  1. Hi :) and welcome!
  2. I love Fabuland Which sets do you all have? I have sets 3625, 3631, 3633, 3644, 3645, 3646, 3659, 3660, 3664, 3668, 3671, 3673, 3709, 3719, 3792, 3792. Probably I forgot some. I will make a picture of my collection
  3. Fabuland should definitely come back! I think they are fantastic sets for 5/6 years olds. The figures spark a lot of inspiration for creativity and storytelling.
  4. Hi all :), I hope it is OK to open a topic to show my City-sets. They are small and there not much sets, but they are nice sets and builds tough. My favorite is the TV-crew The Lego-set numbers are: 6504, 6506, 6523, 6613, 6634, 6643, 6659, 6827
  5. While I understand that Greenpeace wants toy companies to be greener, but to be honest: I think Lego is one of the most 'recycled' toys in the world. Lego stuff always get's a new owner with garage sales or otherwise on the secondhand market. I don't see that with other plastic toys. Or other plastic stuff really.
  6. Thank you for all the nice welcome messages and encouragement I will come out of the dark ages and embrace the bricks!
  7. I see, thank you! Good to know this, before I make some mistakes.
  8. True :D that's why I dubbed it already a wild idea and that it would probably be more fitted to the architecture line ;) A library would be sweet!
  9. Is there a topic/thread/section where you can post pictures of your Lego sets?
  10. Just a wild idea of mine: if the next modular is going to fit the 'government' theme as it is rumoured: they could do Buckingham Palace? You would also have a museum then. Though it wouldn't fit in with the other modulars and would be better placed in Architecture or an other subtheme of Creator.
  11. Thank you for the responses :D a few questions: - the inventory list of those sets on Bricklink: they are complete and have the right parts? - about the gray pieces: I have grey bricks like these (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=805-1) but is that color used in Cafe Corner or Green Grocer? I am confused on how Lego defines dark blue grey/light grey, because in some pictures dark blue grey looks like the grey bricks I have . And what was grey in the '90-ties seems now to be one of the new grey colors Lego has defined. Arrgh!
  12. Hi all! A few days ago I registered myself, but I thought it would be polite to introduce myself ;) I am a 30-something and my first Lego as a kid (aside from some Duplo) was Fabuland . I still have these sets and it is my opinion the best set Lego has ever build for 5/6 years olds. I also have a few City-sets. This is probably familiar for a lot of you, but as a kid I wanted to build houses, police stations and such to create a City, but I never got sets or parts so I could do that. I got always told I had to use my creativity and imagination. Which is true, but HOW can you build houses or police stations if you have no windows or doors ? AArrrgh, childhood trauma . When I was ten I bought some Belville sets that I enjoyed quite much, though the building aspect was quite low in those sets. And though I played a lot with my Lego, it is still in good shape! Nothing damaged/broken and just a few small things lost. My parents always thought me to take care of my toys, and I really appreciate that now So, what has gotten me a little bit interested in Lego again? A few years ago when cleaning out the attic i found the box with my Fabuland-lego. Rebuilded those sets to check if anything was missing or damaged. Then I went checking prices on the secondhand market (that's the correct term, right?) for Fabuland, but I somehow ended up on a site where I saw the Lego Modular buildings. I was in awe how great the Green Grocer, Café Corner and Grand Emporium looked. Safely stored the Fabuland away, but those modulars were 'planted' in my head, if you get what I mean. Last summer I bought the Royal guard minifigure from the Collectable Minifigure series, because of my interest in royalty (still hoping Lego will release a Buckingham Palace set one day..) and last week I rebuild my City-sets to check for damage/missing parts. I found that despite my age I quite liked to do the building: looking for pieces, checking the instructions etc. And there was the idea of buying a Modular building again! I figured it would be a nice thing to do in the evening and to get me away from the computer. However, there is this voice in my head that it is a bit juvenile to do. On the other hand: it's the building I enjoy and I am not looking for playability. I just like the aspect of being busy with my mind and hands. But yeah, here I am: debating to come out of my Dark Age or keep hiding
  13. I want to build Green Grocer and Cafe Corner. Is it still wise getting the pieces via Bricklink? Because the prices for complete sets on market sites like Ebay are insane....
