Somewhat impressed with Boris' ingenuity, he lets out a groan to the failure. "We might as well yank the door out. I'm sure we all can do it if we combine our strength." Addok-Zo grips the bars and begins pulling it.

What is the estimate for AG2 to start, if there is one?
-
"If you can't get him out, we'll have to come back for him. Surely one of the guards has they key."
-
"Boris, think you can use that club to knock that torch down? If we get it, we might be able to melt the chains off him... or find some other uses for the fire." Addok-Zo suggests before moving towards the skeleton seeing if the the bones could be of any use.
-
Addok-Zo laughs, a deep bellowing sort of laugh, as he realizes Boris is very right. He thinks to himself, what a waste or gold to invest on a jail cell if you rarely take prisoners. "They are very valuable stones..." he sarcastically remarks.

The smell of Grogmas is in the air! I will be making a large list sometime over the weekend for just about every player, no matter if I played with you or not.

Addok-Zo helps looking for something drinkable within the cell. "You don't look too good... how long have you been here?" He then grips onto the bars of the cell, testing to see how sturdy they are.
-
"Well, look what we got ourselves into..." Addok-Zo begins to scavenge around for anything of potential use and looking for some sort of animal within the area.

Just wanted to put my two cents about the Fields of Glory - my thought is why not level-lock certain areas? For instance, the Easy Zones are intended for players between say Level 1 and Level 15. New players do not have to sit idle in the hall waiting for a quest to pop up with the hopes of being selected. The only thing is balancing the fields in a way that they should not be able to grind the rewards or to change them. I feel that players will get a taste of how the game is played since the fields are intended to just fight enemies, not to actually complete a quest.

Hahaha! In all seriousness, I believe other members might be turned off from joining because of the level gap though. Since most players are pretty high levels, it seems like the new guys will just get little attention therefor have little incentive to join. It is all up to the council but yeah, that would be pretty cool. Just not sure how exactly that will work, especially since not all players are affiliated with one of the factions. Honestly though, it seems like the factions serve little use or are just underutilized. Attracting new players to Heroica is not going to be an easy task to accomplish. If you look at the other communities here on Eurobricks, such as AG or Historica, members seem to be motivated by their own stories and builds. However, I can see potential with attracting new players from AG as the game system is similar to Heroica in some ways such as the involvement of teamwork and development of characters through accomplishing tasks. Again, it may be difficult since there are players who are dedicated to just one of the communities or might not enjoy the Fantasy setting at all. But yes, advertising the game more would definitely bring more attention to Heroica. I do wonder if a survey can be done to see what other users, not players, think about Heroica and what compels them to join or not. Even if we can answer any questions or concerns they have they might feel more compelled to join.

I agree with @Kintobor but I also think that there should be a whole new game, so-to-speak, after the main plot ends with a whole new story taking place some place after the conclusion. This would allow for a new influx of new players and everyone would start off at the same playing field rather than having a large level gap there is now. There could be an advertisement on the main page for when the sequel starts.

Addok-Zo looks around at all the bandits surrounding them, making note of where they are. Although not very skilled at making successful threats, he attempts to do so. "If you have any sense, you and your goons turn around and walk away. You don't need to die today, not over a few bottles of wine. If you fail to comply, I personally will drain all fluids from each and every one of you, slowly, as you feel yourself spill away until you are nothing but a pathetic husk." He turns to the party and whispers. "We mustn't give them the cargo. They are bandits, they have no honor, I would know."

@mccoyed, I completely agree with your points regarding the development of Aliens. Though I really have not participated all that much here, I would like to come back for AG2 developing lore for my own Alien species I intend to establish, as should other players. To me, it is more of a creative freedom but it also establishes them as believable entities within the game rather than just being spawned from nowhere with shaky agendas. The outcome for AG1 should most definitely affect how AG2 will pick up on. Mccoyed presents a really good idea with how the other two corporations disband into smaller factions alongside newly developed factions. As much as I like the idea, there just does not seem to be enough people to support the variety of factions, like others have addressed before. Of course, the other two factions could disband, or be destroyed by Octan, forming new factions entirely with new or similar agendas. Just a thought, it would not seem very plausible that the losing corporations remain with the "oh, better luck next time" thought. As for tags, I do agree that they should no longer be used. I completely agree that it does take away from creative freedoms and story-telling... to an extent. Since I really was not part of AG1 for most of the game, I really cannot give the best feedback on this topic. I think that scoring should be judged on story-telling and building rather than just a small build fulfilling an action just to get a high score. Furthermore, I think that the jobs category for players should be smaller. For example, I do not think that "Driver" and "Pilot" should be their own jobs because, in a setting like AG, every player should possess such abilities. Specific jobs like being a Pirate, Soldier, Scientist, or Engineer should be legitimate character jobs as they focus on a keen set of skills. As characters progress, they should be able to choose set of skills to learn via a leveling system or a scoreboard of sorts.

