Didn't the joint cracking issues start in 07 with all the lime pieces having about the same life expectancy as fine china falling from a skyscraper? Anyways. I swear I've watched hundreds of these Hitler parodies, but for some reason they never get old.

They might not be hinged, but they're definitely made up of two mirrored parts. You can see how they have a seam on one end of the rotor but not the other.I'm thinking it's two parts with a half-stud connection as well.

My hype levels are through the roof right now. Onua and the Earth Protector look absolutely FANTASTIC. I'm loving the two-toned mask on the Protector, and Onua's shoulder pads/claws/hammer piece. It's got a very Bionicle aesthetic.

We should call it the Reboat. Wasn't Velika planning to blow up Artahka and co. when the serials stopped? Could be he succeeded in either wounding him badly enough that he couldn't prevent somebody taking the mask, or he outright killed him.

Well, at least Onua has Black hands. I do wish there wasn't so much silver on them as well though. At least the Protectors seem to have better variation. The Fire, Earth, and Ice protectors all have elementally coloured hands.

I seem to recall that collectible packs in later years weren't actually known about until soon before they released, so there is still a chance of mask packs. Especially since in the translation of the catalog they mention masks being a central component.

Maybe it's just that growing up with Bionicle has permanently destroyed my sense of proper proportions, but I've never really had a problem with the odd proportions. I'm really liking Pohatu. And these pictures seem to confirm that he's using a burnt orange colour similar to Hewkii. Still wondering why that Guurakh staff (Speaking of which, that's a really odd piece to bring back, out of all the other weapon parts throughout the years. I guess it does look the most spear-like though) is on his back though, it doesn't seem like it's up high enough to work with the gear function, and nothing's protruding out the other side of it, so it can't be a staff. Maybe it's supposed to be a dagger that he uses after he's thrown the boomerangs? I'm also liking the look of Lewa, especially the Miru. I'm not entirely sure what to think about the new Hau. The gold version is at a terrible angle and makes it look terrible, but the red version looks okay. The main difference I see is that the cheek vents are more covered. Don't really have much to say about Gali and Kopaka, though Kopaka does look odd being that bulky. LOSS looks interesting, but I'm still not seeing where his comparatively ridiculous piece count is coming from. Unless he has an anti rely liftarm built function or something. Also it's looking like all the Toa have a custom gearbox piece.

What were your First and Last BIONICLE G1 Sets?
Element Lord of Milk replied to TheBrickPal's topic in LEGO Action Figures
First was Maku Mctoran, last was a second Tahu Stars that I bought to wear the golden armour. -
If the Mahri do return as sets in a continuation, they should get a new 6th member. Kopeks might work to fit the Ice Toa slot, but I think Takanuva would work better as he has a history with the Mahri and he would still fill the white colour slot. Also, speaking of Toa incarnations, I find it interesting that every Toa team has had at least 3 set appearances (Though not necessarily 3 forms as Toa) The only exceptions are Pohatu, Lewa, Jaller, Matoro, and Hewkii, who all had 4 incarnations.

Why now though? They reached a settlement back then and they were still able to use Toa. Also they're still using Kopaka as a name, and that's also a Maori word, so why would they drop Toa and not Kopaka if that were the reason?I think it's far more likely that the sets are only called Masters for marketing purposes (People know what "Master of" means, not so much "Toa of") and that they'll still be called Toa in the story. Later Toa sets did use Toa on the packaging, but the original Toa Mata did not. I bet Lego is being very careful about the accessibility issue, seeing as how that was the reason the line was cancelled in the first place.

Speaking of Jaller dying, I think 2004 deserves a mention in the "when Bionicle got dark" debate. There was Lhikan dying (Really dying unlike Jaller the previous year) , Nidhiki, Krekka, and Nivawk getting eaten by Teridax, the Toa Metru being wrongfully accused of Lhikan's kidnapping and hunted by their government, and Krekka and Nidhiki repeatedly threatening Matoran with death.

Petition to change the name of Gunmetal to Fun metal! Also, speaking of skull spiders, has anyone else noticed that there seems to be what looks like a button on the forehead of the skull part? Adding that to the obvious gear functions of the Toa, maybe there'll be a new version of the 01-03 "game" with the knocking off of Skull Spiders possessing allies in place of the knocking off of regular masks?

Lewa has friction joints in his hips.Speaking of Lewa, I took another look at the picture of him and it looks like his shoulders are actually raised a bit above the torso balljoints.

We first saw Lewa after he had been to Le-Koro, right? Maybe he just took to it really quickly.

I have a soft spot for Takanuva 08. I think because, apart from the lower legs, he just looks so cohesive and expressive. Toa Mata Nui, despite using a lot of the same techniques, just didn't do it for me as much. The legs were way too bulky compared to the arms and I always thought the torso was too tall and too sparsely armoured, though I did love his leg support design. A close second would be the 06 titans though, all three of the main ones were fantastic. (And Brutaka also looks very cohesive, Axonn a little less so)
