Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
DuckBricks replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
The ninja with the azure mask, I have to say, has an extremely off-putting color scheme. He has a blue mask but a red body.... I wonder what that coud signify. If the character controls both fire and water (which I have to admit is really cool), I may take back my harsh judgement...- 4,591 replies

Yeah, and there is a blue ninja glider vs the Morro Dragon I suspect this wave happens after the video game, with Ronin as no longer the main focus but a recurring character... As he is fighting the ghosts, not ninja, which implies that somewhere along the line he turned good. Perhaps the "greater evil" he is threatening to unleash are the ghosts and he feels guilty?

I meant that the image may be preliminary or just a calendar mistake. Official LEGO calendars have made mistakes before, notably the prototype Atlantis sets making it to the front cover of one of the 2010 calendars, etc...

I wonder if the March promo Tahu mask is blended gold and trans neon orange or plain trans neon orange... I know there were trans neon orange masks released to certain members, but some had a red plastic mold imprint in the center that could easily have been translated into this new blended form...

Honestly this wave is a bit of a let down for me, I understand that they are supposed to be skeleton warriors, and they do get the point across, they just seem so... random. I like the secondary color scheme, but don't like how trans neon orange (or red, whatever that color is--Aanchir probably knows) is shoehorned into all the villains, just to make them "a team..." Not sure what Scorpio's tail does exactly, but I will reserve judgement until I see it in action. If the action feature is cool enough (I envision it snapping down while the two blades snap together), it may have an excuse for being so clunky. But if they wanted such a huge, feature-heavy tail, they easily could have made the set $20 or even $25 to make the rest f the body compensate. I do like Skull Warriors bow, though ;) I don't like how Skull Grinder's puny thighs are so small compared to his armored lower legs... They could have easily remedied this with a shell on the thigh...

Yeah, it's definitely two-toned... Lloyd looks so cool in the DB image, evil or not.

The only one that looks worse than the prelims IMO is the skull villain that fights Ekimu....

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
DuckBricks replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
They're not necessarily most important, they just happen to be the ninja's powers that Sensei found. What??? The master of water is a girl in the TV show, unless this is her son or father...- 4,591 replies

Goldenish? Maybe... I think the designers just haven't made their final decisions on the design.

Neat! I was wondering where the trans orange mask for into all this... Anyway, I had a theory about the MoUP. Perhaps it is shrouded in "evil smoke" because the designers have not yet finalized the design for it... A bit like the Ignika from 2006, where it was a completely different design in VNOLG...

Not Target, but Europe has had them since January 1... so Bricklink or eBay is plausible.
-
If you're talking about UA, those won't be out until late February like Ninjago. However, all of the other winter wave 2015 sets have been widely available since January 1 at the Lego Store, Target, Walmart, and pretty much anywhere that sells LEGO. Oh my, this is fascinating! The boat surely can't float due to the brick-built hull, so... no ideas. Could be a placeholder, could be something else. A new gimmick? A new incentive to buy sets? A new app tie-in? A new light or sound brick, or both combined? I guess we will have to see... Any obvious motors on any of the sets (Well, the Portal Hideout; a motor could be hiding anywhere in that colossal boat)
-
Ha! Although the villages ARE really shaped like Protector masks and armor plates. Coincidence? We will have to see...

The AntiMatter one looks especially cool. After all, it is the biggest set...

Agreed. I liked the animations, but defeating LOSS felt like Kopaka defeating a Kane-Ra in MNOLG, or even shorter. I wanted a bigger, badder boss fight. Oh, well, I guess there's always later on... Ha! This is actually plausible, we've seen baby skull spiders scale vertical cliffs, so why not LOSS?

Those two-toned black and gold weapons are just great! I know LEGo would probably not do this, but if they made those chromed in set form I would be very happy!

Lego Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin (Video game discussion)

First link doesn't work.... -
I liked the temple, but that was abut the only bit of Asian architecture.... Overall, I AM liking the feel of these sets, but I agree they don't feel Ninjago-ish. They're still awesome though!

Now that I'm thinking about it, Rebooted wasn't very "Ninjago-y" as well. This wave holds up better than last year's in terms of keeping to the Ninjago aesthetic...

My thoughts exactly... Halloween theme, eh? Not buying it, where are my Force Ghosts?? ;) But actually, I do agree with this statement, there are so many spooky elements this year! Creepy BIONICLE skull villains, Scooby Doo, CMFs, and now Ninjago.
-
But they can't be THAT far from the actual set... For example, LEGO isn't oing to completely change the build of the Titan Mechs for the actual set...
-
Perhaps the Scooby snacks have app interactivity like Ultra Agents if they are advertised so heavily...
