    I was half expecting Lamborghini to be in this year’s line up. A Diablo GT1 and Huracan GT3 racing double pack would be perfect! I wouldn’t expect a VW WRC car since they pulled out but I wouldn’t say no to a Polo WRX car especially with Kristofferson winning the world title last year.

    I’ve finished building the 488 GTE from the Ultimate Garage set and done some comparison shots against the old 458. So many new details and techniques on the new GTE! A massive improvement but a complete sticker fest. The end result is effective though. https://flickr.com/photos/162890685@N07/sets/72157693898619205 I absolutely agree. I was really happy that the Ferrari F1 car from the last wave came with the option of making both cars. Really wish this was common practice with other Speed Champions sets.

    The real car is also a mess colour-wise. So many different sponsors colours and influences all crammed onto the car. I’ve not liked the WEC AF Corse livery for a few years now.

    Finished off building the WRC Fiesta. Overall I think it looks fairly good. I think it’s hard for Lego to completely get the shape at this scale. I also took some photos with only the light stickers applied.     I’ve just managed to pick up the fiesta WRC. I can upload some images of that tonight if anyone is interested? I know there’s already been an in depth review of this on brickset though...

    I love the side profiles of the new Speed champions! The new RSR in particular really matches the real life version. I love the shape of the rear end. Im going to upload pictures of the green 930 tonight if anyone is interested? I then plan to do a Ferrari GTE/GT3 comparison using the original GT2 and the two new ones. I just need to source the sets first!

    Here’s a Flikr album with some comparison shots for you all. For me new the cars look best on the side profile and on the rear end of the 911 RSR. I would also say the aerodynamic details of the new 919 is night and day compared to the older version. I wouldn’t say they’re quite as solid but they’re not exactly flimsy either.     The new cars (that I’ve got so far) are so much better than the wave 1 cars. Don’t get me wrong the first wave are still great but the newest Porsche sets have taken it to another level for me. I’ll see what I can get sorted tonight in regards to some comparison shots.

    I managed to get the 919 and 911 sets yesterday, both are fantastic! What really struck me is how much better the new versions of the cars are compared to the previous. The shapes are so much better and the building techniques so much more varied! I’ll upload some comparison shots tonight if anybody is interested?

    That's disappointing. I assumed the stickers would be clear like the Mercedes AMG and Bugatti. Looks like I'm stuck with the terrible green used in the set then.

    I was wondering if you guys could give me your opinions on the Mercedes F1 set? I bought it last week but haven't built it yet and was wondering if I should part the green out for Sand green instead? Being colour-blind I'm not sure if that's a better match or not? All I know is the green currently in the set just isn't right. Thanks.

    I'm in the UK, I got the Ford GT set from Asda Click and collect and the Mercedes GT3 from Tesco click and collect. I built the Ford last night and I would say it's probably my equal favourite Speed champions set alongside the 919 pit lane from last year.
