  1. That's fantastic to see, thank you for uploading this!! If you take a look at the instructions I've placed pairs of wheels under bogie plates (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=4025#T=C) and then built the base of the passenger car up with plates that include two 2x6 plates with 5 holes (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=32001&name=Technic, Plate 2 x 6 with 5 Holes&category=[Technic, Plate]#T=C) - being able to spin, it's able to go round corners no problem.
  2. It is me selling them, thanks for considering that :) Here's the link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291917125442?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 @biglesdug I have motorized it, yes! If you have the original train you've probably experienced the skipping problem already so needless to say, because this one's so big, I've attached two motors to it so that it moves smoothly! I can't wait to put it round my Christmas tree.
  3. I love this set, but even before it came out I wanted to add some custom wagons to it to make it longer. Finally my Bricklink orders have come in (apart from glass for the windows, whoops!), and my train is ready for Christmas! I've added five new carriages - a Hot Cocoa Tanker, a Passenger Car, a Present Wagon, a Reindeer Wagon, a Christmas Tree Wagon, and converted the original middle car into a Santa Wagon. The full imgur gallery can be found here - http://imgur.com/a/D135p A bit of a late update too, haha, but I am selling the instructions over on eBay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/mouseketeer111 :)
  4. I took a go at expanding the train! -
  5. The carriage as I've built has 206 pieces, without any interior (seats or lamps). The tree wagon is 111 pieces (plus three trees), and the present wagon is 113 pieces plus the presents. Not sure about the length, but I've already designed two more wagons to add to it, so I might have to look at shortening the present wagon, haha.
  6. I'm one of the people that really love this train. I missed out on the first one, and really like the new design, but I will agree that I wish it was longer. So I decided to try mocking up what the new style of train might look like with the old style size, and this is what I came up with. Because the old train split the Christmas tree and present bin into two trucks, the rotating tree truck (which is essentially tree and presents too) I've flipped in direction and made into a Santa "parade truck", using the big golden armchair from the Santa's Workshop set. The new train stuff below isn't quite built properly - I just rushed it together. I am quite happy with this, although I might have to get Bricklinking in time for Christmas.. and buy two of the train when it's released! I wonder what Lego would have charged for a train this size...
  7. Thank you! Here are the interior photos:
  8. Thanks! I didn't use any extra pieces, although there is one cheat - there isn't a wall on the right side (where the laundromat is), but because I knew I was putting this right by the Emporium, I figured that wouldn't really matter too much.
  9. Here's my modified Brick Bank. I own the Emporium, Palace Cinema, and Detective's Office, so when I got the Brick Bank I knew I needed to 'de-cornerize' one of the buildings, and the Bank seems to have the least need to be on a corner. There's a few things I've changed along the street, like the limo, and I've got a 'Hollywood Walk of Fame' all along the front street if you can make it out in the photo. I am missing a palm tree on the right though (Bricklink here I come!).
  10. Looks great, Andy D! Now I'm off to Bricklink to order another set of lights for along the roof :)
  11. I ended up with two of 40106, so here's the quick and simple addition I did, mirror building one of them, rotating the angle of the roofs, and then adding some spare parts I was able to squeeze into a Pick a Brick bauble. Simple stuff, but I think it makes the whole thing a good size for Santa's home. Tiny gap between the chimney and toy workshop though that I'll need to fill when I get around to it.
