batman arkahm asylum or star wars sith infiltrator
iamded replied to Lemonu2's topic in LEGO Licensed
Woohoo! Batman for the win! :-D Good decision. *y* X-D -
So, since the release of this great new Castle line, KK has been completely disregarded. I took down my neat little KK shelf-top display (along with the small Viking boat set) and smashed up the sets for rebuilding, to accommodate the few '07 Castle sets I had. Now, I've posted the evil side, on to the good! The main attraction here is the Blacksmith/Armour Shop. The build is basic, and it doesn't really have a roof, but that's how I build them. For playability really. Get some plates, stick on some bricks and burps, secure them to each other and you have an iamded style building! Not for detailed MOCs mind you. :-P The Blacksmith's workshop. I used the Mistlands Tower design for it, it's good enough. The Armour shop chose yellow for it's flag colour, as that's the colour of the Town Guard, it's main customers. :-D The shop area. A more detailed story based description of this building can be found here. Every town needs lookout towers, even if it's a 1 shop town. Like this one. This particular tower has enough room for all the Town Guard to cower on, and a catapult to fire at the enemy wall. Surprisingly, they managed to land a hit on the enemy wall. (Can be seen in the evil thread of this.) Bridge. Not much to say, other than it's kinda falling apart, due to lack of maintenance. The bridge can only carry people across, so for an excuse as to how the siege equipment got across, I threw together this crane. You know, it's hard to make a crane out of scrap KK pieces, and a boat. Another guard tower. Where the archers sit and snipe off stray skellies. And the custom siege equipment. The Royal Catapult, Town Guard's Catapult Ram, and the Viking's catapult. Now, the inhabitants of this small town. (First off, completely disregard the KK storyline. These guys are all on the same team, different colours discern different ranks.) The Town Guard. Colour: yellow. Logo: dragon. Town Guard: Archery Division. Colour: blue. Logo: serpent. Royal Guard. Colour: blue/silver. Logo: crown, eagle for the King. The Knight brothers. Colour: red. Logo: bull. Hobo and Blacksmith. Viking allies.

The building in the middle is great, the foliage, statues, waterfall, landscape, all of it's fantastic. The only thing I don't greatly like are the towers, maybe it's too much of an angle, maybe it's just me. On a more positive note, replace the minifigs with Lego Worms armed with weapons, and it'll fit right in! :-D (Referring to Worms 4 here.)
-
I can happily say there's nothing wrong with this in my opinion! The windmill, the statue, the tree, the peasant relaxing and having a bite to eat, it's all wonderful. I'm a bit confused about the King's Keep thought. The towers are very original, but, well, in my opinion it just looks a it strange. But the guy going over the waterfall, hilarious. :-D Great job! *y* *y*

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. :-D Yeah, I thought I'd put that evil face above the gate, see if anyone noticed. X-D And the head on the halberd, well, I didn't have a spare lance, and I was trying to use the the KK set pieces only, so the halberd did the job. And the head's there, well, I dunno. I skellies are hungry. :-P I don't really like the head anymore, so I changed it. I added more bones too, make it eerier. :-D And jifel, I made up an excuse. :-)

Awesome set! I really like the robots, and that tiny tank could be quite useful! All the fancy machinery in there really make it more like a lab than a restaurant! :-D The thing I found most funny was the positioning of the middle finger on the hand. :-D :-D Definitely gave me quite a laugh. X-D

It would be neat. SO much possibilities. A Quick-E-Mart would be awesome, I could use a Lego supermarket (saying that, I must mention Keith Goldman's MOC, awesomeness :-D ). A school, too, and a burger place (Krusty Burger), a donut place (Lard Lad's Donuts), why doesn't Lego make fast food sets? So much possibilities, but sadly, not gonna happen. :'-( (That's not a fact though. It's not impossible, just highly improbable [to quote The Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy])

