I fit 7 just to store the homeless guys from the Tie. There is a FO crewman sitting on either side of the ST.
-
No doubt we will get a blue and white X-wing by next summer. The SF Tie is pretty and cool, but I'm still irked by the complete lack of value in the set and would never consider buying another. Can't even imagine the buyer's remorse I'd have if I had bought the UCF Tie.

Once the wings are modded, Kylo's shuttle edges out the Falcon for design, but this is my first Falcon and I love it dearly. So glad I skipped the old one last year.
-
The extra red stickers for the SF Tie go under the front canopy to make the color scheme solid. Exactly how mine is. Once assembled and put on for the first time, it goes on and off perfectly fine.

Lego has it better than Hasbro and the other toy companies. At least someone who would buy a $120 Lego shuttle has the ability to correct it by removing 12pcs.

[MOD] Wing and landing gear for Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle
pcsguy88 replied to Master Chief's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I just reworked mine to keep it as stock as possible and let the wings fall another half notch. I'd post pics, but this is probably the 8th redesign and doubtful to be the last. I want to see someone put a crank on one to raise and lower the wings. -
[MOD] Wing and landing gear for Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle

I chose to do a variation of Jangbrick's mod which took very little change. I can pin the wings in either position using the flick fire missile parts for swoosh-ability. My wings are about 5 degrees too vertical, but having them locked in more important. MC, why did you leave the now debunked lower wing sections on? -
Here you go. I might remove the front stickered plates, slide everything down towards the nose and then do the same design after the 2nd printed plate to give 2 launch points and hopefully conceal all the stickers.
-
I took one of the horizontal stickered plates out and used the remianing one to split 2 of the barricade plates. It makes your eyes not even notice those stickers now.
-
I really wish the horizontal 2x4 tiles on the runway had blast shield printing on them. Might need to see if the printed barricade plates could be used. Possibly functional ones.
-
Finally finished, it took 4 relaxed evenings. I was either shorted a Shield agent or I managed to lose it in the shag rug within 30sec of pour them into a coaster. Those things are tiny!

That's insane. *starts debate with self of selling off nano and minifigs.*
-
You could pop the very front deck and the upper angled deck off, build up the super structure into a minifig sized facade and then consider the whole set as just a sliver of the real thing for dios. Use the plates from the removed sections to double the width of the printed deck kinda like when I was playing around during the build.
-
They need to continue this trend of nanofigs for future sets. They are perfect for the Star Wars universe and it's massive ships. Imagine the interior rooms you could design into a Star Destroyer at that scale. Hopefully we get a steady source for these figures in the future.
-
Trust me, they'd look as stupid as a minifigure standing on the outside of the latest Star Destroyer. You'd be better off taking the runway prints and building a minifig scale grey wall on your table for close up comic shots. The minifigs are as tall as any part of the structure on this ship.

Here you go. I also tossed some prop planes on for those interested in building a WWII carrier with these new plates. I have no regrets over spending the money. This set along with Slave I and R2 I never look at and question the value as I do with the Sandcrawler. Lego has given us a perfect base to build any carrier you want or with cosmetic changes, make the helicarrier of your dreams. I will certainly be rebuilding the ships super structure into something more model friendly since I believe the big glass piece is what throws the entire scale out of whack and makes it look toyish.

My instruction booklet was in a normal parts bag numbered 1. I found that a bit odd.
-
Building the rotors was interesting, but building 4 of anything that large and complex does tend to drag. Each rotor had it's own set of numbered bags. I dug out my Tente vehicles from my 80's aircraft carrier and couldn't be happier with the results. I also snapped a pic so you guys could get a sense of the scale of this beast.

There is a ton of space in the hull and it feels like the very back section was suppose to house the Hulk's cage thingy, but was probably dropped so they didn't have to make a nano/micro scaled Hulk. There is a circular hole in the floor and a window into the main hull from back there. Sad.
-
I called it a night after 3 bags and fully concur. The hull is so rock solid it could be used as a blunt weapon. That's odd because I could swear I kept reading comment after comment on various sites and forums of how they were only going to sell 3 of them, clearance the rest and cut the planned run short. I hope you get one soon.

It's a sticker just like all the Star Wars UCS'.
-
Thru the first 2 sets of bags. What a phenomenal build to this point, especially if you love Star Wars sets. No buyers remorse at all even if it ends up being parted out down the road.
-
Picked mine up at lunch and boy is it a dense box. Oddly they did not have one on display at my Lego Store.

Interior of the Imperial Carrier is horrible. First time I've seen a built in handle detract from a set. http://news.toyark.com/2015/02/14/lego-star-wars-toy-fair-2015-150852
