Atom, Zatanna, Samurai, Dr. Fate, Red Tornado would alll be great options for the book minifigure.

The lack of leg printing is definitely a disappointment, especially with all the progress it feels like Lego has made with leg deco. I understand trying to hit a certain price point by excluding it (maybe they feel those set prices are sweet spots for DC (non-Batman or Lego Batman movie-themed items), but these feel like massive missed opportunities. Another Flash without dual-molded legs? A new Reverse Flash without dual-molded legs? Also, why do another Luthor mech and an irrelevant Cyborg copter/Frost car instead of other iconic items from the DC universe?

Tough call. The Croc set builds are slightly more intricate. I really like the Scarecrow set, though. I think it's partially inspired by a 1985 Super Powers Team (Super Friends show) that recounted Batman's origins (first time shown in a medium outside of comics). Tough to prove, and certainly Blue Beetle and Killer Moth weren't included, but the vibe and color of the Batcopter definitely match the Super Friends aesthetic (and the copter makes an appearance in the episode). I'd love to find out if that was a design influence for the set. Fun, nostalgic angle.

I think both sets are great. Builds are fun. Figures are nice. Zero regrets.

Why doesn't DC superheroes have it's own major theme, with all the subcategories underneath it (just like the Star Wars thread)? That's how well-structured forums ten to operate. That's not a criticism of this one; the DC topics have expanded to the point where it seems necessary.

Is the Feb. 17th VIP early access for the Batcave only available online, or can you purchase it early at Lego stores, as well?

Target DPCI # for Batboat: 204001105

Also, does that last image contains Batman's new boot printing? Looks like it black legs with gray printing on the front and sides...

After weeks of seeing mostly inane comments, I feel compelled to say something: This may be the worst, most immature forum I've ever witnessed. Outside of credible comments by one quality source, just2good, it is mostly filled with bickering, whining about minutiae, and pointless speculation - as opposed to actually getting momentum behind things we all want to see from Lego in the future. The craziness is primarily the work of 3-4 individuals (2 of them are featured above). I will be participating much less going forward, and hope that the level of maturity in here will improve at least slightly over the next few weeks and months. And yes, I understand the irony of hoping for maturity when we're talking about adults discussing blocks...

The difference: Marvel's properties have movie support, which traditionally drive a substantial amount of sales. As DC's movie schedule ramps up, it will likely even out.

Has anyone yet reported the Target DCPI numbers for the sets?

We get it. Some people don't like the capes. You can use capes from previous figures or buy capes from third parties online if you don't like the new versions. Here's a suggestion: Send your suggestions to Lego on new types of fabric to use in the future that preserves the neck line. Move along.
