  1. Thanks Mr. Chubbs. Guess there's no more procrastinating for me, time to finish this thing. Another question, how long does it take for an order to arrive from LEGO's Pick a Brick order and a Bricks n Pieces?
  2. Guys, this is a question from a noob who's about to take on the challenge of bricklinking the Green Grocer. aside from the sand green parts, I think I only have 10 pieces that are not available thru Lego's PAB and Brick and Pieces site. I have zero experience with the bricklink site. Based on your experience is it more economical for me buy most of my parts from the aforementioned lego sites and then get the other 10 from Bricklink. Thanks.
  3. Wow, all of them are astounding. Wish I was this good with LDD. This somewhat made me want to continue on my Tan Grocer Project which I abandoned a few months ago. I like the rustic feel of the first option is with sand yellow brick-bricks. Great work mate.
  4. I substituted all the tan bricks on the 2nd and third Floor exterior as well as the Dark Green ones on the First Floor Exterior with Black, I replaced all the Sand Green bricks on the exterior with Tan/Brick-Yellow. I also replaced the blue pieces in the awning with black.
  5. Thank you very much. I guess I skipped that page.
  6. Thanks. It did turn out great. It somehow looked great sandwiched between the Palace Cinema and Grand Emporium. So I believe I am sold. Yeah, LDD is off with the colors, that was why on my original post I was looking for anyone who did the SandGreen - Tan Substitution. I searched on google and have no luck finding one. Well, I originally considered replacing the groved bricks with the profile bricks in sand green. But if I stick with sand green, I need to buy a whole lot of other bricks in that color as well. I have an abundance of this brick-yellow/tan colored bricks thus the reason to do a Tan Grocery. Thanks. I made some minor changes and I think it's time to make a spreadsheet and start collecting the parts.
  7. The sand green 1x2 with grove bricks kills the deal for me. They arent available from Lego S@H and are priced astronomically on BL. ___________________________________ I made some changes and placed it beside the Palace Cinema LXF by Stephan. I am digging it.
  8. Thanks for the input. Brick Yellow was on the description, I really think it's tan as well. I got an abundance of these colored bricks by parting out the Tower Bridge and the Palace Cinema and from PAB Wall. Plus the 1x2 Brick with Grove is available in that color from Lego S@H. To be honest, I am not too excited on using this substitution but I really want to have a grocer for our modular town. I think I just need to figure a nice color (instead of black) to break the structure's tan monotony.
  9. I am planning to piece together the Green Grocer. To save money, I will replace all the sand green bricks with the brick yellow variants. I was just wondering if anyone has done the same color substitution before. I modified the Green Grocer LXF created by Man with a hat to get an idea of how it would look. What do you guys think?
  10. I regret resisting the urge to get out of my Dark Age. I am a big Modular Building fan and I missed out on the Green Grocer, Corner Cafe, Town Hall and Fire Brigade.
  11. I snack on these while building ....
  12. Building the mixel series was the best for me. It was also the one that brought me out of the Dark Age (25+ years)
  13. Yeah, both Target Store at Eagle Rock Plaza and Glendale Galleria sucks when it comes to Clearance/Sales on Legos.
  14. Mine was 6521-1: Emergency Repair Truck
  15. As a kid during the 80's, I was really fascinated by legos. I am from a rural town in the Philippines. There is this one small shop there that sells a limited number of imported toys. I was hooked on G.I Joes and Legos. I remember I started with set 6521 and ended up with sets 6641, 6693, 6677, 6023, 6827 and 1472. Ah, those were the days. I am almost 40 years of age and a father to a 4 year old whose hooked on Duplos. We have the Merlin Pass for Legoland and each trip to the park in Carlsbad ends at the "The Big Store". I was tempted a number of times to buy a set or two for myself but I refused to give in. Everything changed when we checked-in at the Legoland Hotel, we found 2 mixels inside the treasure chest in our Pirate Room. Now I am hooked to legos like a crack addict.
