  1. This set really is all about the figs, isn't it... Nothing wrong with that, and i have to say this one is on my "must get" list - that swamp creature is awesome! I'm pretty happy with Frank's expression without the goofy sunglasses too.
  2. If only it were that simple... "the Drow are bad, wipe out the Drow and you wipe out the problem." I agree that Yavonnel is a reckless, ruthless leader with an appitite for expansion, but i wonder how many other lords of Historica would accept those adjectives as tributes to thier ability? I too fear that there is a new enemy rising in Historica, but it doesn't seem clear to me where the real threat lies, or how it may best be combated. In short, i'm not sure that we should be wasting our strength in open war before we need to. As regards this current conflict, Peregrinus is staying neutral at the moment, at the behest of our great Kaliphlin leader. We still operate our embassy, "The easternmost star", in Nocturnus and shall be monitoring the situation from there. Civilian refugees from the conflict can apply for aid and protection at our embassy, and we shall study the feasibility of sending aid ships if the need arises. Visitors from both Avalonia and Nocturnus will still be welcomed to Berigora, but travel away from the city itself will be temporarily curtailled for visitors. Any fighting between visiting Avalonians and Nocturnians will not be tolerated, on pain of immediate expulsion from our territories. In addition, any foriegn ship captain caught engaging in or inciting violence in Peregrinian ports or waters shall have thier ship confiscated and be invited to swim home.
  3. What a magnificent barge Lord Flagg! Looks both beautiful and menancing at the same time - a wonderful flagship. Those Ninjago sails look great, especially the subtle stripes on the reverse side. I shall look forward to seeing this beauty in our waters sometime!
  4. Looking good there Mikel! I agree with robuko, the sand dunes look great. I like the shinyness of the balcony as well, looks very sinister... Aha - the stories are true then! What a wonderful surprise, to find that we have old neighbours that we'd never known before! With your permission, i shall send emissaries of our own also, to formally welcome your clansmen into our guild and to assure you that should the Drow ever trouble your lands, Peregrinian forces will march to assist you in throwing them back. If you don't mind, i'd also like to send our court herbologist, to study some of your hardy mountain plants and learn what plant-lore you have. Please, do not feel the need to disguise yourself any longer when you visit us - your kinsmen are ours also and very welcome in Peregrinus. Raptors are also sacred to our people, so perhaps we share more of a common ancestry that we suspect. (ps. Great backstory! I look forward to seeing and finding out more about the Nestlands. )
  5. Ahahahaha.... brilliant! Best theme park ride ever! Me next, me next...
  6. Gosh, just wandered over to the other guild's threads and saw Yvonnel's (Angeli) bounty on Lord Ssiyyrrlith's head! And now it seems that significant portions of Nocturnus are turning against the drow as well as Avalonia... crazy times. I agree that we don't need to weigh into this conflict just yet, but certainly we should start looking to our armies and navies and defenses - we could find ourselves drawn in soon enough! Is this true that there is only one more challenge to go? Aw... Still, looking on the bright side - that means more time for free building!
  7. Ikr? I'm guessing though that the current guild leaders might want a break from running the show at some stage, so i imagine the transition period to new leadership will be an "end" of sorts. One of my goals is to have competed in every challenge up to that point! I'm not entirely sure what the critera for a shield is, but i imagine it's something like; be active in the forums, build lots of stuff, write lots of stories etc. But it's really up to the mods.
  8. Great little vig robuko, those windows are brilliant, as is the doorway! Great idea. I also like the little sloped awning over the bar, it really helps break up the "squareness" of the room.
  9. Cheers! I'm pretty chuffed with it actually, it looks great. Interesting! Yes, i remember your palette tag, i wonder why it went... As for the my shield, i was asked by ISC which one i wanted and i nominated the BF one - it seemed appropriate.
  10. Yeah, i meant "significant" in the sense that "the difference bewteen the two bricks connected thusly is both observable and consistant". Doesn't stop me using it though. Btw, clever idea with the 1x1 corner panel to get around the unwanted studs on the travis brick. I'll have to remember that one!
  11. Beautiful little building Matn, looks great! I love the corner tower and the blue roof looks very smart. The weather vane is a nice touch too. Yeah, it's a bummer that the bricks with side studs and technic bricks don't line up perfectly... i forget what the overhang is but it is significant.
  12. And you found one! Aw, thanks Zcerb, i'm loving my new tag! Aw thanks robuko, i'm glad the constant stream of WIP's at the death wasn't too annoying then. I've started my last two builds for this story now, hopefully i can polish them off in the next week or so. Cheers, glad you like it!
  13. Oh no, that's terrible news... confirmed then? I'm so sad... All of Kaliphlin mourns with you today DeGothia, she was a great ambassador of your land. (ps. Nice FP btw, although i'm finding it hard to focus on through my tears... )
  14. Hey Axel, sorry it's taken so long to get around to commenting on your challenge 3 build. This looks like a very promising start, i'm just sorry that you couldn't progress any further with it for the deadline as i'm sure it would have been great! I especially like your photography here - the dof on the first shot is really sweet and you have that hot desert sun feel going on too.
  15. First, my apologies Brickmaestro that i've taken so long to get around to commenting on your entry. Your village looks great, very lively. Lovely landscaping too, the dark orange and sand green accents look a treat - i'm getting very envious of ppl who have a good amount of dark orange! It's a shame that you didn't manage to progress this story any further - it's a great start. Free builds maybe?
  16. Nice scene, i like the way that you have enclosed the entire area of the shot with rocks. I'd like a few more pics though, showing us exactly who is who and perhaps illustrating the action a bit more. "King Numpty" sound intruiging, i'd like to hear a bit more about him...
  17. Thanks for the great review Lego Otaku! Loving this set, looks brilliant and is a sweet parts pack to boot. Can't wait until i can get my hands on one.
  18. Thanks for the nice early review Cptn BB, boy am i jealous of you right now! This looks like a great set, if i can i'll def be getting a couple.
  19. Thanks for the early review Lego Otaku! Tbh i'll be getting all of the LOTR sets, but this seems like one of the better one's to me - nice piece count and beautiful figs! Yeah the stickers are annoying, but i do like the option to not use them if i don't want to. Having said that, i would have preferred a printed book though.
  20. I reckon go for your free build idea Mikel - don't worry too much about trying to predict the next challenge, we'll get plenty of time to get that done anyway. And we always need more free builds! I've got a couple planned myself, once i finish re-building this pesky motorized excavator... (gosh, technic really is a whole different ball game, isn't it?)
  21. Great entry Blaze, i really like your variety of scenes. My personal favourites have to be the entrance to the mountain castle and the crystal tomb. The dragon makes for a very imposing gaurdian as well. Well done, best of luck!
  22. Lol! No, not at all - perhaps you could have built up and out a bit more, but what was there hit the spot i reckon.
  23. Nice story Gondabuggan! I would have liked to have seen perhaps some action scenes of the adventurers fighting the gaurdians, that would have been really cool. Good on you for getting an entry in though. Best of luck!
  24. Very unusual looking constructions with the arches Niku, it really makes the building stand out. The black and white stripes around the exterior at the front also look quite romanesque, which seems appropriate for the border of Avalonia and Kaliphlin! I like your avenue of statues as well. Nice entry, best of luck!
  25. Wow! Nice conclusion to this storyline - or is it? You really are developing quite an individual style with these builds - it's great to see.
