  1. Loving the progress so far. As to the the broadside cannon hatches / demon faces, i just think you're too atached to the vine piece... nothing wrong with that, but it's such a big piece that automatically conditions the use of other parts. Most of the faces are not even "angry", so perhaps you should consider a different approach to them... for instance, i kinda liked the idea used in the Indiana Jones Idol Temple set for the arrow shooting faces on the wall. It allows other possibilities with the eyes (and eyebrows if you manage to include them), the nose, the "beards" aroud the gun port and so on, but it can fit perfectly in the 4 stud space you have available for the hatch. Just a thought, nothing more...
  2. Someone who had the same idea that i did in order to make the cabin bigger and more "playable" The same problems you have with your design, i already had with mine. The sloping rear with the technic pins it's what bugs me the most, for a simple reason... The upper cannon ports need to be in the middle of the lower ones, but the pins simply don't allow that, because they have to be 4 studs separate from each other and they never stay in between the lower cannon ports, as you can se here (the red 1x1 bricks with pin hole show where i needed them to be placed and the grey ones, the only possible location): I use LDD and ocasionaly Mecabricks to have a better idea of what it would be. I noticed that in your design you're trying to do the back panel tilted, as the original ship (that would be amazing!), but i decided to go for the set configuration with the vertical panel... I would love to the have the back panel tilted, but that seems to bring other structural problems that honestly i don't think are worth it, the cabin is already big enough and allows us to add the extra elements such as the bell, the skylight and the small cabinet for the compass (forgot the name). Another thing that i can see now, is that the 4 slope (6x1) pieces are placed in your design 1 stud behind due to your decision of doing the tilted back panel... Just that makes a big difference to the placement of the upper gun ports compared to my design. The cabin itself needs to be quite improved, i saw that you managed to include a window next to the cabin door, i'll try to go a bit further and include the statue in between (that will force me to find a different solution for the door to open), but the stairs was something that i couldn't let go... They were lacking detail and so i used 2x3 plates to make them larger enough for a minifig and tested a hand rail that will connect to the upper deck railing. The stern castle will also be heavily modified in order to make a cabin high enough for a minifig to go through the door... So, yeah, i'm gonna raise it (still don't know how). And... i'll try to adapt the cannon system to the cabin and remove the knobs from the back of the ship to give it a more cleaner look. So much to go, but the fact that i don't have the actual set to test all my ideas, makes it harder to achieve the intended results through Lego design programs.
  3. Exactly what i thought... Sand Green would have been perfect. At least it would be closer to the real deal. The same thing for the "Plant Stem" part in the back panel above the cabin roof... it should have been recoloured in Dark Grey to stand out more in the middle of so many black pieces. So many things that could've been better in this ship... Let's leave it for the MOC's.
  4. Hi, i'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this... But is it possible to change my name here at the forum? We can handle the details by PM.
  5. I could easily spend the entire day saying what's good or not about this set, the amount of details missing, the proportions and so on. For me, the stern is one of my biggest issues... Therefore, let the MOC begin! P.S.: The GWP, although kinda cool, it's an easy pass por me. They could've done the chest of cursed Aztec Gold on top of a small rock island of the Isla De Muerta cave with Pintel and Ragetti... At least it would justify the Pearl's price.
  6. I have some mixed feelings about this set... But i'll wait for more oficial high resolution pictures of the ship before going into details. All i can say, for now, is that for 380$, i kinda expected more of the minifigures selection in terms of details/prints: Jack Sparrow has a very accurate color scheme, skin tone and general details... but they should've used a blue torso piece instead of a white one, almost looks like he's not wearing he's usual vest (the arm pieces just blends with the torso, it doesn't work!). Is the hat a bit too glossy? ; Captain Barbossa... I really expected more of this minifigure. Almost everyone here mentioned the lack of the yellow sash and his pale green (yeah, it's green) bandana and other details. And after that amazing FORTNITE version, i was hoping that TLG would pay some real atention to it because it's simply perfect in every way! But the face... Damn! They ruined the face. What the hell is with that beard design!? Honestly! I can't find the words (i almost feel tempted to use the older version of Barbossa and simply use the new hair/hat piece and surely i'm not the only one tinking of it). I even have my doubts regarding the hair/hat piece... Such a waisted oportunity! Mr. Gibbs it's OK, but my biggest issue with this minifigure (the same thing with Cotton, Will Turner and Anamaria), it's the lack of detail in the leg piece... Is it so hard to print some boots the same way as Jack? Even Sir Isaac Newton minifig had boots! The latest Build a Minifigure pirate version has boots, the Quartermaster Minfigure... By now it should be a rule that Pirate Minifigures should have printed boots... Simple as that! As to Mr. Gibbs, beside the "boot print", the leg piece should be a lighter grey. Mr. Cotton is another example of that lack of atention. He should have a vest print down to the leg piece and have the same "boot print" treatment, although he uses sandals (so, not sure how to solve that, is it possible only to print the feet part?) Marty it's fantastic, a very detailed torso and accurate skin tone... But the same thing with Jack and the vest print, they should've used a torso piece with the same color of the vest instead of a white one. As to the legs, considering they're small and Marty uses sandals, i'm not sure if they could print just the "shoe part"... But i can live without it! Anamaria it's OK... Very diferent from what i was expecting (don't like the video game version). Just the "boot print" treatment and it would've been great. Will Turner is quite cool with that beautifuly detailed pattern in the torso piece. But the "boot print" treatment was required as well, although he uses shoes and light grey "socks" (don't know the exact term) up to his knees. Elizabeth it's fine, the dress pattern looks great, but i'm starting to get tired of the repeated use of Jyn Erso print for the head piece. There was so much to improve and a 380$ set really deserved that extra atention to it. The older sets, the FORTNITE versions, the Video Game... they had it all and frankly, they kinda wasted the oportunity to make it better. Sorry for my english... i've been writing this for almost an hour and without diccionary.
  7. There's something I still don't quite understand... Did Lego announced that it will increase the price of the Black Pearl to 380$...?
  8. I believe that there are some news regarding this topic... https://youtube.com/shorts/QxZMaBXNWQU?si=jKF20ynjHVeZhoVH
  9. It's been finally revealed: For what i can see, lots of new parts, specifically for the locomotive itself. Personally, i like it... it may not be according to the original (in terms of locomotive shape or color), but i'll most definitely buy it.
  10. Brutal André!! Grande atenção aos pormenores, está divinal! A malta da CP ia ficar impressionada… Eh Eh Que bom ver mais um conterrâneo aqui por estas bandas… (Sorry for writing in portuguese, I couldn't resist…)
  11. For a first MOC, not bad... One of mine favourite ships! It need's a few improvements, but with time you will get to it Did you made it in LDD...? I'm curious about the way you made the curvature of the bow
  12. Woooow...!! Those Uncharted minifig's are absolutely amazing...!! Very cool and with a lot of detail's, specially Drake's ring with "Sic Parvis Magna" inscription on it... Great job...!! P.S.: I would submit it on Lego Ideas... Just a thought...
  13. Hi, my LDD has been recently updated but have this weird problem as you can see on the following image... And it's always with the same piece (Hose/Out Cable 8.8mm found at LDD Extend Mode) Does anybody had the same problem? I've already installed the program twice, but it keeps doing that...
  14. Once again... amazing job! The sail are also quite impressive... congratulations!! I could use your help for my project... starting to lose my patience...
