Picked up the UCS TIE from the Walmart sale, Built it today and I am in love with it! It is so big and impressive in person, solid as a rock and HEAVY. I keep thinking it is stuck on the stand when I go to pick it up, but it just weighs that much.

I love that hair piece for Han, but for old Obi Wan I think the original looks better.

I don't have the Ghost, but if I saw it at retail price I'd be all over it. It baffles me why Lego was so quick to retire the main vehicle from a series that will likely go on for a few more years. If nothing else it should be a good investment as Rebel fans realize they missed it. -
What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars minifigures?

I also got the Final Duel Vader head and helmet, (which is AMAZING) from Bricks and Pieces. -

In no particular order: C-3PO - Dark Red Arm (5002948) - The only fig I own with side printed legs First Order Stormtrooper - Love the helmet and overall aesthetic Princess Leia (Camouflage Cape) - I am scared it is going to rip if my kids ever get ahold of it, but love that poncho Gray Squadron Pilot (75050) - Take a look inside the helmet and you'll see how complex and cool it is Watto (7962) - The incorrect color hands are lame, but still a great fig. -
Good thinking :) I am very seriously considering getting a spare of this one to keep in the box (which I never do, my only boxed SW set is a $100 clearance UCS B-Wing), maybe a few years down the line it could fund 2 or 3 new UCS sets. Even the box itself is gorgeous!

UCS: 1. Slave I 2. Red 5 X-wing 3. Imperial Shuttle Non-UCS 1. 7662 MTT 2. 75055 Star Destroyer 3. 75021 Republic Gunship Not that you asked, but the two sets I just don't care for after purchasing would be 75042 Droid Gunship and 10188 Death Star.

The designer video can currently be found here: http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/movies/2016/02/13/exclusive-star-wars-lego-set-assault-on-hoth/80317552/ One clever thing I noticed in the video is that the Ion Cannon seems to have a rubber band powered mechanism that resets it after firing the two shots.

Someone mentioned it earlier and I think it is a good question: Why does the A-Wing have rubber bands on the underside? http://www.fbtb.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/2016-02-13-05.17.08.jpg I figure it must be some sort of elaboratespring loaded shooters firing mechanism, perhaps you pull on the back of the ship to fire them?

There is definitely a market for a X-wing in alternate colors, when the black and orange was revealed a great number of people here posted they would not buy it due to the colors. Hopefully those posters were able to exercise enough restraint to wait for this one :)

As someone who only started collecting in 2012 this set gives me a lot of things I have been wanting, though I understand why others are so upset. For me the biggest disappointment is that the set contains no Bacta Tank, Med Droid or Bacta Luke. If the previous set containing those is as awful as most seem to think I should be able to pick it up pretty cheap, right?

How does everyone deal with dust on their Lego? Canned air works somewhat, but there always seems to be a layer left behind that won't come off without being actually touched. Does anyone know of a good small brush that won't scratch the bricks? I thought I had found one, but when it arrived in the mail it was WAY bigger than what I expected. -
Can you elaborate any? Has it changed significantly from the preliminary pic? I didn't think it looked particularly small on the box art. Hoping it turns out good, I already sold my Clone Wars version in preparation for replacing it with this one.

I check on UCS set prices on eBay once in a while, and it seems that they double in price pretty quickly after retirement (in sealed box, or course). If you are buying for value, I would suggest the Slave 1 and the Red 5 X-Wing personally, as I feel they are the most popular ships available currently that new collectors are likely to consider "must-haves" when they are starting a collection in a few years. I wish I had the discipline to either keep my UCS sets boxed, or save enough money to buy extras! So far the only unopened Star Wars set I own is a UCS B-Wing that I picked up during the $100 Brick Friday sale. -
The only TFA set I have thus far is Rey's Speeder. I was looking at it today and noticed all of the curved pieces that form the front end have cracked on one side where the studs plug in. This seems to be happening to me a lot with bricks with a 1x1 opening, cheese slopes, 1x1 bricks etc. They almost all have a crack on one side after the set has been assembled. As a collector it is certainly troubling.
