I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't show any new sets at Brickfest this year. I was hoping they'd show the new Star Wars sets. But that's good news about the Vikings :D

Review: 4768 Harry Potter - Durmstrang Ship - Picture
sam89 replied to MattZitron's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nice review so far. I like the figs. I was also suprised how wide it was when I saw it on display. -
Very nice model! I love the pole and the opening door to see it. The beds, kitchen, showers and other rooms are all nice and detailed. I like the cafe section with the hanging glasses and coffee machine. The TV is very cleverly made too. Overall, probably the best Fire Station I've seen.

I saw the Durmstrang Ship at the Lego Store in Bluewater. I didn't buy it, but they had it on display and it looks quite impressive.

I just edited the front page, as only the Durmstrang ship is available at the moment.

PHOTO REVIEW: Steel Sprinter & Urban Avenger

I quite like these sets, although it's a shame that the European versions will lose both of the guns. -
PHOTO REVIEW: 7476 Iron Predator vs. T-Rex
sam89 replied to The Middleman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the reviews once again. It looks like qite a nice set to me, although the European version will lose the big gun. I like some of the stickers (although I wish they were printed), and I actually quite like the dinosaur. I probably won't get it though, the set I'm most likely to get is the Fire Hammer. -
Legofan.org have posted a poll to vote for what you would like the a new UCS set to be. You have to register to vote. The choices are an AT-ST, an B-wing, Anakin's Episode III Jedi Starfighter, Obi-wan's Episode II Jedi Starfighter (although they wrote Anakin's), Darth Vader's TIE and Boba Fett's Slave 1. I voted for the AT-ST.

I thought it was only available in the North America in August, and everyone else has to wait until next year? Here's the quote from the European sites: And here's the quote from the American site:

That's an amazing deal. If I had room for an airport I might have bought it ;)

Why do LEGO toys have value to you? I love the fact that you can build anything out of them. I especially like seeing things I recognise (such as Star Wars ships) made out of the bricks, which are of very high quality. What makes LEGO brand construction toys worth your money? I mainly buy Star Wars sets, and i spend so much money on them because, as I said above, I love to see my favourite vehicles and characters made out Lego. I also buy other non-SW sets that I really like the look of, such as the Enxo Ferrari. In what way has the LEGO brand let you down? I have no problem with most of the things that have let other people down (new greys, light-up lightsabers, flesh tones). The only thing I don't like about Lego are stickers. I think they're only necessary when they cover ore than one piece, and could be printed in most cases. Recently, how has the LEGO brand improved? Lego's sets have gotten really good this year. Their designs are very good, and there has started to be an increase in minifigures in sets. Their prices in Europe ae muh lower this year as well, which has been my main complaint about Lego before. What would you like to see LEGO (re)introduce in the next three years? I would like a continuation of the Vikings theme, as well as other historical sets such as Greeks and Romans. What does LEGO need to do to sell more products for less cost to them? I'm not really sure what could be done. I suppose not making too many new pieces (although specific Star Wars molds would be useful) would help. I have nothing against new molds in general though, such as with the new Vikings and DINO sets. I also think smaller boxes would help. What reason(s) do you have for not buying new LEGO sets? The only thing that stops me buying new sets is the price, although as I have mentioned above, this is not much of a problem any more. What would it take for you to spend more money on new LEGO products versus buying sets/parts on the second hand markets? Well I don't buy many parts since I'm not much of a MOCer, but I think lower prices (although they are lower this year) would be the only thing that would make me buy more. What will it take for LEGO to remain the best construction toy for all ages and be a profitable company? I think if Lego keeps coming up with original ideas and themes, and continues the themes that are doing well it will remain the best construction toy. What are your home country, first name and age? England, Sam, 15 Is there anything you would like to say with this last question that you feel someone at LEGO should not go without reading? Keep making good quality products with good designs.

Images of Dino's European version !!!
sam89 replied to The Middleman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The European sets seem to be set in the jungle instead of the city for some reason *wacko* -
I think they meant from Episodes III-VI.

I don't think we'll be seeing the Arena beasts or the Solar Sail as sets. he sets shown off at Legoland were supposed to be abandoned concepts, sets they were planning to make but were cancelled later on. Also, I've heard that they won't be making any more Episode I or II sets.

Images of Dino's European version !!!
sam89 replied to The Middleman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I quite like them. They don't look too different, and the chains and cages are quite good. The only bad thing I can see is that the Helicopter is mising all of its guns, they were my favourite thing about the set. It's interesting that they've changed the name to "DINO 2010" though. -

Yes, I posted this on the front page ;) Just incase you don't know yet, these sets won't have any weapons. Here's a picture of a supposed European version of the tank set (it has a different set number): http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery....y.cgi?i=1252470 -
If we've heard anything about upcoming sets, it'll be in the front page or in the forums. There is supposed to be some remote controlled trains coming out sometime next year however, incase you haven't heard.

PHOTO REVIEWS: Dino Attack (7475/7477)

He's referring to this pic, which seems to be of the European version of the set. It has a different set number, no guns, and a cage instead. -
Images of Dino's European version !!!
sam89 replied to The Middleman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It might just be a prototype since it's in the same folder as the Viking ship, but it's most likely the European version, since I can't see any weapons on it. EDIT: It can't be a prototype since it's got a new number, so yes, this will be the European version. -
The beards and swords are cool, and the serpant is good as well (although I'm not sure I like it as much as the one we've got now). I don't like the ship itself as much though. You can also see a prototype DINO Attack set in that folder. It's pretty much the same except it's got a cage to put the dino in.
