up like the following: the 8878 accu pack gives power to one IR Receiver where i connected the buggy motors by using two 20cm extension wires. one motor goes to the red channel the other one to the blue channel. the gear train is made like u can see below and i am using the faster rpm output (aoverall result is 453 rpms according to sariel's gear ratio calculator): so now to my issue: when driving around, sometimes the motors don't run smoothly, that means they are stalling on random, so the vehicle just does little "jumps" forward and can actually not drive fluently. so the motors start running for a milisec and stop instantly, this makes driving impossible. i checked if i made any mistake in wiring things up or the gear train has some problems, but everything works smoothly... the IR Receiver isn't affected by strong light or anything else, and the accu pack was fully loaded before driving... so i'm wondering if the battery pack can't deliver enough voltage or amperes to the motors that they won't run properly... maybe the vehicle is too heavy, but except the power functions parts the chassis is only made of a few pieces... (it's definately lighter than 1 kilogramme) so if u have any idea what might cause this problems please share your thoughts! thx in advance regards chrizzle

Chrizzle's MOCs
Chrizzle replied to Chrizzle's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So, this time i want to present you my biggest MOC so far, a mobile crane inspired by the Liebherr LTM Series! It took me about 3 weeks of building and almost all of my yellow parts... more pictures in my brickshelf folder the crane's features are: - all 5 axles driven (2x XL Motor) - all 5 axles steered, first and last axle with same radius, three inner axles with same radius (1x Motor) - four outriggers (1x M Motor) - roating upper section (1x XL Motor) - extandable counter weight (1x M Motor) - extandable 3 section boom (1x M Motor) - rope winch (1x Motor) - lifting and lowering boom (1x XL Motor) - cabine angle adapts to boom's lifting angle additional power functions elements: - 2x 8878 accu pack (one in the vehicle itself, 2nd in the upper structure) - 4 IR Receiver (2 of them in each section) - 5x lights - some extension wires i have to say that i am really satisfied with the result, cause i have never managed to build something that complex, that actually works^^ all functions work quite smooth (for the model's size - that means no slipping gears or struggling motors) unfortunately the upper structure cannot be turned full 360° when the counter weight is extended, but it was impossible for me to fix that problem, bacause i needed the extra weight as far away from the rotating point to crate a balance for the boom! the model is 99,999% made of lego parts except the rope i used (i had to snatch it from my grandma^^) videos of the functions are already recorded. i will upload them soon! hope u enjoy regards chrizzle -

Megabloks is stealing Technic building techniques
Chrizzle replied to Plastic Nurak's topic in Community
Hey, well i saw megablocks first on amazon.de and it is of course two sided: on the one hand a little competition might keep the prices lower, BUT on the other hand i think that megablocks wont be able to gain lots of costumers with copying something that already exists, with lower quality...it's just a shame... I'm also sure that LEGO has still some patents concerning measurements of the parts, colour schemes and so on... And don't forget, that LEGO has A LOT MORE experience and a huge advantage in kowledge concerning building techniques and production processes! I just hope that megablocks get wiped off the market ;-) -
Technic "Themes"
Chrizzle replied to OrangeKNight's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
oh yes I total agree on this topic! I'd love to see more than just "standard machines"! For example something related to science fiction, futuristic vehicles etc. And of course a bit more variety in the major colour scheme would be nice, I personally feel a bit bored with so many grey and yellow parts...even red isn't attractive to me any more... -
8043's switch friction
Chrizzle replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
yeah, i noticed this some time ago... when i became my 8043 first, i was disappointed because it wasn't able to operate the switch function properly because of too much friction in my opinion... so what i did is rebuilt the whole thing...change the blue friction pin into the sand-colored frictionless pin and geared down the switch function by using the bevel gears! now it works very nicely! -
Hey! In my opinion it is not really strange that the clutch gears don't work properly after having been used for a long time. These parts are typically for decreasing their functions due to friction and abrasion! So it depends on how often you use your gears and at what load. Still I have to say it's a pity to have defect gears due to that, but no idea what lifetime TLG was planning for such parts. chrizzle