Review: 4982 Spongebob - Mrs Puff's Boating School
iamded replied to xwingyoda's topic in LEGO Licensed
Man, that Sponge-bob head cracks me up! Hilarity. This is a cool set, although I much prefer the Chum Bucket set. I don't see what's wrong with the course, then again I can see why AFOLs wouldn't like it. It's just playability really. I like the breakable wall though. The building is cool, a few modifications (i.e. making it more realistic, real chairs for a start) and it would make a cool little wharf for your Lego town. And to SW4J, Mrs Puff's legs are connected at the feet, if you look closely. So, thanks for the great review, *yoda*! -
Whack-a-Fig Contest Semi-Final Round 2
iamded replied to Hinckley's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I found optimus-convoy's vig to be very creative, and that got my vote! Although must say, the others are very neat too. But, come on, that Optimus is just awesome. :-D *y* *y* -
I only ever got the first movie. On tape. Haha, it still rocks though. :-D

So, since the release of this great new Castle line, KK has been completely disregarded. I took down my neat little KK shelf-top display (along with the small Viking boat set) and smashed up the sets for rebuilding, to accommodate the few '07 Castle sets I had. As you may have noticed in the title, this thread is for my rebuilds for the evil side. Good side rebuild coming soon. The main MOC was this wall, separating the goodies from the baddies (that, and the two separate tables :-P ). Some details. I'm quite happy with the gargoyles actually. I had to make the evil side seem more, well, evil, since I don't (yet) have the Skeleton Tower. And what's more evil than torture, and cooking pumpkin soup? Evil pumpkin soup? Well, except for Darktide's awesome MOC. Nothing fancy , I was just finishing off the leftover parts, sticking them together to create something. Now, wanna see a real mess of parts put together to create something? Let's just say it's some ruins of olde, put to some use by the skellies. Here I was just mopping up the last pieces in the box, except for some doors and technic pieces and other random bits. I figured if the evil wizard had that magic crystal, he'd need something to guard it when he and his army are off plaguing somewhere. So why not a guard dog? X-D [EDIT] The hound is trained, he'll only eat meat, not bone. Thus making it much easier for the wizard to create extra minions. Note: This is not an original design, it's from the Viking vs Fenris Wolf set. This was just for fun. The tower was hollow, and there was room underneath the 'floorboards'. And I had a mangled skellie. So I chucked him in. Then I thought, well, no one can see him under there, so I made him bust up through the floor. Fun. And now, my complete dark army, so far. I did have a back story for why the aren't all the new skellies. Here it is; The '07 skellies are the ones summoned, created by the dark wizard. The old skellies are simple re-animated corpses, under the wizard's control. The dragon rider you can see was once a knight, filled with great evil when he was alive, so much so it was distorting him, physically and mentally. When he died, the evil lived on, and when he was revived by the dark wizard's magic, the wizard found he couldn't control him like he could the other minions. However, the evil knight joined up with the wizard in exchange with some of his dragon controlling powers. Now he serves the wizard with determination, a thirst for blood, and a mighty dragon as his steed. He also has a cool sword. :-P Ah, I love that dragon. *Fun Fact* In an attempt to create a Grim Reaper fig, I painted one of these (*skull*) skulls with a bit of red and black, to get a blood effect. It didn't work too well, but it looked pretty evil anyway, so I left the paint on. Now it serves as the Dragon Rider's head.

Woohoo! Not too much to say that hasn't already been said. I'll need to gather up money if I plan on getting a complete collection, I still need all the big sets; castle, ship, dwarf's mine, and I don't have any money. :-| But I must say, the future looks very promising! :-D

batman arkahm asylum or star wars sith infiltrator
iamded replied to Lemonu2's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'd get Arkham Asylum, if not only for the figures, but for the great playability too. :-D X-D Seriously though, I'd get the Arkham Asylum, after seeing the review of the Sith Infiltrator, I just don't like how it's put together. It doesn't even really have a cockpit, he just sits on the speeder thing. And it's not that detailed. I'd definitely get the Asylum. Who doesn't like Batman? Such a great figure pack. I want it. :-( Get it and post a review. :-D With lots of detailed pics, so it's almost as if I have the set. In my head anyway. :-D :-P -
Nice job! I think the pics are fine, I can see everything well. The boosters are cool, and I like the B/W colour scheme. Keep up the good work! *y* :-D
-
Well, the link isn't working for me, but form the description it definitely doesn't sound like a set. I agree, it sounds more like some pens.
-
That... is... fantastic. I love the insect like beast, and the tentacle plant monster which pops the words "mutant Sarlaac pit" into my head. And the amassing army of the undead, well, that could totally plague a small village. The like the dual sword wielding bat-folk, they look quite neat. I like the way the creator used lots of 2x2 circular tiles, especially round the tentacle beast, it gives a feeling it's pushed it's way to the surface, with the sand piling around it. It's neat. I like the skeletal animal thing in the rear corner, even though I'm not entirely sure what it is. Still, this is an amazing MOC, great find. *y* *y* :-D
-
It doesn't look like a very good build, looking at the instructions. It seems more like one of those model sets that you glue together than Lego. The only true Lego aspect of it is the rip-off minifigs, especially the heads. Although I wouldn't mind a few of those helmets. Might as well order off Brick Arms.
-
This set has great playability, I like the way you've made it very accessible. This is neat, although a bit crowded. Still, good job. *y*
-
Another of TheBrickster's fantastic mocs! I love the stories you have with each set, they really add to it. I see you've found a use for the new pumpkin head already. :-D Great design of the mill, very good construction, great job. X-D *y*

