  1. Yes I think I should have noticed that I did do a search though and nothing came up. Don't blame me, I'm new, feel free to close this thread.
  2. I might decide to get this model, need to start saving though although I may have a difficult decision if a large Star Wars model comes out around the same time
  3. I've only recently got back into lego, but I've already realised I need to sort my lego pieces out, otherwise I will spend most of the build time looking for the right piece. At the moment my lego pieces are only sorted by colour, so there is a complete mix of different sized pieces, lego and technic together, tiny pegs with large plates all in one place. I don't have much space to store pieces, so the idea at the moment is to buy several of these and some larger containers for bricks and large plates. So the question I'm asking is how do you sort your lego? Do you have every type of piece separate from each other or keep types together e.g. plates are kept together? Or do you keep them mixed up?
  4. Thank you to everyone else who has responded. I've had a request for close up photos of the feet design, while I'm at it does anyone else what close up shots of any other parts?
  5. I got one of these added to my order when I bought a set from the online Lego store, but when I received the model I had ordered it wasn't there. Two days later a package arrived for me, and lo and behold it was the spaceman magnet. You may think sending it by itself was odd in itself, but you would expect something this small to come in a padded envelope, however it had been sent by itself in 32x21x7cm box! Maybe my spaceman paid extra to travel first class
  6. LINK This is from brickset.com, I downloaded a copy from there last week, although you should know the file is quite large If I had the money or the space, I would have got this set, the greebling alone would be worth it I wonder what Lego's next huge set is going to be?
  7. Woah, lots of pages to read through Out of the new sets, I like the look of the Grievous starfighter and Cad Bane's speeder (but is way overpriced), but I think I'll wait and see the reviews on all of them before deciding if they're worth getting. On another note I just managed to get hold of the V-19 Torrent set, for a very good price (lower than the RRP), somehow I missed getting it when it was still in production, but I really wanted to see how the wing functions work and if I could adapt it in any way.
  8. Thank you to everyone who's commented and I'm glad you all like it I think I tried at least five designs for the head before I settled with the one you see in the photo. I'm just going to add a couple more bits of info about the model in the original post if you want to check it out.
  9. Thank you for the information, and thank you to other people who have welcomed me. I've now posted pictures of my first model up in the sci-fi forum LINK
  10. I really like this design, great colour scheme and some nice detailing. I agree with what others have said about the front being too boxy, but overall a great design.
  11. Star Wars - Lego always put in an amazing amount of work when designing these models, maybe they get a little push from Lucasarts to make good designs, but some of my favourite models have been from this series. The only problem I have with this series is that they cost more because of the brand. Exo-Force - Being a huge fan of mecha I loved this series. There were some great designs and an easy way to get strong joints for your own mecha designs. While the front of the robots were almost always great, Lego didn't seem to know what to do with the back and decided to leave them blank.
  12. Hello everyone, here goes with my first model. This design first started out on LDD and I thought it was worth having an attempt at making it. Overall it took me about 8 weeks to build, most of that time was spent looking for the pieces I needed and having to sort out a serious design flaw where the arms would fall off As this is my first design I was going for visuals, so the arms can't move very well due to the large shoulder guards blocking them. Bit of info about the model. The engines on back can move into a lower position. On the back at the bottom of the legs are some smaller jets, which are hinged so they are directed straight ahead rather than down. If anyone wants photos of these, or any other parts close up, I'll happily take some more photos and post them for you, just send me a message. Here's the front and back views. A close up of the head and top of the torso. If you want larger images here's the link to my flickr LINK At the moment I'm working on a spaceship design, but at the moment all I can say about it is that it's going to be red
  13. Thank you for the welcome. Now I need to sort out my avatar and signature and such. A few quick questions, if I want to share my work, which forum would be best? And I currently have a flickr account, can I show images from there in a post or would I need to use something else like photobucket?
  14. Hello people of Eurobricks! I found this website a while ago, when looking for some reviews for some sets, but I've only just got round to signing up. A bit about myself, I live in the UK and I'm currently studying graphic design at university. My favourite lego themes are star wars, exo force and technic. I've only recently started really getting into designing and building my own models. At the moment I have one complete model, which is a mecha design and another that I'm currently working on, which will be a spaceship. Guess that's it for now, thanks for reading. Adam_the_Ant
