  1. I checked out the lego.com site but no info on a fix. It was interesting to note that the version available to download is 4.3.6 not 4,3,8 which I already had installed. I installed the older version but this didn't fix the problem. The pallet file is still missing and i have no back up.
  2. Thanks for all the suggestions, i think there must be an issue with the lego servers as there hasn't been an update to cause this. To force it into offline mode you can run in safe mode, i can't remember how to find this on win7 (why did they remove the start button)
  3. What a cool idea having a "testing ground". So many other forums I have visited just get so uptight about people not having the skills to use the basic features, when what they should be doing is giving new members and inexperienced people the opporunity to try stuff, see if it works and get feedback IF they do it wrong. By the way, some of you may know me already as I've been posting in the Eurobrick pool on Flickr for years but never got around to joining the website. You might also know me by my various other accounts on Deviantart, Brickshelf, MOCpages and Legoideas. I normally go by either Pittstop, Tempest, Andros or in the real world Steven.
  4. working gears has always been a pain in LDD, they just don't seem to mesh. I've tried just about everything to make some of my designs work and so far it's like banging my head against a wall. I just assumed LDD wasn't able to do it. I'll need to take another crack at it.
