  1. there is a guy in Boston selling a huge collection. Sandcrawler and Sailbarge are a part of it. Check Boston Craigslist.
  2. Great little scene. I would repurpose it and make the Darth Vader scene on the Tantive IV. I know the pains of finding hair or dust in a picture after you have shot it. But other than that great scene. Was there another source of light behind you when you shot this?
  3. The body and Storm trooper helmet are the official TLG parts. Since I dont have a chrome or silver EpIII clone trooper, I figured my Chrome Stormtrooper would be good enough. The slit is actually supposed to be there. If you look at a real EPIII Lego Clone Trooper helmet you will see that they have a slit as well. So that the black head show thru and creates the black effect. A sterling silver Stormtrooper helmet would not work since there would not be any printing. I have only gotten into Lego last fall. So it is new to me haha.
  4. I found this on fineclonier's website. I havent seen or heard of this before. So I ordered one. Pictures cannot convey weight but it really is metal and according to Fine Clonier, it is sterling silver.
  5. Wow Linko, just like your SW pictures, these are great. Here are some zombie pics. I was concentrating more on the story element than lighting. Zombies break into the house. The woman is scared. A friend comes to the rescue!!! But she is too late. Here is a small scene from Shaun of the Dead. "There is a girl in the garden" They try to throw records but it doesnt work. So they bring out the tools.
  6. I concur. Great use of that orangey red bkg. looks great and nice clean tack sharp macro.
  7. Yes the Sarlacc itself looks great. But the tiled pit just looks too much like amphitheater seating haha.
  8. Im thinking it will be an upside down cone but with a cylinder printed with the orange sensors or eyes.
  9. I love the mythbusters so fantastic job. My only suggestion would be to get the Lego beret for Jamie. You can get one from the Collectible Minifig Mime.
  10. Has no one bought the Harry Potter Dictionary yet? I saw it like two weeks ago at TRU but didnt get it. Im waiting for the new SW book.
  11. Scorpiox, I cant say if the build it good or not. However your photography really needs work. The angles you have chosen are orthographic. Side, top, front views are very vague. Try a higher angle other than just straight on and rotate the model a few degrees. Usually this is referred to as a 3/4 shot. It will provide the viewer with more information and not have to mentally piece two pictures together to get a 3/4 shot and will help make your model more readable. Also try to use a larger piece of paper. You really only need one. Anything will do. Gift Wrapping paper, just unroll it and flip it over to the white side. Go to an art store and pick up a $2 piece of cardboard. You can even use an old poster. I assume you are using a digital camera? Or cellphone? The beauty of digital phototaking is instant results. If you take a picture and it is blurry, take it again. Try to set the focus correctly. If you are using a cellphone then adjusting the focus gets difficult and usually they dont focus well when you get too close.
  12. No worries then. As long as the officals say its ok!!! haha good luck. I too like the vulture droid aspect. Can the wings "walk" like a vulture droid?
  13. How is this apart of the contest? The contest is for Jedi, Sith and Bounty Hunter. sadly Grievous does not fit into any of those categories. He is a General of the Droid Army. Not Sith. True he uses a lightsaber but so does Gran Pre Vizla of Death Watch. But a light saber does not a jedi nor sith make.
  14. Yeah. I saw that when removing some dust via photoshop. Sadly sometimes in a photoshoot I get so focused on composition and lighting that I dont see those minor details.
  15. YES!!!! See what I mean? Your previous shots were good. But the snow trooper shot just looked odd in terms of the color temp of the lighting and not in the style of a smokebelch picture. But after you went back and re-shot it, that is a FANTASTIC picture. A true photographer always tries to hone his or her craft. There is always something that they can improve on, learn from, or be inspired to try something new. Good for you Brick Doctor. Keep it up and keep trying new approaches. Even if they arent as great as others. You have to get thru less than spectacular pics to move onto the better ones. The Stormtrooper pic is very interesting underlighting. I actually thought it was a negative. But then I saw the chest and realized it is a black stormtrooper. Very cool. Bring it on!!!! haha one small critique I have is your watermark. I cant think of how to fix it but the light blue L shape distracts me. I think it should be off to the other corner. For some reason, the stormtrooper looks like it has a black rectangle covering the bottom left corner and part of the arm. But that is a trick of the way the shadow is casted on the arm.
  16. Ok so I unlocked Dancing Jack Sparrow. You apparently need a code VDJSPW to unlock him. The blacked out circled characters to the left of him are just the custom characters. However I am still missing two "locked" characters. I read on a walkthru guide that you can unlock the bird and monkey as playable characters? However I have yet to see proof. Any thoughts as to who I am missing? I have bought all the people I came across.
  17. How did you get 100%? I am playing on PS3. I am at 99.6%. I have all the ships in a bottles, red hats, true pirate, gold bricks, and compass. I am missing a few characters though and have no idea how to unlock the missing few. I even got the Gold trophy "Hoist the Colors" I also unlocked and finished "The Ride" secret level. Any ideas what im missing?
  18. The lights are a very nice feature. Is that through the use of light bricks or something else? I like the pizza storage in the back of the pod racer.
  19. Ok so I asked my old co-worker about S8mm. Generally it was shot at 18fps. Some newer S8mm with sound may have been shot in 24 but very rarely is it found in 24fps.
  20. Very interesting alternate build by using 3 BP sets.
  21. Wow you knocked that out of the park!!! Please share a how to so i can build one myself. I never really liked the CTT but your version is making me want to get one and mod it to at least be R/C.
  22. Yes very interesting design. Doesnt feel like Starwars but it does feel like something from a classic space lego series.
  23. Yes. I understand the simple basics of how film is advanced in a projector. However Super 8 film was not shot at 24 fps. When working at Debenham Media Group, the colorists/transfer technicians would use their personal preference when selecting what speed FPS to transfer the film. It is really a personal preference. Most people who shot S8mm film would had to have selected the frame rate at the time of shooting. Which makes things difficult when transfering since most people who transfer usually inherited the film or forgot what it was shot at. My co-workers would choose between 16-18 fps for some film. The only true way to know is if the person shot the film and specifically requests the frame rate. But 8mm, S8mm and 16mm were shot at various different frame rates. But most of the time not at 24 fps. people will choose a slower frame rate also to save on film and make their 50ft rolls last longer. Anything longer was spliced from 50 ft rolls of film.
