I'll have to check out the Target down in Waterford, CT on Wednesday after my physical therapy session. (Recovering from a very painful shoulder surgery back in March). Hopefully they'll be available there so I can spend some time feeling them out to get my complete set. Don't want to have to go the e-bay route to get the full set of these.

Well, I can state that if they had used regular "Lego heads" for the Simpsons characters I would have never purchased the house or any of the CMF figures when they come out. It just would not have looked "right" to me. Plus, it's incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to make 3D what is widely known as a 2D drawing.

Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary CUUSOO set Discussion
Jdurg replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in LEGO Licensed
It was quite sad hearing that Harold Ramis died. Such a great actor, director, and human being. It also makes me sad seing another person I grew up watching on TV and in movies pass away. :( I will definitely be picking up this Ghostbusters car to get the Egon minifigure. Harold Ramis was in so many good movies, and many movies that a bunch of people forget. One of my guilty pleasures is the movie "Airheads". In no way, shape, or form is this movie good, but it had so many classic moments in there. Harold Ramis played a record executive and I loved it when his character was asked the question "Who would win in a fight, God or Lemmy?" He quickly answered "Lemmy..... no God." when Steve Buscemi's character interrupted and said "Trick question, Lemmy is God!" lol. R.I.P. Harold. You will be missed. -

When I was a KFOL, and well still today as an AFOL, I was very OCD with my Lego bricks. I had a drawer with which I made little "cups" where I would store parts based on color, size, etc. I would then put labels on the outside of the drawers to indicate that this drawer had all the gray pieces, then when I'd open it up I'd see the 1-by-X pieces in a cup, 2-by-x pieces in a cup, flat pieces, etc. Now as an AFOL I only have The Simpsons House set so I don't have a bunch of spare bricks lying around, but if I get more and more into the hobby (space, time, and money depending) I'll probably get back into my little drawer system like I did as a KFOL.

I would definitely like them to do a Springfield Elementary School set. However, I can only seeing them doing the main classroom due to the size of the school. The full school would end up needing to be about three to four times the size of the Simpsons House in order to be at the same scale. That would be close to 10,000 pieces and I can never see them doing that. Anyway, the sets I would love to see are: Qwik-E-Mart: Would be the full building and parking lot in front with the Dumpster. Minifigs would be Apu, Snake, Jimbo, and Dolph. Comic Book Shop: Perhaps they could do this kind of like a Modular with printed comic books (Radioactive Man #1) in a window thing to make it look like a case. It would also include Comic Book Guy and Milhouse. Springfield Retirement Home: Include Grandpa Simpson and other old Minifigures. The set would just be the main room where the old folks relax. Springfield Elementary School: Would include Bart and Lisa's classes with a hallway and perhaps Principal Skinner's office. Minifigs would be Martin, Mrs. Krabappal, Principal Skinner, Superintendant Chalmers, Lisa's Teacher. Springfield Elementary School Playground: Would have the playground with the slide, monkey bars, and domed playcage. Would also have Groundskeeper Willie's shed. Minifigs would be Nelson, Ralph, Groundskeeper Willie. Otto's Bus: A school bus with Otto as the driver, Sherri and Terri, Springfield Nuclear Power Plant: The set would be Homer's office, the radioactive material handling area as seen in the show intro, and the kitchen/break room. Minifigs would include Carl, and Lenny. Mr. Burns' Mansion: This one would be a big set, but due to all the open space in his mansion it would be fairly empty. Would include "the hounds", Mr. Burns, Smithers. Springfield Police: Would include a simple station with an entrance and a jail cell. It would also include a police car and a police prisoner transport van. Minifigs would be Police Chief Wiggum, Sideshow Bob, Lou, and Eddie. The Flanders' House: Would be similar in size to The Simpsons House, and would include Church Suit Ned Flanders, Maude Flanders, Rod and Todd Flanders, Helen and Reverend Lovejoy. This would be so that they could include them without having to include the Church which I'm not sure is something they would want to do. At the Flanders' House, they would be there for an after church lunch or dinner, hence why the Flanders' Family would be in their church gear. Channel Six: This set would have the newsroom where the News is shot, Krusty The Clown's studio, and Canal Ocho. It would have the backstage area which would have a hallway leading to the dressing rooms of the minifigs in the set. Minifigs would include Kent Brockman, Krusty The Clown, Sideshow Mel, and Bumblebee Man. The sets I've listed above are "big" sets and would likely be in the $100 plus range for most, if not all, of them. But if they were to release multiple Simpsons sets in this theme (which I'm REALLY hoping they do), they could add in mini-sets like Bart's Tree House, Town Center with Jebediah Springfield, etc. etc. in between the large sets. I've excluded Moe's Tavern since Lego has already stated they will NOT be producing this set, but perhaps an MOC Moe's Tavern could be created and instructions given on how to build it. Hopefully we'll get at least one of the sets I mentioned above, but I would REALLY love to see them all!

