Oddibossity replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes

Banshee or phantom-thing, or even just a ghost... (I just want there to be a Banshee!) 10. Island-dweller 11. Ancient Roman (in toga) 12. Child (with a toy, possibly a Mischievous Prankster?) 13. Teacher 14. Magician (or magistrix) 15. Tourist (not necessarily Japanese... ) And finally, 16. Hunter/Farmer (someone with a gun, but only to fend off nasty animals and protect the happy rabbits, kittens and doves etc., etc.) -
What's the Biggest and Smallest Lego Piece of All Time?
Oddibossity replied to JCC1004's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Found the biggest! (And the ugliest... This one actually looks like a real ABS-ified burp! ) BURP -
I THINK I know what you mean... I'll find my old catalogue and scan you the page. EDIT: These ones? I think these are the only suction cupped things I've seen from Lego. 20-02-2012 11;14;24 by Unseen Arboritum, on Flickr

What's the Biggest and Smallest Lego Piece of All Time?
Oddibossity replied to JCC1004's topic in General LEGO Discussion
For the smallest amount of materials used, how about the Star Wars Sandtrooper pauldron? EDIT: Or how about a 1x1 tile sticker? -
I have a mod of my own now: the whole connection of the wings using the 6L technic axles is too loose and only allows for more strain on the back end, so I simply replaced them (quite easily, actually) with 3L pins (with friction) and that holds much better. It also means that the wings are almost equally spaced at the front and back when in cruise mode, not sort of jammed together when there should be a gap. I hope that made sense. Basically, 8x 3L friction pins = better than 4x 6L axles.

Nawww. Did you make these in LDD? If so, I'm surprised it allowed the two binoculars to sit next to each other! (Hacker ) I love the sleekness of your helpful clean hous- I mean, house cleaning- robot. It reminds me of Eve from Wall-e. I have fun zipping models like that around the place

How about some actual Make-your-own planets? Brick-built spheres with simple coloured blocks for details... (That was my original interpretation of the Planets theme, and I still think it would work better )

Hi guys, I got my lovely X-Wing yesterday and I LOVE it! My mood was only slightly marred by the (expected, yet still) disappointing lack of storage space for, say, LUKE'S LIGHTSABRE. Has anyone come up with an effective method of storing a Lightsabre (other than shoving it in one of the 1x2 tan bricks with holes which connect the wings and body)? For that matter, are there any other mods you'd like to share? I'm sure we'd all love to see them

Today I found the Droid Escape and X-Wing sets. I built the Droid Escape as soon as I got home, but left the X-Wing, partly because of the gorgeous box and partly because I want to savour the build. I'm now half way through and it's spectacular. The techniques!!! It is like nothing I've seen before! Building upside-down (and officially, too!) is loads of fun and they use loads of really novel techniques. I am very happy. Droid Escape is packed with useful and cool parts that make me forget that the mf printing was slightly off... C-3PO has gained the ability to "roll" his eyes!

It bugged me that such a great (CGI) model was used in LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, and yet the Aragog we saw in 4738- Hagrid's Hut- was pretty pathetic. Obviously it wasn't the main attraction of the set, and yes, it is still an improvement over the last one, but STILL! So I decided to see how well it would work with *real* bricks. Here is my LDD render (complete with Aragog's last meal for comparison in size): LDDScreenShot2 LDDScreenShot1 (2) Atop: LDDScreenShot4 'Neath: LDDScreenShot3 Reference screenshots I took from the game. photo 2 photo 1 You might notice I changed a few aspects, most notably the legs and face. I'm not sure how they got the two droid arms to connect like that, but I'm fairly happy with my solution. I changed the 2x2 slope that his eyes rest on to that weird 4x2 slope/cutout thing because that's the one that Shelob's eyes are printed on and it works much better, methinks. Finally, the legs. Only the four outer legs are on click-hinges, which makes it easier to pose (I hope) because the four inner legs (on regular clip-hinges) should just slide down to the right positions on the ground. Will it work? I don't know, but any comments you feel like dropping in would be most welcome Thanks for viewing! EDIT: Switched the first picture.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Oddibossity replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Mmmmm! Not so many pics of the Fury though... Has anyone been able to decipher what the orange spiky thing is in the Gungan Sub? (An opee egg?) I wonder if the numerous new brick separators will actually be appearing in the sets they're placed next to. Both 9499 and 9515 have one next to their displays. EDIT: Sorry, wrong set number -

America, hurry up and get to today! I've already been out for a swim, had lunch with friends, and then gone out to see TPM in 3D! Eager for what the new day will bring, am I. -
Fancy that! I was there in 2010 as well Shame that you didn't see much green, though. On the section I visited near Beijing there were plants and trees on either side as far as we could see! ...Although, that wasn't very far as there was so much smog lurking in the distance Either way, this is a very nice job! I am proud to say that I own two Johnny Thunder heads myself (as for whether I still own two sets of Johnny Thunder bodies, I cannot comment. ). Glad to see that Aang Is keeping himself busy!

Darn! I had a feeling that would be the case. Oh well, I guess I could have fun trying to recreate them in mis-matched colours ... But Bricklink sounds like a good idea! Let's hope that TLG will eventually change their position on availability and prices in Aus. Thanks guys! -

I've tried searching high and low, but I have never seen any of the tiny polybag "impulse" sets. I am especially interested in the Star Wars ones, and was just wondering if anyone knows how to get hold of them? Thanks! -
Here's mine! Happy Christmas everyone, especially you, CopMike! Christmas on Hoth It was innocent times like this, on the last Hoth Christams before the Empire arrived, that inspired some of Luke Skywalker's daring tactics during the later Battle of Hoth...

Well, my first Star Wars sets were the 6205 and 6206 V-Wing and TIE Interceptor. Funny to think that they are actually in order... I'm using the box picture because Brickset's image is actually wrong... Just like in the catalogues. It's interesting how many discrepancies there are even between the "official" pictures sometimes

Well, yes actually. I was a winner around mid-last year and I won the (AUD) $100 set Anakin's Y-Wing starfighter, which I was pretty stoked about I was getting more than a little dubious though as there was some sort of problem where it just didn't get sent for several weeks... Never quite found out what happened, but with a little forceful reminding after their 'should be sent by' period had expired, it all worked out fine.

LEGO Star Wars: The Padawan Menace TV Special
Oddibossity replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I agree wholeheartedly. I was given the DVD for my birthday and we all immensely enjoyed watching it. I loved all the in-jokes and all those fantastic rebuilding moments only achievable with Lego. Ackbar's final line was absolutely golden! Shame only one other person understood it, though. Good job, Lego! -
I reckon this is a fantastic idea! Even if the figures wouldn't fit in with regular LEGO minifigs, the Daleks would undoubtedly work perfectly! Figures list All sets They're all just so cute! EDIT: Oops. I messed up the links...

Well, I've already posted this in another thread, but since this is a more 'official' thread, I thought I'd put mine in anyway! The only gripe I have with this is that I know I will never be able to make it exactly as I have designed it. I built it in Universe mode and used many 'cheat' colours on unusual pieces. I also have a sneaking suspicion that some of the pieces (namely the gold supports around the head) will not actually fit properly in real life... Enjoy! So, here is my Dalek Supreme MOC from the last episodes of Doctor Who Series 4. I've only got one picture of this latest version, but the last version (very similar) is fully covered on my flickr stream. Also attached is the LDD file. Enjoy, and please give feedback Supreme Dalek.lxf
