Bought 7959 Geonosian Starfighter MISB for 26$ no tax knowing it was 39.99$ + tax when it came out I think it was a steal!

@ Fuppylodders Glad you like it! I do not own any previous version of the MTT. I found this comparison pics http://www.flickr.co...N05/14884622352 (not my picture) For me, the new one being smaller is helping because I am starting to run out of space to display my collection. I personally would not display the 2 of them together if I had both. They really don't look good next to each other. I prefer the newest one. Then again, it's just my opinion. @ arc I made this to help people who were hesitating like me because of the droid capacity "problem" so I am glad to hear this. On a side note: The set is is "only" 90$ in the US (where you are from according to your profile). Being 110$+15% tax here in Quebec, I jumped on it when I was in the US because it was "only" 90$ +6% tax. At 90$ you might still be hesitating a little (I think you are used to US price and how good you have it down there compare to the rest of us ) but if it goes on sale (Christmas is coming!!!) you should definitively buy it!

Thanks And it can! You just have to remove the gray piece at the front of the rack ( they are there just for style and are easily removable) I kept them because I display my MTT with the doors so the rack and the droids are visible.

Behold the trade federation MULTI troop transport. this beast can carry 16 battle droids. A core element of the trade federation army, it defeated the mighty silly gungan army led in part by the always capable Jar Jar Binks. It seems they had won the day on Naboo for Dart Sidious and the greedy Viceroy Nut Gunray until they were regulated by a 8 year old boy flying a magnificent yellow starfighter. (I do love the Naboo starfighter) Still it will be remembered as the ship who nearly rid the galaxy of Jar Jar (no small feat) I decided to make this MOD (my first one) after reading multiple reviews (and the forums) complaining about the "only 6 droids" problem. These review made me hesitated before buying this set but I finally did buy it because I needed a MTT for my Trade Federation army and also for the minifigs. (ep 1 Obi wan & Qui Gon) Turns out it was a good decision because I love this set. It's movie accurate (look) and full of cool features, like the STAP that fits in the back and the repair droid. So, in a certain way, I made this to help people who were hesitating like me to make up their mind by tackling the major flaw that was the poor droid capacity. So here it is: the 75058 MTT with a 16 droid capacity No structural change were made. I only took out some pieces of the inside so the rack would fit in. It is easy to make http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=6154414 http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=6150890 Both "level" are removable (they slide like the original rack) http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=6150888 Maybe a big flaw, but the doors don't close more then that. (I don't remember if the unmoded version door close more. Probably) http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=6154415 2nd version of the rack. Now the door closes better! http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=6155270 http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=6155271 16 guns fit in the back. It's not pretty but it works. http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=6154416 More pictures on my Brickself http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=547620 Comments are welcome! Edit: The picture were bigger then 800x600 so I removed the deeplink. I don't know how to lower the resolution sorry. Edit 2: Added pictures of an alternate rack. Now the door closes better.

The value of the Imperial Star Destroyer (set 75055)
duboismerci replied to Something_Awesome's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I got mine for 105$ in Canada. It was on sale at Target Knowing it goes for 150$ when not on sale it was an awesome deal. I would say that if you get this set for under 120$ in Canada or under 105$ in the US it is a steal. And as you said the minifigs of this sets are difficult to obtain and the price per piece ration is the best of 2014 (for Star Wars) It is the best Star Wars set currently available value wise -

Nice emperor's arrival scene you made on the 3rd pics Great ot collection! -
When I feel old, I got buy more Lego. Best cure ever until you don't have any sets left to build. Then you go out to buy some more... Prelims are prelims. Until the sets are revealed everything can still change! Lets hope for the best!