Many thanks! Yeah, I should be fine to play with Legos. :) I built my Simpsons House prior to my doctor prescribing something to help the pain. So I'm used to building with one arm. Still deciding my next purchase at the moment. So many great options. :D

I'm new to the current Lego scene, but I'm a bit disappointed that these CMFs are being sold in blind bags so that you have no idea who it is that you are buying. I have a sick feeling that there will be some characters who are made in much lower amounts than the others, so in order to get them you'll have to purchase a ton of blind bags and have an excess of Simpsons characters which couldn't really be used for anything else. Even worse is that with short-printed characters, folks will learn how to search for them in the bags, purchase them all, then price-gouge them on E-Bay for insane prices. :( I'm not sure how it has been done with past CMF sets, but I'm hoping that Lego makes all of the characters in the same quantity in each box sent off to stores so that we don't have to spend a fortune trying to find the one character we really want that is the "rare" character in the series.- 82 replies

Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary CUUSOO set Discussion

Wow. This is incredible looking. I'm just getting back into Lego (The Simpsons House was my first Lego purchase for myself in 25 years or so), and this will be great. Egon looks amazing, and the Ecto-1 is incredible looking and not super blocky like the DeLorean is. Can't wait! :D -
Hello there. I wanted to introduce myself and give everyone a sense of my background with Legos. I was born over three decades ago and grew up in the 1980's with a plethora of Legos around me. They were sold in every store out there and were very easy to find. Even better, my grandmother was born and raised in Germany and when she would fly over to Germany each year she would come back with a great deal of Legos. I absolutely loved them. My favorite was the city theme and I had a great friend (lucky only child, lol) who had an entire bedroom in his house devoted to city themed Legos. I mean, he had EVERYTHING. It was really impressive seeing all the road and grass plates and the different buildings scattered around. Made my collection seem sad and pathetic. Heh. My parents would also buy me Legos, but for some reason they thought I liked the Castle Theme more. I really didn't care for the Castle Theme, but since they were buying me Legos I didn't complain and happily built them. Still, I always wanted an airport or police station more than I did the latest castle. I was still able to have fun though and fondly remember opening up the boxes, dumping out the massive bag of parts, then sorting them out and putting them together great times. When I got older and started into middle and high school, however, my tastes changed and the Legos ceased to be a part of my life. Eventually, when my mother got sick of stepping on loose parts, she threw them all away and until recently my Lego building had ended. Currently, I have a three year old nephew who is HUGE into Legos. He loves opening up the boxes, putting them together with the instructions (a really smart kid to be doing this at 3), and playing with the completed builds. My brother-in-law has begun to go and superglue the parts together once built since my nephew loves playing with the completed builds like toys but gets upset when he breaks them and they fall apart. This past Christmas, he was asking for Legos from Santa, so being a good Uncle I went out to Wal-Mart and bought him some sets. Just like I was as a kid, he loves Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Star Wars, so I got him a set from each line. When buying them, something inside of me turned on and I started thinking about getting some sets of my own. Late last year, while reading articles on Kotaku, I saw that the Simpsons House was being released early in 2014. I work from home and my home office has plenty of free space, so I figured, might as well start getting back into them! I bought the Simpsons House and was SHOCKED at how big the box was and how many parts were in it. I had a blast spending a good 8 hours putting it together. A search on Google brought me to this site, and I've been sneakily lurking for the past few months reading up on reviews of other sets and looking forward to more Simpsons sets, especially the CMF set. I'm a little bummed that the CMFs are sold in Blind Bags which means I'll probably end up spending a LOT of money on them in order to get the full set, and also will need to buy them online only since I can't find any local stores that actually have a large collection of Lego stuff around me. I also want to avoid E-Bay as the scams and price gouging that goes on there is disgusting. I'm based on the East Coast of the USA, and thanks to mother nature dumping all over us, I'll have plenty of time stuck at home to build some Legos. I have shoulder surgery coming up on my left shoulder in the next few weeks (was trying to put on muscle and lose weight, but lifted to heavy a weight in the wrong form and tore my labrum, strained a bunch of other stuff, and basically need to have my shoulder reconstructed), so when I'm recovering from surgery I'll have plenty of time away from work and house chores and be able to one-handed build some sets. (Thank god I'm right handed). I look forward to my adventures back in Lego Building and will be looking through all the reviews on here to find more sets that I'd enjoy building.