I wanna hit something with my shiny new arm. If I sit around much longer I'll just be hitting them with a slightly dull, semi-new arm. And that's no good. We should teach those rebels who's boss! Just waiting for your orders Lord *vader*.
-
I voted for Vader and Timento. They are both very creative and well-done. Although a lot of others were, and it was hard to choose!
-
Uh, gah, blur! Lord Vader! What an.. honourable surprise! <Throws soda and chips away, brushes crumbs off suit> I apologize for our shoddy appearance, but, uh, we were trying to look off our guard, so when some stray rebels tried to ambush us, it would actually be us ambushing them! Because we are on our guard. Completely. Did you see my new arm? X-D <Flexes metal arm, clicks robotic fingers, so it makes cool robotic sounding noises> Heh heh. X-D Uh. Ready for duty! Shall we give the rebels a bit of a scare, remind them who's in charge? Word has it they're getting more recruits. Fools. They are blind to the Empire's might. More important news, I picked up scraps of a transmission from the rebels, something about TK. It sounded like they were attacking him. Now this itself is quite good, as it now seems the rebels are against him too. But let us not forget, the enemy of our enemy is not necessarily our ally. Like in this case. But the important part of the important news, apparently TK had Storm-troopers fighting with him! Either some of our troops are turning corrupt, or he's controlling them. We must put a stop to this corruption. Er, your highness. Your choice, you're the boss. Just, thought I'd throw in my opinion. X-D ~Ded out.
-
What was TK on about? Shiny water? Shiny sparks? Shiny explosion? Explosion aren't shiny, believe you me. If by saying shiny metal arm, he meant he was watching me, then, well, yes, it is quite shiny, thank you. Wait. He can't be here, there aren't any explosions. Hm.
-
About that little... surprise... I left with TK. It's a special little... surprise. I think it might... surprise... you. It's quite... surprise... -ing. Okay, now the word 'surprise' has lost all meaning. It's a tracking device. I put a tracking device on you. You'll never find it. It's so sneaky. Like that ol' quarter behind the ear trick. Yep. Behind the ear. <TK checks behind his ear and pulls out a quarter> TK: A quarter? You gave me a quarter? Oh, that is how it may appear, but it's actually... a tracking device! That's right! I placed a tracking device on you! You see, it's awful boring in the medical wing, so to keep me entertained I set about constructing a tiny concealable tracking device. And I made it look like a quarter. Sneaky huh? Of course when we locked you up, I managed to slip it behind your ear, with you none the wiser! Who's holding the cards now eh? Eh? TK: Of course now I know what it is, I have disposed of it, haven't I? Fool, why would you even tell me it's a tracking device? Did you think I would keep it with me? That's a horrible plan! You're even more stupid than I thought! Now, I have more important matters to attend to. Be gone! Aw. I didn't really think this through. But I am not stupid! You know I got this new arm thanks to you. And next time I see you, I'm gonna let you have a closer look! At my fist! My shiny new metal one! Haha! Ahaha! Ahahahahaaaa! Okay I'm done. ~Ded out. :-D

Zombies? If you have a Lego zombie MOC and you're not sharing it with us I will be disappointed. Anyway, I'll check out this game tomorrow as I have school again tomorrow and should go to bed now.
