  1. Hey, great review! I notice you made a tiny mistake on the chimney stack, you used grey piece 4211097 with the holes instead of 4558959. You've probably used it on the main mast, I did exactly the same thing when building mine. I also notice there's a couple of differences between the instructions and the box art. The gold brick under the Cow is reversed and the construction of the post on the ships wheel is slightly different. cheers Scott
  2. Thanks for the great info! As a vintage non Lego toy collector but someone who has kept an eye on Lego for the last 15 years - I can only conclude Lego is it's own strange beast. I think the difference is AFOL's are mainly focused on modern stuff so you can pick up some crazy vintage Lego bargains all the time! Scott
  3. I'll bet! Dormant fans of the hobby like myself... aint dormant anymore! The movie has given a reason to combine my previously moderate interest in vintage lego, star wars and pop culture lego all into one universe! Plus the movie is better than Toy Story = it's crazy bonkers good! It's without a doubt the best animated picture Oscar next year, unless there's a lot of politics involved.
  4. Lego is the ONE toy that I still have from when I was a kid, from my Police Headquarters 370 and Coast Guard Station 575, collecting up until the early 80's probably. Ironically unlike with my other favourite toy lines when I was a kid I never felt the urge to (re-)collect Lego beacause I still have my originals. With the other’s I started off getting what I had when I was a kid, then carried on... for twenty years. I never had that starting point with Lego because, I don’t need to re-buy that nostalgia – I have it all in one big box right here :) But.... the movie has finally drawn me in - it creates a pop cuture mash-up that’s going to allow me to mix my vintage sets with the amazing new Sea Cow and my love of Star Wars giving me... at long last an excuse to buy a Falcon! Cheers! Scott
