  1. Roy is in Peach's castle! That Bowser train is supposed to be the biggest retail (non D2C) set of the whole series right? I don't know. It looks fine but not that much bigger than previous castle sets as I had hoped. The sets look pretty good to me.
  2. That's a good question. I haven't read into Marinet's retirement other than what most online news articles are reporting. Is he stepping down as of this moment? Was his cameo in The Super Mario Bros. Movie his last work? Maybe the folks at Lego have been in the know of this - but then again - maybe not. It will be interesting to see what - if anything - changes later this year when the new wave of sets rolls around.
  3. You're right. I had expected them to be the same pieces used in Bowser's Airship but later read about these rarely used pieces on Brickset. That's also where I saw the lifestyle image where you can see a not so camera friendly angle of the cannons. It looks very toyish...
  4. Good looking set. Will be nice to see how it pairs up with the big Bowser's Airship set from before. Nice to see Larry make a reappearance since the set he came in first is now discontinued. Not a big fan of Morton's design though. He needs to be girthier than the other Koopa Kids of course but I think they may have overdone it? Also those color locked arm joints... Like 71391 Bowser's Airship it has a transformative feature where Morton's Airship opens up to reveal a (granted: small and minimal) boss room! I don't like how they skimped out on providing 2x2 black circle tiles to put inside the canons so they appear to have depth - like they DID do in 71391... Also nice to get another Pirate Goomba. Now there are two of them! A great set that I plan on getting. My fave of this new wave. And that's saying something as a pretty big DK fan. Here's hoping there will be one final wave for January 2024 with Roy Koopa. I'll gladly fork down another 100 for one of those Koopa tanks made from wooden logs with the big cannons all over!
  5. There have been white snow platforms in: 71360 Adventures with Mario Starter Course (as part of the floaty cloud thing) 71384 Penguin Mario Power-Up Pack (appropriatedly used as a snowy biome) 71388 Boss Sumo Bro Topple Tower Expansion Set (as the outer rim of Sumo Bro's shell) I feel pretty confident we'll see the snow biome again next year. With updates to our digital Mario and Luigi figures so they'll read when they're on ice. We can't have the baby penguin without its mama, right?
  6. Pretty cool new wave. Wasn't expecting the Luigi's Mansion stuff. But it's kind of nice that it's there and if you don't care for it you have these other sets in the same wave. A theme within a theme. Really liking some of those characters from the packs more than previous waves. The only thing I'd like to point out is how we haven't gotten a second Koopaling in over a year now! I thaught they'd give us 1 or 2 in every wave so you could collect all over time. But it feels like they really want to stretch them out over the course of the line. But if it keeps going on like this with some fun surprises here and there - I'm all for it. Hooray for another awesome wave!
  7. A regular release of the Y-wing is still possible. The Ghost was first released as an exclusive Microfighter at comic cons in 2014 but it also got a regular release this year.
  8. That looks pretty good actually. The head comes from a Lone Ranger goon named Barret and the body is an older Obi-Wan design.
  9. The blimp made it's first appearance in the intro of last weeks's episode. It's coming!