All hail the wise council! Wonder what their decisions will be in terms of Heroica's future.

Since Red and Green are taken, primarily for MANTIS and Kawashita, I think Blue would make for a nice contrasting color since it is not in use. Even Octan uses Red and Green! Another thing I just thought of regarding the Alien faction - if they are to be considered one faction but with a lot of diversity, how will it be represented as a whole? Basically, what will the emblem be (if there is to be one) and what would the faction be called? Just me two-cents here, I believe either "Hub," "Coalition," or "Confederacy" should be present in the name to signify that it is a collective of many different Aliens. For example, "United Coalition of Andromeda" or "The Andromeda Confederacy." Since MANTIS has the Training Camp and Kawashita has the Dojo, this Alien faction should have the Hub.

I personally like the idea of Aliens being a separate faction, basically like a "corporation" but not entirely, simply because it allows for players to develop their own Alien race and establish them with a significant role rather than them being viewed as a mosquito - not necessarily dangerous but more of a pest. Perhaps they could by like a Coalition or a Confederacy united to end Corporate imperialism. That is my thought on that. But I do think it would be cool to see a new a new faction utilizing the color Blue. Why Blue? Really no special reason. Not sure what their ideology would be... maybe space politicians seeking dominance through policies and democracy?

OoC: Sorry, I am really busy as of lately, I will just go along with your attack idea. Addok-Zo shoots the Cavespider Youngling Mob B with his Handcannon from the Back Row.

Although I really have not been a part of this community, I am glad to hear that major tweaks will be enacted when the first game ends. It especially brings me joy to see that Aliens will play a larger role. Since I really have not played much, the changes I see from both @Bob De Quatre and @Boxerlego are really good ideas. Personally, I would like to see: Events: Perhaps corporations, including the Aliens, can get the opportunity to earn double resources or credits by eliminating some sort of threat or completing some sort of special objective. Planets: Hostile Planets - the terrain and wildlife might prove deadlier than expected. Perhaps some sort of technology must be acquired before actually building on a planet (this could reduce over-expansion and encourage building on "earlier" planets). Personal Equipment: Either more equipment for Aliens or they are compatible with all factions. Equipment Upgrade System - perhaps certain equipment can be upgraded at this new Black Market for either credits, resources, or both. Equipment can only be upgraded twice. Standard equipment gives a x1 bonus for resources or credits. Enhanced equipment gives a x2 bonus for resources or credits. And Superior equipment gives a x3 bonus for resources or credits. Equipping Personal Equipment - rather than everything being used by a player, maybe they should be limited to what they can use at a given time. Aliens: Different Factions or Alliances - @robuko sums it up pretty well. There should be a variety within the Aliens faction each with different ideology and agendas. This also applies with Alien races but that is obvious. There could be Aliens who are greedy but with good intentions rather than the "destroy all humans" type of Aliens (reference was implied). Each race should select/be given a home planet. Those are some ideas I had in mind. I want to come back once the new game starts to do some... Alien business.

Odd is certainly one way to put it, especially considering the game you built from scratch grew and thrived for five years. It is really amazing that you accomplished that and in a blink of an eye, it sucks to see you go. I wish the best for you. With your passion and creative expertise, I hope you accomplish much greater things. I will be gone soon enough to pursue a military career. I really am curious to see what comes next. Hopefully someone takes the reigns and continues the game but I guess now it is ultimately up to Dragonator.

Looking at the glass bottles, Addok tries to identify them. "What are in these glass bottles? You never informed us of these items."