Chrizzle's MOCs
Chrizzle replied to Chrizzle's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
yeah suspension is the next big thing i will try on this one! unfortunately i have not enough of those rubber parts to improve the tracks! for the transmission: is there any other way to get the wheels droven without using this combination? for me it was important to keep it as small as possible! -
Chrizzle's MOCs
Chrizzle replied to Chrizzle's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
hey again! thanks for your comments so far! this time i want to share my latest creation what turned out to work pretty well! my intention was to create a tracked vehicle that can cope with every obstacle! and here are the results: overall view: front: back: side: so far the looks of it! hope you like it! and here some more pics from the technic used: chain detail: transmission: all of the four black wheels are powered the way you see it in this picture! i made it after the idea of a guy how showed a 8043 modification on brickshelf (don't remember his username) inside: so that's it! the vehicle works really nice it can go easily over obstacles due to the parts added on the chains! and if it might fall onto the other side you can just go on and drive away ;-) i hope that i can one day try out this creation with the rubber part concept of the stilzkin igniz i saw here on this forum ;-) so post comments and critics if you like!! regards chrizzle actually i built this because i received my new grey panels and wanted to try out any use for them, as you can see on the "side" view picture!!! -

I'm sorry that i have to ask, but how do i use a deeplink? and why isn't my brickshelf folder public? if i'm logged out on brickshelf i can search and view my folders... pls help^^ (btw sorry to post here for some reasons i can't see user profiles and so cant send pms) chrizzle -
Hey guys! finally i managed to upload some of my mocs I've built in 2010! in the following i will write a little description and the link to the concerning brickshelf folder! Please post comments, critics, improvement suggestions and so on! This is a little MOC based on the B-Model of 8258 the duty wrecker, I've modified it into a pickup including remote controlled driving (XL Motor) and steering (M-Motor), additionally 3 led lights. Pickup The next MOC i want to share here is a green racecar i built, here i tried out to power each rear wheel with a single M-Motor which wasn't very successfull in accelerating the car on good speeds;-) Green Racer The next link shows you my entrance for the Lego Technic Challenge "Bridges" It was supposed to be something like a bridge for trains...and I used all of my axles and axle connectors for building this: (unfortunately it wasn't supported on the technic blog) Bridge Last but not least my favorite MOC I've made so far, my insertion for the Lego Technic Challgene "Tracks" Unfortunately i didn't own the new Black "wheels" for driving the tracks like in 8043 so i had to use the old yellow ones from the Bulldozer. This creation even got featured on the Technic Blog in September, but it didn't manage into the big final round for adults (unfortunately) ;-) Tracked Explorer so i hope you enjoyed my MOCs...new ones will follow after my exams in two months;-) greetings from Germany Chrizzle

If you order via internet the service should only replace the parts which might be missing in your set, so it's no real "shopping" possibility. But if you call by telephone you can order "only" this 15 different parts and max. 200times, that's what I was told when I ordered there. I don't think that there's a difference between German Costumer Service and other countries should be the same everywhere. @ DLuders: here's a list with the parts i ordered: 4520872 - turntable used in 8043, 8258, and some other excavator sets 4539880 - "frame" part 7x5 also included in 8258 4540797 - "large frame" 11x5 again appears in 8258 4558692 - completely new part afaik first appeared in 8043 (it's the part for driving the tracks) 4560177 - axle 4L with stop 4540381 - white clutch gear included in 8297 and 8258 4560175 - new kind of pin grey color i saw it first in the race truck set 4558690 - again a part from 8043, it's the gear(grey coloured) driving the two main LA's 4562009 - don't know english expression, it's the steering part (black) like in 8258 for front steering 4540906 - also steering part only shorter included in 8052 soooo that's it ;-) to my knowledge all of those parts are quite new, but I'm also new to the whole Lego Community and started gathering sets and building only two years ago with the remote controlled bulldozer ;-), maybe someone knows better how long the parts are already being produced btw average price was about 1€ per part (but the turntable for example costs already 2,30€ or something) finally i cant's say if the part numbers differ between the countries but would make no sense for me, so i guess they are the same everywhere! i hope i could help you!