Someone said that last year AT-AP price got lowered between its showing at the comic con and its release. If the ITT is regular stormies I'll buy 12 of them since I only have 3 stortrooper: 1 from 1999 and 2 from the new ISS Also 3 of pretty much all the BPs, the ATT, the micros and the hailfire droid. (and maybe the azure angel if the price is right) And even if I will probably end up watching the show, I really dislike the ships from the series so far. the Ghost and the Phantom were horrible so is this year AT-DP and the Tie prototype (which is also overpriced) The speeders are nothing special so I will also pass. ( This is my opinion. For those who like the designs: good for you! ) At least me not buying rebels sets will save me a bunch of needed $ for my clone army! Edit: Answer to Slurpifier I still had the 2014 summer prelims saved on my pc. The stormtrooper in the Ghost is definitely not the one that was release with the set. He does look like the ones in the ITT prelims

I think the JSF and the Tie advance prototype will be 39.99$/euro and 29.99 in the USA ( like the snowspeeder this year) If not that is a ridiculous price upgrade because theses aren't 50$ sets. I would definitely NOT pay 50$ + tax for a starfighter and 3 minifigs. This year Anakin's Interceptor had 223 pieces and 2 minifigs for 29.99$/euro Saesee Tin's Interceptor had 244 but 3 minifigs for 39,99$/euro So this winter starfighter (50$) must be at least 300+ pieces knowing it has 3 minis ( same thing for the tie advance prototype) If not it is a total rip off because there hasn't been a 25% inflation since 2012... Edit: price in Canada are the same as in Europe but in CAD $ ( and since our currency isn't strong we don't feel too riped off)

In Canada? How and where?

@3KgFeed Lots of clones, Laat Dropship, turbo tank and arc fighter All sets I would love to own Plus you made a great display Nice collection! BTW: what are the pieces you are using under your LAAT gunship? -
I got the Imperial Star Destroyer 75055 for 105$ CAD I got it for cheaper then the US price which is almost a miracle here in Canada
-
ISD is 105$ at Target in Canada http://toysnbricks.com/category/lego-discounts/lego-sales-canada/ I still didn't find one because all the target I went to were out of stock On the last day of the 20% off sale at TRU I bought the droid gunship and a second death star trooper BP
-
I will go look at my local target (here in Montreal) and post if it's on sale thanks again Awesome find A local store near me is selling it for 115$ So i think you made a decent deal
-
Online or only in store? Is it a sale or you think they made a mistake on the price? Thanks
-
Cool Now you need to do more search to see if you find more unopened box!

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
duboismerci replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
European box don't have the piece count on it. In the US (and Canada I think) the piece kind of toys is mandatory. So if Lego sold European box in the US it would be "illegal" Boxes are different in North America from the rest of the world. -
Maybe but it was fun to crash then I would do a battle in the wreckage of the X-wing. They were just bricks being separated. Now on the new set if a wings comes out it means the technic frame broke. I cant crash land my 75021 Republic gunship because I fear the wing will rip off and destroy the technic piece inside. The new sets are swooshable but they are not crashable No more epic battle with broken ships all over the floor and pilots escaping imperial patrol. And it was always fun to rebuild those destroyed ships.

What Star Wars set would you never ever sell?
duboismerci replied to rexusprime's topic in LEGO Star Wars
7130 Snowspeeder 7140 X-Wing 7150 Tie Fighter and Y-Wing I was 5 when I got these for my birthday and for Christmas. So many hours playing with them and they have a "collector" value since they were from the 1st Lego Star Wars wave. And 75021 Republic Gunship because it's awesome and it's the ship that I always wanted. plus it made me come back into Lego last august. -
Great!!! The 212th is my favorite clone unit because of the airborne trooper, Cody and Obi Wan. Looking forward to your build! (Like always)
-
Thanks for the info. There are so many Lego colours. It is hard to keep track. Since I played the 1999 Star Wars Rogue Squadron on PC (best game ever btw) in which the X-Wing was rather grey, I always assumed it was grey and it was a widely accepted. It seems it is just me and maybe a couple of "Rogue" who think that way? This convo made me want to buy the new X-Wing for the extra astromech (that I could us in my original Y-Wing since I lost the poor astro) and that extra pilots for my original Snowspeeder (I lost one of the pilots...)
-
Very nice! But maybe you should add some 212th since Obi Wan lead them on Umbara It's just a idea since, like a said, the build is already impressive! congrats
-
I wouldn't be surprised if the new AAT came with Dart Maul. It would make sense since the MTT came with Qui Gon and Obi Wan
